My daughter is suffering from eczema from the time she was 2 months old. Her Ped prescribed antihistamine for itching. We are concerned about the side effects.
She does not have any immune system related issues.
Her itching increases during the night time and it has been severe since the past 2-3 weeks. Only now we started giving her antihistamine and are concerned about the side effects.
Is there any other way to stop her itching.
I have a eprsistan itching throat. I live in Arizona. Many time it is so sever that I vomit from it. The cough is dry and prolonged. I know that this is some sort of allrgy I just don't know what kind it is. I get intermiten breaks from it now and then December through January but then from February until Novener the problem persists.
Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
You may have "physical" or Cholinergic urticaria". Any rash (hives) appear together with itching? Next time when itching start take an antihistamine pill (like Benadryl). If this will help you, it means you have physical urticaria (allergy to heat in your case).
ALL OF A SUDDEN this evening my throat became scratchy, then I developed a cough and runny nose. After a few hours I could hear congestion in my chest. After a few cups of hot team with honey, lemon and a little brandy i spit up a greenish color mucus that eventually turned clear. Most of the rattle in my chest is gone, but my throat is sore and I do not have a fever. What is going on???
You have a type of urticaria.Would like to know cold or hot water precipitates?Cyproheptidine a antihistamine does great good but can sedate you,and give you good appetite too.Do consult your doc.As of now try oatmeal bath or soap containing oatmeal.
Just yesterday sround 12pm i started itching really bad on my arms.i thought it was just anormal itch.then i looked at my skin because it wouldn't stop itching, and noticed it was had red spots all over my arm.so it stoped for a little while then i started itching on my thighs.then it spread to my legs, and just about every where else. i'm not sure whats causing this but it is driving me crazy and i'm not sure whats going on should i go see a doctor if it doesn't go a way.
It can be even easier than that. You could alway ask your doc to try free samples of Nasal Sprays for rhinitis, sinusitis. If it works than you know what it is. Then you need to figure out why it happens like if it is allergy or sinusitis and treat it more specifically if you want to. Once way to rule in allergy is antihistamine like Benedryl. If you take an antihistamine and it stops it's more likely rhinitis.
However, I was speaking with my sister in law who is an RN. She said that they often have their patients take an antihistamine such as Claritin with their injections to lessen the sypmptoms (both flu-like and injection site.) I'm wondering if any of you have heard of this, or do take the antihistamine. Right now I take Panadol and do my injection right before bed to try and sleep through it.
After a severe bacterial infection which affected my hearing, I have developed severe uncontrollable almost burning itching in feet, legs and arms - always at night - rarely during the daytime. No rash or welts. Antihistamin clears it up within 30 minutes. Can you help?
I m 25 years old and I live in Maldives but I am a Pakistani national,The problem is that I have got generalized itching since 1 week,I dont understand why.
A few hours after I had taken it I began to develop an itchy red rash on the corner of my lips and by the next day it had spread to cover the entirety of my lips. I also felt a tightness in my throat. I called my physician and she recommended I take Benadryl and go to the ER if the symptoms worsened, they didn't and the Benadryl seemed to help with the rash on my lips.
I traveled overseas a few days later and I started getting the itching, discharge etc of a yeast infection.
I need to know what could be causing my itching. For the last few days I have woke up early in the morning with itching from the top of my head to my feet. It is so bad I am unable to go back to sleep. It is only in the morning upon waking up and stops shortly after. I do not have a rash at all.

Me and my boyfriend had sexual intercourse around the beginng of january and after i had wiped myself with a wipe from summers eve and after that acouple days later i felt swollen and then a burning itching sensantion came over in the vaginal area and im kinda worried.... it's swollen in only the inner labia and redness and itching and when i wash with soap it tends to burn or hurt i dont even know how to explain it ... anyone have any advice?
I get rashes on my body that it kind of warm feeling, it cannot stop itching. it goes away and then just comes out somewhere else?

I have been experiencing an itching problem since last few months. Most of the time it happens in evening time on my upper part of body, like on back, stomach area, chest but more on my back close to neck area. It occurs for 5 to 10 min but very intensive. And after itching over their leaves red bums for a while. Its happens only for few minutes after then nothing. Due this problem i'm having an black sptted skin on my back close to neck area. It doesn't happen everyday.
2012 - a week later I broke out in hives all over my body and felt my throat tightening. I went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital overnight after 2 shots of (I guess it was) cortizone didn't help my symptoms. I determined that it was an allergy to the meds I was still taking for my bladder infection and/or a combination of those meds with ibuprofen, vitamins, etc The doctors weaned me off steroid meds and antihistamines even though I still had symptoms..
Hi may name is Hamza and my problem is that i am having itchy anus.
The other night I came down with a severe headache and the following day had strep-like symptoms (only lasting a day) of sore throat, headache, neasuea, weakness/ fatigue, diarhea, fever, and vomitting. The next day my fever ws gone and the only thing that lingers is a sore throat. My mother being an RN seems to think it is scarlet fever caused by a dormant strep infection I had about a month ago. I am not so sure as I did not have any strawberry tongue are patches in my mouth.
