antihistamine

612551 tn?1450022175 Thanks, I had seen some where making use of Benadryl antihistamine oral for dogs... making some adjustment for weight. Thus a 20 pound Westie would be a small fraction of a pill. I just now wonder too if the antihistamine oral might also be of some help with the skin.... I'll stick to one experiment at at time, otherwise the results can't be mapped to one action. I may try Gold Bond, that too had come to mind, in fact I tried a little a few weeks back and decided not to continue.
612551 tn?1450022175 Temaril-P has been found to be effective therapy and adjunctive therapy in various cough conditions of dogs. Therefore, in addition to its antipruritic action, Temaril-P is recommended for the treatment of “kennel cough” or tracheobronchitis, bronchitis including all allergic bronchitis and infections and coughs of nonspecific origin. (Coughs due to cardiac insufficiencies would not be expected to respond to Temaril-P therapy.
Avatar f tn In approx 10% of dogs, any antihistamine can unexpectedly cause excessive sleepiness, or paradoxical excitment, and if these symptoms occur, then the antihistamine is discontinued. Perhaps this happened to one of the prior rescue dogs when given benadryl.
Avatar f tn Back from the Vet's. Molly's breathing problem, cough, whatever, is NOT due to the congestive heart problem. Vet said fluid from around her heart and lungs had subsided thanks to the Enalapril. It's her larynx...or what's left of it. We knew it was a problem, but it's severe now...no consolation that it is common in small breed dogs, especially those with "smashed" noses.
Avatar m tn I remember changing his food about 2 years ago to a natural choice brand from Hills brand. He has a small like stinky feet that only I can smell. Goes away with a bath. Tried many shampoos and skin treatments but no luck. After I take antihistamine I can't smell my dog for a while. So it's with out a doubt an allergy. Triggers my asthma bad too. Once he had fleas and that set off my allergies terrible. It's my allergy is from his skin I think. Won't give away, too attached.

666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar n tn Some types of dog mites can be transmitted to humans. If present in your dogs, have them seen by veterinarian for treatment. In your case, cold packs and antihistamine medication may help with the itching especially when taken at night. Try to avoid scratching to prevent secondary infection. If it persists, have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I am severely allergic to dogs and cats. Asthma, runny nose, etc.; I break out in hives if one licks me. Been like this since childhood, though my symptoms have lessened over the years. I'm now 47. My parents got a dog a few years ago, but over time I have acclimated somewhat and now this particular animal doesn't seem to other me. I do not live with them, so my contact with the dog was sporadic. My wife would like to buy a dog.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the forum....You don't say how long you have had them.......You already sound frustrated, so I hope you have had them a good length of time..... LoveMyBostons is spot on.......These dogs have more than likely been locked in cages and had no choice of where to potty.....They know no different....This was how they were raised for 6 years!!!! They must be taught differently from you..... How long are they staying in these crates???
Avatar n tn Over the past day or two, I have noticed some small red bumps on my penis. Only 3 tiny ones on the head, and a small (not too many bumps) rash-like line of them going from the bottom towards the head. I have recently had unprotected sex with a new partner, last Sunday and Monday (Same partner.). I have never had this problem before, although I currently do have poison oak or poison ivy which I think may be the cause. She has been tested for STD's before and is on birth control.
Avatar m tn I have seen a new allergy doctor recently. 48 hours ago, I went for a visit for allergy skin testing. They performed the skin ***** test on my forearms then proceeded to do intradermal skin testing. I was allergic to all intradermal tests except dogs. This is not the first time I've had skin testing done so this was what I expected. I have attempted to google delayed reactions and intradermal skin test but not results.
Avatar f tn Try putting some treats in your pocket, bring the dogs together while you have treats in your hand, and treat both dogs when thry do not fight. Pet and praise both dogs at the same time. Keep doing this until they know that mom gives the treats and love when they don't fight.

Avatar f tn Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
612551 tn?1450022175 Thanks, seems to be the going rate then. I am about 50 miles from NYC, so not directly influenced by those prices. I am in a rural, but somewhat affluent community. The price range I got was $348 to 380, the variable for any needed follow up antibiotics. My vet is very good about itemizing the offer: Fluid IV at $44 and Inhalant anesthesia at $84 X-rays, 2 views at $55 and the work itself at $125...
Avatar f tn Can someone please provide me with a safety list of fruits/veggies for dogs. I keep getting hearing mixed information; about broccoli and almonds and more.
8274643 tn?1406141596 I am being induced this Saturday and I am staying with my grandparents when I get out for a while. And my grandma has 2 small indoor dogs and I'm just wondering how do I get them ready for my babies to come home with out them hurting them? I know they wouldn't intentionally hurt my babies but they do get hyper when be people are around. So I'm just wondering how I'm supposed to prepare them for the babies?
Avatar f tn The antihistamine I take is Reactine, I cannot tolerate many either, but this one seems to work for me and it doesn't make my symptoms worse. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that gets affected by weather changes but too bad we do go through this!
Avatar f tn Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.
