antihistamine

1711722 tn?1356487554 I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon!

Avatar f tn I went to rite aid and asked the pharmacist what I can take with my symptoms and she said Clariton. so I bought it and have had the biggest headache all day. Will that work for a cold though? I need quick relief!! Anything else I can take? People always assume to drink and eat warm things but my throat LOVES slurpees, that's normal right?

Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
565430 tn?1272695820 from everything I have read about those you should not take it for more then 3 weeks without a break. a lil vics would help with the sinuses.. as for sleep maybe a nice warm bath and good book with some sleepy-time tea.. Congrats on 557 days !!
268356 tn?1236002604 I have had a head cold for a few days now, and it is making me miserable, I have so much pressure in my head. I too tried sudafed but that didn't work. I try not to take tylenol because I am on Lovenox.... Ive just been trying to tuff it out with the help of a saline nasal spray.... Good luck, Im not sure about theraflu....
Avatar f tn Just to let anyone know I found out from the pharmacy today that taking certain OTC cold and flu pills especially the night time versions contain chlorpheniramine or antihistamine.. Which should not be combined with meds like xanax because they both contain an ingredient to make you relax and it can effect your breathing by relaxing you essentially too much...
Avatar n tn For OTC cough syrup, I use Delsym (Dextromethorphan polistirex) or Mucinex (Guaifenesin). I've never had a problem with either, and I'd consider myself fairly sensitive to cold medications. When I need the big guns, I get my PCP to prescribe Tussionex (chlorpheniramine and hydrocodone) aka. "Liquid Gold". I love this stuff. It's expensive, hence the name. But you WILL stop coughing, and you WILL sleep!
535882 tn?1396576685 i have a cold, runny nose, sore throat, i woke up today my eyes are swollen one worse then the other, what can i do about this, im taking ofc antihistamine , eye drops and putting ice packs on my eyes, looks bad still.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar f tn Take tylonal cold/flu and vitamin c, and drink Orange juice and get as much sleep as you can. That's what my doctor said bc im 38 weeks and had a cold for a week. I don't know if robitussun is to good for you while your pregnant.
Avatar m tn It is difficult to give a suitable advice without actually seeing a patient. If it is mild and can be easily managed, going to the gym may be continued but with antihistamine medications. However, if the symptoms persist, you may need to stop it all together. I really recommend that you try to identify the possible triggers so that you could avoid them and see your attending for proper assessment. Best regards.
Avatar m tn My dry eye is treatable with Celluvisc and Refresh Gel drops and like all with dry eye ( moderate and above ) there are good and bad days--However I have run into a difficult situation related to the common cold. What meds can I take that will not effect my dry eye ???? I recently had a cold and took cold meds and my eyes burnt so bad ( even with drops ) that it was near unbearable . The Doc and Pharmacy both said it was the antihistomine and I quit the meds which relieved the dry eye symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
Avatar m tn I'm a 21 year old male. Four weeks ago, I came down with what seemed to be a cold. I experienced congestion, cough, and laryngitis a day or two after exposure to large amounts of hay and agricultural lime. Taking this into consideration, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased.
Avatar n tn At first it didnt swell up but after a few hours it swelled up. So then i decided to take a nap for a little bit. When i woke up my whole eye was swollen i could barelly see. What should i do? I need help! And i never experieced a horsefly bite this bad before.
Avatar f tn I am going back to get tested for the meds that the dentist needs to use to numb my mouth for a filling next week. A pharmacist told me about the dyes in meds and that might be what I am reacting too. It is funny that no doctors have ever mentioned that to me. If I stay away from antihistmaines which I have to do these next 7 days so I can have the allergy test then I do pretty go with hives unless I get too hot or stressed. My hands normally have hives and are itchy most days though.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar f tn d recently been taking antihistamine (cetirizine) everyday (10mg) for 3 months because I moved to a place next to trees that released a lot of pollen. Changed cities recently so stopped taking it. This problem started shortly afterwards. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn God seems to have troubled you with quite a few to handle.Sorry for that. But what falls prominently in my eye,is that you have blocked sinuses which should be treated medically or surgically (using a technique called FESS).Your fluid in the ear (though I don't understand how can the pressure be normal if there was fluid in the ear.. doesn't happen that way) would require a myringotomy and grommet insertion to relieve the symptoms if they are not responding to medications.
Avatar f tn Every time I go outside in the winter, my skin itches all over and doesn't stop until I've been back inside for several hours. What is causing me to react to cold this way, an is there anything I can do?
Avatar n tn Whenever I am exposed to cold weather or cold water, my skin will become red and I could feel a burning sensation. Sometimes, my skin will also become itchy and swelling occurs. Also, I have fainted after swimming in a cold water environment. Not only that, I feel that I am going to faint even if I exercise in a warm environment (i.e jogging on the treadmill). At first, I thought that my low-blood pressure causes it.
Avatar f tn cold meds) to help CM to be a good consistency? I heard it helps the sperm get through more easily. A friend of mine was TTC for five years and her husband had low motility. She started taking cough syrup and within 6-12 months, got pregnant and miscarried a few weeks in (in Nov.) & now is 5 weeks pregnant again and everything is looking good. I have been TTC for two years and am wondering if I should try it. Is it safe?
Avatar f tn There is a skin condition you are describing associated with the cold weather. A second geberation antihistamine, like Allegra, helps control one part of the allergic skin reaction. A prescription medicine, Singulair acts on another part of the allergic reaction. You may want to ask your doctor about it. This forum is not a substitute for a medical examination, but you may have asthma. Asthma causes your airways to spasm causing breathing problems and could be triggered by cold weather.
