How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
I used to take antihistamine everyday for 5 years as living without them at the time was impossible. Untill one day, when i decided i will not take anymore, mainly to see how my body would react after days of being attacked by itself with no medication.
Ironically, after a solid week of torture and no sleep, the itching started to slowly subside. It has since reduced to about 50% of what it was but it is still here and still making life very uncomfortable.
Or could this be a food allergy? I take a wonderful antihistamine called xyzal. It works really well but when it wears off I'm in trouble. I'm getting an allergy test soon but have to be off the antihistamine for 5 days and I'm scared about that. I get so uncomfortable. Has anyone out there ever experienced this similiar problem?
not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?

Itching after surgery is pretty normal and a sign of healing. Itching happens along nerves as well (as does pain). What about an antihistamine? That can sometimes work. Zyrtec and allegra are examples and can be purchased over the counter. There is also a cream that has Benadryl in it called Caladryl which is known to help. It's been such a long time since surgery to still have this but I'd give these things a try.

Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!

Do not mix antihistamines though such as an oral antihistamine and spray. Ocean Spray does not have an antihistamine and will simply dry you out and is safe to use with an antihistamine.

i have 2 on my right forearm, another on my right elbow, one on the left side of my neck, and one on my ankle all together i have 10. Some Also all seem to have the stinger in the middle of it. What in the world is this? What can i do to stop the itching?!
I sometimes have so much drainage that I have to take oral antihistamine, too. I hate it, because the oral antihistamine is so sedating.
