666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it

Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
280234 tn?1532986249 Anyone ever take Vistaril for marked anxiety? I get anxious occasionally, and have tried all of the SSRIs. I can't take them. They make me gain weight & feel like I'm in a bad fog. I suffer from high BP & tachycardia, which I'm on medicine for, and when I get anxious my heart rate and BP go up, and I feel terrible.
250155 tn?1485295939 My dr just prescribed me Effexor for my anxiety and he also gave me a prescription of Hydroxyzine (an antihistamine). Has anyone else taken either or possibly both together? I started the Effexor yesterday, but am reluctant about the antihistamine.
351404 tn?1299489130 Had an eczema with itching outbreak on forehead area and took a Benadryl antihistamine pill. Fine for 24 hours, then took another and that night had a three hour AFib episode. I remember about 20 years ago, I last took an antihistamine and got flutters. Is there a connection between AFib and antihistamine, ie have others an opinion or experience of this?
925572 tn?1246540031 am gonna consult my pdoc ,,,but i really appreciate any info or experience on antihistamine meds and psychiatric meds in general thx for reading
Avatar n tn My Dr ordered a CT scan a year ago and said i had a deviated septum and some nasal polyps. I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec.
399151 tn?1201289425 Everyone's body is different, so you shouldn't listen to what people tell you. You should listen to your doctor. I've been on Wellbutrin (I take it with Effexor XR) and Klonopin for anxiety, for about three weeks now 150 mg per day, and I haven't noticed that it's affected my anxiety level. But, again, that's me. Everyone is different. I, too, have a difficult time (at times) reaching my doctor.
Avatar f tn ve been reading alot of posts on here where people are dealing with anxiety while going thru detox or taking suboxone and just wanted to share my experience, 7 years ago after taking narcotics and getting addicted, I went to a doctor who introduced me to suboxone, but the one thing I had really bad was anxiety and the last thing I wanted was to get benzos and she gave me a medication called Vistaril, it's not a benzo, it's not addictive and it works great for anxiety.
Avatar f tn Your over-all restlessness might be similar to the anxiety many of us have in withdrawl. I was given Vistaril in Detox for anxiety. It's an antihistamine that has a sedative effect. I don't know for sure, but maybe an OTC antihistamine like Benadryl would help with that.
527657 tn?1214051850 I am on paxil for that but i still need help sleeping i get anxiety when i think of nighttime and sleep. Hence im taking the tylenol pm. its working so im not complaining.
Avatar f tn the hydroxyzine parmoate is a antihistamine and also used for anxiety, it can cause drowsiness. if it continues let her know and she can adjust the dosage. when was your last dose of the percocets? how are your symptoms? you are on the road called recovery. good for you.
Avatar n tn Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is an antihistamine and is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, itching and other allergies. So, as mentioned above it dries out the secretions and hence is not recommended in lung disorders. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My levo is causing some itchy reaction, so I tried synthroid. I could not sleep and kept having anxiety attacks. Is there a reason for this and how can I combat it? I will be taking levo lavoxly to see if it will help at all. Any suggestions will help. I'm also on 15 mcg of cytomel Tsh .57 T4 .65 (.61-1.60) T3 3.28 I don't have the ranges with me right now. I just remember my t4 because its so low. My symptoms are rapid heart rate, my sinuses won't heal, shakiness.
Avatar n tn Ambien did nothing for me when I had insomnia due to anxiety. Neurontin (gabapentin) helps with sleep due to anxiety and has no dependence issues. Also Atarax (Vistoril) is a good anti-anxiety, sleep aid. It is a heavy duty antihistamine that also has anti-anxiety properties. There are many meds you can discuss with your doctor besides actual "sleeping pills" such as Ambien and Lunesta. The worse your sleep is the worse your anxiety will be.
Avatar n tn try clariton oral, nasal crom and allaway(eyes) or just try the clariton and alaway first and if needed add the nasalceom. I have severe allergies to cats and dogs, pollen etc. and it works for me.
Avatar n tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Wear lose comfortable clothes. Wash all your linen and towels etc with a disinfectant solution. Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction but unsure if this is the correct diagnosis. It has flared up again and I feel so weak and tired. Neck muscles feel tight and into my arms. Having difficulty sleeping too. Has anyone had similar symptoms and got a diagnosis or suggest anything that will help?
