So I had to take antibiotics twice during my pregnancy. One time it was the pack you take for like 4 days I believe and its because I had a virus/flu going on then the second time which was like 3-4weeks later I had amoxicillin because again I had came down with a cold but with an ear infection. I was suppose to stay on the amoxocillin for I think was like 10+ days but everytime I would take it I felt my baby move alot and just felt nasty so I ended up taking it for only 2-3 days.
I can't say for sure because there are different types of antibiotics and different dosages, etc. But I can tell you that in my last pregnancy I needed to take antibiotics for a tooth problem and it didn't seem to effect that pregnancy. My son just turned 1 yr and seems prefect to me. ;-) I was really worried about it too but I didn't really have a choice. I needed the meds. Thankfully everything turned out well.
I took keflex and it made me break out in hives due to my pregnancy some antibiotics are safe during pregnancy that's one of them
I took antibiotics three times while I've been pregnant, they just want you out of your first trimester to give them to you.
And you have to be healthy for baby too..
Has anyone ever been prescribed the antibiotic Clindamiacin while pregnant. I went to the emergency dentist yesterday morning BC I was up allll night before with a horrible toothache. Well I guess I have a slight infection in my wisdom tooth and it needs to be extracted asap but he wanted me to take the med first for a few days. Its on my sheet of same meds from my doctor and both dentist and pharmacist said it was fine but I'm so Leary! I guess infection is more harmful.

Most antibiotics are safe to take during pregnancy, and that is one of them. The risk of am active infection is much worse. Take the antibiotics.
i have had 2 Y.I. so far during my pregnancy and was instructed to use over the counter monistat. the first one i was still in 1st trimester, dr instructed me not to insert the applicator too far in while administering med. i've been told that it is quite common for YI and UTI's during pregnancy. infact i am taking antibiotics right now for a UTI, which will probably trigger another YI from the antibiotics!!
Okay so im scheduled to get my tooth pulled in 2 weeks, my dentist prescribed me 2 weeks worth of antibiotics to take because the medicine that they usually use to numb a patient getting a tooth pulled is not good for the baby so they supplement that for antibiotics, I just wanted to know if any other mom evr took antibiotics while preg?? I guess because I'm a FTM I'm really nervous but I just don't want nothing to hurt my baby like I just need clarify...
ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...
I am 24 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with a UTI and took prescribed antibiotics for a week and felt back to normal. Today two days after finishing the antibiotics I again have uti symptoms of needing to urinate frequency with other small amount of urine coming out, slight burn and odor, and very severe pain on my right side. I went back to the doctor and was given a different antibiotic. Should I go to the hospital if the pain and symptoms persist tonight?
Every dentist I went too asks me if my mom took antibiotics during pregnancy. But other than some funny color on my back teeth that only my dentist sees, I turned out fine. Talking to your doctor is a very good idea though, they know best.
I've ha a yeast infection 3 times durin this pregnancy.. And one of the times was due to antibiotics. But yeast infections are very very common in pregnant women with how your body is cleaning its self out and all the hormones. They suck as$ so I hope you feel better soon!
I was prescribed a zpak of antibiotics and and inhaler..i was amazed at how much it allows me to breathe better at night. Only downside is that it is a stimulant, so it took me a while to fall asleep after I used it. As far as helping the coughing...I used cough drops and hard candies to keep my throat from getting dry. I had a rough cough for at least a good month. I hope that yours doesnt last that long and you get to feeling better soon.
s why at every ob visit they test your urine for one. Antibiotics are very low risk during pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was on them 6 times.
Your doctor is aware of your pregnancy and some antibiotics are perfectly safe during pregnancy. Best to work with your doctor and follow their guidance. Wishing you a quick recovery and easy rest of your pregnancy.
Yes, I went through BV when I was 13 weeks and took the same antibiotics. It cleared after I took the antibiotics, but if yours didn't then they might have to try a different dosage for you. I've had bv many many times and most of the time, it didn't clear up or came back as soon as I stopped antibiotics. The best thing I have figured out is to try to prevent it by washing your underwear separately and not using fabric softer.
What antibiotics are you taking? Did your dr prescribe these antibiotics for bronchitis knowing that you are pregnant?
