Macrobid is the safest antibiotic durning pregnancy... It has no side effects during pregnancy, I took it when I was 5weeks and the Dr, so the pharmacy tech advice it was safe!!!

Your doctor should prescribe you something safe for your pregnancy...not saying that thats not safe because I'm not sure but when I had a UTI I got prescribed amoxcycillon..i think thats how u spell it..the reassured me it was safe for my baby. You can ask your doctor...he/she should know. If your not sure about using it ask for something else?

I've finally broken down and taken the antibiotics. Temp was 100.2 today. 10 days of azythromyocin. 1 pill a day. Dr. said its safe for pregnancy. I'm also taking probiotics to counteract yeast. Has anyone else been in this situation? Was your pregnancy and baby okay? I'm so worried.

Most antibiotics are safe during pregnancy. If you told your primary Dr that you were pregnant they would've chosen meds safe for you. I've been on them twice so far and I'm almost 29 weeks and baby is great.

m not sure about azithromycin there are safe antibiotics but not all are safe to take during pregnancy. Do not take anything without asking or seeing your Dr.

I know for a fact there are many antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. Infact had to take some in the beginning for a uti, and bronchitis, i was hospitalized.

I would just call the office to be safe and tell them you are pregnant and want to know if the antibiotic prescribed for you is safe during pregnancy. It is on the safe list from my obgyn. I also researched it. Its fine in pregnancy. I'm just worried about a severe reaction that will cause bigger problems for me and my baby - throat swelling, etc.things that are highly unlikely. That's why my husband is irritated.

I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. For all these antibiotics, i received strong reassurance that they are safe to take to treat my common occuring respiratory infections. I am concerned. Is there anyone here who took many antbx during pregnancy and had a healthy child? AMEN...

ve been on keflex 3 times throughout ny pregnancy for an abscess I had. its totally safe. its a weak antibiotic anyway. you and your baby are fine.

Kflex is safe- two antibiotics to AVOID in pregnancy would be- deoxycycline (spell?) or tetracycline, which are known to have risks. Otherwise- if the dr prescribing the antibiotics isn't your OB be sure to let your OB know that you were prescribed a new medication, they may have their own preference of what you should and should not take- and always ask the pharmacist if you are unsure about any medication..

I take a class b medicine that i took thru my first pregnancy and now this pregnancy. Everything is fine. I did take the z pack with my first as well. I got pneumonia when i was 18weeks pregnant.

I can't say for sure because there are different types of antibiotics and different dosages, etc. But I can tell you that in my last pregnancy I needed to take antibiotics for a tooth problem and it didn't seem to effect that pregnancy. My son just turned 1 yr and seems prefect to me. ;-) I was really worried about it too but I didn't really have a choice. I needed the meds. Thankfully everything turned out well.

Amoxicillin is considered safe during pregnancy (it is Preganncy Category B). Have you seen your doctor about the yeast infection? There are medications that are safe to use during pregnancy for yeast infection.
