I got one implanted in Delhi at Escorts Hospital in 2008. A single lead ICD, Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator capable of pacing and defibrillator (I am not sure if a pacemaker has only one function i.e. pacing) cost me approx Rs 450000 (USD 10000) including surgery. More complicated ones could cost double. In India you can negotiate the cost with representatives of different ICD brands and get a good deal. There are many models of ICDs with different battery life.
The cost of a radio frequency ablation in the United States can run from around $2,000in facilities that only specialise in this procedure to around $3,000 elswhere. It is my understanding that medical procedures in India can be as much as 70% less than the same treatment in the US which would make this procedure the equivalent of between $140 and $210 in India if what I have read is true.

Was there any special reason why your cardiologist prescribed a cardiac MRI instead of say a heart catheterization with angiography? I am not sure which test would give the best and most accurate picture of the heart's arteries and occlusions or narrowings.
I'm sure the cost varies from one area to another, but we would have no way of knowing what the cost of this or any other medication would be for people in different locations.
You would need to check the price with whoever would be dispensing that medication to you (pharmacist? clinic? doctor).

As you mentioned about symptoms , I got symptom of discomfort in throat just 30 minutes before Heart Attack, but I felt it could be only due to some food, oil consumed in preparation of food.This sort of discomfort was total different which I feel it after consuming some oil based food, but I could not realize the difference as I drank 2/3 glasses of water
immediately. I realized only when I perspire a lot and my pressure dropped drastically at lower levels.
Moreover, I would love to shoot an email with the snap shot of angiography if some expert plz give his email. So that he might give me more insightful reply. Thanks alot. Waiting for .....
my self arpit shah. My mother got heart problem on 7-11-09, doctor has taken ecg & tropolin test -it was positive with 7.5, doctor sugest for angiography- we had done it, result of angiograph shows,
LAD is block 50% at upper, 90% in middle - other artery are ok & normal.
for this what can be the medicine?

calcific vessel. Normal. LAD: calcific vessel,moderate stenosis in mid course. minor osteal disease at the orgin of D1 & D2. LCx;Mon-dominant. minor irregularity proximally , critical disease in mid segmet. 1st OM has moderate disease in its proximal segment. RCA;Dominant. spotty calcification. diffuse minor disease proximal to mid segment. PDA has moderete/ subcritical osteal disease.
I stay in India. My mother has been diagnosed with Severe Orthopnea and poor LVEF. Doctors say that she has at most 6 months to live.

Well, I'm home from having had my CT Angiography of the brain and heart. Now, I just have to wait one week until I go back to the neuro to find out the results of it.
The Neuro said my last MRI was the weirdest and unusual MRI of the brain that she had ever seen. The report said something about Vertebral Basilar Insufficiency and something about an enlarged vessel or something. My brainstem has moderate damage (Chronic Gliosis) and it didn't sound like it was damaged from the MS.
There is hypokinesia (heart wall movement impairment) disorder of apex,IVS (Impairment is the wall (septum) that separates the left and right ventricular chambers and anterior wall due to a prior heart attack. This impairment reduces the heart's ability to pump normally. Normal is an ejection fraction (EF) 50 to 70%...amount of blood pumped with each heartbeat.
my grand mother suffered a silent heart attack on 27th jan 2011...she was admitted in icu n discharged in 7 days....echo cardiography then stated
1) Ischaemic heart disease.
2) Impaired LV function. LVEF: 40%.
3) RWMA ( Whole inferior wall, basal anterior wall and moderate hypokinetic with preserved thickness. )
4) Grade I LV diastolic dysfunction.
On 17th Feb 2011, she had symptoms of severe breathlessness and palpatation and addmitted to same hospital....
her blood pressure was 230/130.
