A carotid MRI showed that I have about 50 percent blockage. A stress test revealed an abnormal EKG, with about a 4mm drop in the curve between the pulses. I have a history of high cholesterol and am currently on a cholesterol reducing medication as well as a medication to reduce blood pressure. I was offered several options as the next step and opted for a CT angiogram.

People can have an reaction to the nuclear stress test. The test is not perfect. The only true test, which is a procedure, is the angiogram. My mom had the nuclear stress test and was told that it was not bad and a few months later she was totally plugged in two main arteries and about 99 percent plugged in the other. Have you had an echocardiogram yet? An echocardiogram can check the heart valves.
I had a triple bypass in Aug 2007....is there a test that would indicate how those grafts are holding up.
If test at YRGCARE chennai their window period is only 45 days for their KIT. The doctor said for their kit 45 days more than sufficinet to detect antibdies. In fact they say their kits are much better than PCR DNA.
If you are in chennai you can get tested there for Rs 150.
The docotor said the window period is not universal and it based on the KIT used by the center. But he said able to detect by 3 months, but less than that should be told by the centers.
A nuclear stress test is about 85% accurate in finding CAD whereas a angiogram is 100% accurate. The angiogram also carries a 1 - 3% risk of complications, the most common risk, although very rare, is having an artery dissected during the procedure which results in emergency bypass surgery. Having said that, if I was told I needed one I would do it without hesitation. It is the gold standard of heart tests to determine if CAD is present.
H/O IWMI on 26/03/16. 2D echo showed 60% EF. Coronary angiogram revealed tVCAD with fair LV function. I want to know that his heart condition. Please reply me as soon as possible because my father does not feel well.
He is getting fever evry month from November 11(after typoid vaccine) .The doctor did all blood test and mono test everting is ok .He is having some iron defeciency thats it.now he is taking iron syrup.Still he is getting fever (101 ,103)

I was in ICU for congested heart failure that came about very suddenly without any symptoms prior. Given blood test, chest x-ray, EKG, echo and then a cath angiogram. The diagnosis was very little blood flowing to the distal portion of the heart. It was believed if the 98% blocked RCA was stented there would be more blood to that portion of the heart. The 100% blocked LAD had developed collateral vessels for a natural bypass, and circumflex is 72% blocked (no stent).
