Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram lower limb

angiogram

Avatar f tn The various causes of leg pain are atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis - leg pain on walking (A blood clot in a deep vein), Leriche syndrome (block in abdominal aorta and/or main leg artery), limb ischaemia (low oxygen to limbs), sciatica, spondylitis of lower vertebrae and peripheral vascular disease (arteries of limbs are involved). Doppler tests will rule out the possibility of involvement of an artery or vein. An angiogram too can be done.
Avatar m tn 1) Right Saphenofemoral incompetence causing varicosities right lower limb 2 )No evidence of deep vein thrombosis 3 ) Diffuse subcutaneous edema right lower limb 4 ) normal right lower limb perforators 5 ) Normal right ilica veins and ivc. I am volleyball player,Can I play my game.?
Avatar n tn Usually it starts with one arm, then the lower limb of the same side, then opposite lower limb and finally the remaining upper limb. Usually it only one cause behind many symptoms. The lower limb symptoms in your case need to be explained, if they are not due to the cervical disc bulging. What does the lumbar spine MRI say?
Avatar f tn I was given adenosine to lower my heart rate. In the days to follow I was given an Angiogram to rule out Heart attack or blockages. That test was normal. Then I see an Electrocardiologist and within a month I had my EP Study and Ablation. I still suffer from shortness of breath from time to time and palps.......but no more SVT ATTACKS SO FAR!!!
Avatar m tn I think another angiogram is your best option personally. It will show how clear your vessels are but ask them to do a FFR on your coronary arteries. This is a tiny sensor which gives the cardiologist the blood flow rate. Without this test, they are simply going by visual signs which is an inaccurate method. I would like to know what your BP was to lower your EF to 15%?
Avatar f tn i want to discuss a case a boy age 10 y history is of 7 days back pain in bilatral calf muscles leadin to wekness of both lower limb plus upper limb wkness wid unable to grip objects n proximal muscles weeknes of uper limb....power in both uper n lower limbs r 3/5, 3 + u can say...reflexes in upper limbs r normal n in lower limb hyper when reinforcement is done...gait is atexic...romberg sign positive wid eyes open n eyes close....tone is normal...coordination is poor ...no nastagmus...
Avatar m tn The tests indicated a blockage. I am now waiting for an angiogram. They put me on drugs after the test. I am on 1.25mg Monocor, 5mg Norvasc, 10mg Crestor as well as ASA 81mg - one per day. Now I wait for Angiogram. I am quite freaked out. So I am scheduled for an angiogram on Feb 5th. They tell me there are risks in this test. The risk is 1 in 1000 people die, stroke or have a heart attack during this proceedure. My question is this, Should I get a 64-slice Coronary CT Angiography?
Avatar f tn Your orofacial and dental symptoms may very well be associated with TMJs or masticatory muscle dysfunction. However, lower limb symptoms may be more related to spine or lower limb issues. Although it's reported that tmjs or craniocervical dysfunction may cause pelvis or lower limb problems, it's difficult to substantiate clinically.Multidisiplinary management is probably most beneficial to your well beings.
Avatar m tn Hi there. The lower limb symptoms are most likely a result of the unfused vertebrae in the lower back. These could be compressing the nerve roots exiting from the respective vertebrae. You should also see an MRI neck to check any cervical disc prolapsed or degeneration, or unfused vertebrae since you are also getting to have upper limb symptoms. Your appointment with the neurologist would allay your anxiety. Take care.
Avatar f tn She is currently in the hospital with more blockages. They are performing the angiogram now. She is 73 yrs old and still pretty spunky. My question is, will she need surgery again? And if so, what are the odds of the surgery being successful and making a full recovery?
Avatar n tn decreased sensation throughout the whole of the left lower and upper limb decreased proprioceprion over lower limbs below knee, lower limb reflexes display hyperflexia, questionably displays some signs of clonus on left side.
Avatar n tn an angiogram is the images taken using a catheter, injecting radio isotopes into the blood vessels to show up on an imaging system. As I've said before, all procedures carry some element of risk but some are obviously much lower than others. Angiograms are about the lowest you can get, but by law you have to be warned you could end up with a stroke or other organ damage if some plaque is knocked out of place.
Avatar n tn Angiogram is when the doctors go up through your groin into your heart, use some dye, and checked for blocked arteries. Sometimes they check the pressure in the valves. A mild sedative is given before to relax you. It will definitely show if there is anything wrong with your heart and it is worth it. If they see blocked arteries they may choose to stent them to keep them open at that time.
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar f tn 8 years ago he had his first angiogram d/t tightening in the throat symptoms upon exersion. His angiogram at that time showed a very small occlusion in the lower aspect of the heart- resulting in the stable angina. The lastest angiogram also revealed "new arteries" had formed and have compensated for the blockage somewhat. My question is : with 100% blockage and reduced blood flow as stated in the report from the angiogram should a stent not be looked at?
Avatar n tn I have to have a valve replaced and am having an angiogram to see if there is blockage to be treated at the same time. The physician doing the angiogram has indicated he will put in a stent if he finds blockage. My feeling is that this is unnecessary as the major advantage of angioplasty (less invasive than bypass) is totally irrelevant since I'm having a valve replaced anyway. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn A nasty Trochanter (Hip) Bursitis can sometimes cause referred pain into your lower limb. There are nerves that travel through the hip area that can also become entrapped. It's best to consult your PCP. They will usually begin with a x-ray but if it is negative more detailed imaging is normally ordered. In the meantime I would consider some warm moist compresses alternated with cold, rest the limb as much as possible and discuss an appropriate OTC NSAID with your local Pharmacist.
Avatar m tn I recovered from the ribs but when I stopped taking pain medication I started having severe pain in my legs ,feet ,hips and lower back. It has now spread to my upper arms to the point where I tear muscles in my arms just trying to get out of bed. The only relief comes from high dose pain meds and sleep but as soon as I wake up I have to start the pain meds again. It is possible that his accident triggered an adult form of MD ?
Avatar m tn I have been told today that my Left Lower part of my heart has a reading of 49% and I will be sent for a further tests in 2 - 3 weeks time. Can this reading cause a heart attack? I am a 60 year old man living alone.
Avatar n tn Since you have redness on legs and a heat (inflammation) that comes on and off, I think you could have deep vein thrombosis of the deep veins of the leg or maybe valvular dysfunction of the deep veins of the legs. This can be diagnosed by color Doppler or by angiogram of the leg veins. High blood pressure, kidney dysfunction, diabetes and hypothyroidism should be ruled out.
Avatar f tn s father had had a CT angiogram and now the doctor wanted to do a cath angiogram. I meant to say and said the cath angiogram was unnecessary unless it was agreed and understood that there would in all probablity be angioplasty (stent, balloon) with a cath angiogram. there is a higher than expected probability there would be a stent implanted with a cath angiogram ...there are statistics available).
Avatar f tn My father is scheduled for a angiogram on Dec 20th. So from the report u can tell that before max heart rate the lower part of the heart has impaired wall movement. What is safer - stent or redo bypass if those r the options.
