angiogram

776302 tn?1241091853 My friend was rushed to the emergency room following a rash of violent vomiting. Long story short she had an angiogram procedure done, she felt a pain in her chest and went into cardiac arrest. after 35 minutes she was brought back. The doctor said she had 2 blood clots and it magically disappeared and no surgery was needed. She is up and very well. She feels that the angiogram caused her heart to stop.
Avatar m tn - Is it typically an interventional cardiologist that does the initial cath and angiogram of lower extremities and legs in the process of treating peripheral artery disease that causes leg or calf cramping? I've had an ultra sound evaluation and the pain of claudication when exercising indicates I have it.
Avatar n tn My husband had a valve replaced about 3yrs ago. Every since he has had severe leg pain starting up in the groin area at night time. Tonight it was in both legs. Dr say it comes with open heart surgery..........?
Avatar f tn I get pain in my calf, front part of leg, and part of the buttocks. I am in pain and used ice to help. I will be calling my doctor Minday and see if I can get an ultra sound. I was told that after 5 days I ca go back to normal and it has not happen yet. I hope everyone who posted before me has had full recovery.
Avatar f tn You will also be given a few pills before the procedure, to thin your blood and lower the risk of clotting. In the UK we are given around 600mg of Plavix, That's 8x75mg pills, but some countries give 300mg. If you have any questions about the procedure, please ask, we have lots of experience to share. I promise you, nothing hurts and it is over before you know it.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.

Avatar n tn When l had an angiogram, l ended up with a large blood clot, in the top of my leg, which l later had to have removed, in order to save my life. Can l take any action against the person that did the original angiogram?
Avatar f tn However, the Dr. refuses to take responsibility for this. My dad is in a great deal of pain, his leg is cold to the touch and he continues to get weaker. He has been on pain meds, tried acupuncture and recently seen a neurologist. The neurologist has said there is nothing that can be done and he will just have to live with it. I was wondering if either of you have found any type of relief or anything that could be of help. I look forward to hearing from you.
Avatar m tn A faster heartbeat does not provide enough time to fill as at rest, and the timing of contractions are less. The percent of blood pumped with each heartbeat is less reducing stroke volume (lower EF). The heart rate has increased to provide the necessary blood/oxygen to meet the system's demand for the diminished stroke volume. The CT scan indicates there is substanital soft plaque buildup within the linings of the vessels.
Avatar m tn I have been told today that my Left Lower part of my heart has a reading of 49% and I will be sent for a further tests in 2 - 3 weeks time. Can this reading cause a heart attack? I am a 60 year old man living alone.
Avatar f tn I had an Angiogram done on March 30th, there was an Angio-seal used, and I was given a card to carry with me for the next 90 days. I had an angiogram done in 2005, which was done the old way, lay for 5 hours after and never looked back. Never needed a painkiller or anything. This time, I can't walk without pain and am in alomost constant pain today from above the site of entry, with a very warm sensation around the site, but to look at the wound, all looks just the same as before.
974371 tn?1424653129 They will put you out, and for the next couple of days after you will be a little sore. Make sure you get out of bed and walk the halls, no need to be afraid, and you will be happy to know what is really wrong with you and your heart. I hope this might of helped you and your concerns.
Avatar f tn The commonest cause of pain in the lower leg is DVT or deep vein thrombosis and clots. This is best diagnosed by duplex ultrasound (color dopplar) or by angiogram. Pain can also be felt post unaccustomed exercise due to muscle strain. Pain in the lower leg area can also be due to pinched spinal nerves in the lumbo-sacral area or a pinched nerve at the knee joint. A nerve conduction study should be done. A MRI of the lumbar spine should also be able to throw some light.
Avatar n tn berlysue, The doctors are concerned that parts of your heart may not be getting enough blood. The doctors will be performing an angiogram to look to see if you have blockages in your coronary arteries (the arteries which supply blood to the heart) which are the cause of your slightly low ejection fraction and wall motion abnormality (which means that part of your heart isn't beating a vigorously as your would like).

1213000 tn?1280463161 On May 19, after a MRI stress test was abnormal and an angiogram showed diffuse restonosis of the LAD stents, I underwent CABG (4X). 10 weeks later, another abnormal MRI stress test and on 30 July another angiogram. the results of thst angiogram was, all stents are now closed, all grafts are open but there is flow irregularities that may be caused by size mismatch between the vein grafts and the native arteries. This is being treated with Metprolol 25 mg and Diltiazem 120.
Avatar n tn I think you have deep vein thrombosis of the deep veins of the leg or maybe valvular dysfunction of the deep veins of the legs. This could be causing venous pooling that is making the legs feel fatigued and heavy. The venous pooling could also be making the fragile spider veins burst causing easy bruising. This could be especially true as this was an unaccustomed exercise. This can be diagnosed by color Doppler or by angiogram of the leg veins or by duplex ultrasound.
Avatar n tn My brother-in-law had a bypass and leg swelling was the right leg. That was the leg of the harvested vessels. The swelling problem seems to be common, however, you may want to contact your father's doctor for confirmation.
Avatar f tn Like I said earlier, it mainly affects the back of my leg and back of my knee in the bend. And its only my right leg. I have a neurologist but I haven't seen him in years. I don't know if this is serious or just something nerve related from an epidural or spinal I've had in the past. Any help would be appreciated! Go to the doctor or not??? Thanks for your time.
