Angiogram in leg

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram in leg

angiogram

Avatar n tn Angiogram, central access line, all are possible, but it should not last three years, I agree! Going in for a second opinion will probably be the best option.
Avatar f tn Heat radiating in the calf especially after a knee surgery could be due to clots in the deep veins of the calf or deep vein thrombosis. A duplex ultrasound or angiogram is required for diagnosis. Please consult a vascular specialist. This may need further treatment with medication and maybe even surgery. Please get this evaluated fast. Take care!

Avatar n tn hey my dad is suppose to go in for an angiogram but he fears what might happen to him if he does. i was wondering if there was possible any alternative procedure or something else he could possibly do.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar n tn When l had an angiogram, l ended up with a large blood clot, in the top of my leg, which l later had to have removed, in order to save my life. Can l take any action against the person that did the original angiogram?

Avatar n tn They did the angiogram because of an abnormal stress echo. Would taking ibuprofen contribute to the bruising?
Avatar m tn My husband had an angiogram days before Christmas they placed a stint in his left leg. for a few weeks, things seem to be fine, the color in his legs was looking better .Then a few days ago his right leg starts hurting to the point he can't walk then the swelling starts up his leg and spreads to the other leg and the groin. He had ultrasounds done and it;s not DVT. He was admitted to hospital where they gave him antibiotics to treat an infection and then discharged him a few days later.
974371 tn?1424653129 I had no choice in the matter because I was rushed in, in an emergency. I was shaking like a leaf. After the local anaesthetic needle, which is just like a needle in your arm pain wise, I have always laid there waiting to feel them cut into me. However, every single time I have opened my eyes to see how far they've got, to find them already inside me. You never feel a thing. Two procedures out of 8 have been easier because they gave me some strong meds to relax me. You can request these.
Avatar n tn The doctors will be performing an angiogram to look to see if you have blockages in your coronary arteries (the arteries which supply blood to the heart) which are the cause of your slightly low ejection fraction and wall motion abnormality (which means that part of your heart isn't beating a vigorously as your would like). It is a simple procedure in which the doctors will pass catheters either from the arm or leg into the heart.
Avatar f tn The only discomfort is the local anaesthetic injection, which stings for about 5 seconds. After that, you wait in anticipation for them to open the artery in your leg, but suddenly you realise that they are already in and doing the work. You feel absolutely nothing. Sometimes they may inject a fair amount of the dye and this can cause a hot sensation in your body. So if you suddenly feel hot for a few seconds, don't panic, it is quite normal.
1235564 tn?1267904820 5mg of Benicar is just a whiff of a dose, particularly in comparison to others who take it, (and statins), in place of diet and exercise. It is almost optional for me to take but I can spike after a day or two if I miss a run or eat something a little too salty. I eat Chinese every day but it is home cooked and without the MSG and sodium. My point is that I have a balanced diet and lead a balanced existence.
1213000 tn?1280463161 In January of this year (2010), I had 4 drug eluting stents placed in the LAD. A week later two more stents, one in the RCA, one in the Ramus. On May 19, after a MRI stress test was abnormal and an angiogram showed diffuse restonosis of the LAD stents, I underwent CABG (4X). 10 weeks later, another abnormal MRI stress test and on 30 July another angiogram.
Avatar n tn My brother-in-law had a bypass and leg swelling was the right leg. That was the leg of the harvested vessels. The swelling problem seems to be common, however, you may want to contact your father's doctor for confirmation.
Avatar f tn I had an angiogram 5 days ago, the first two days I couldn't move my leg too much, the 3rd day I was much better, 4th and 5th day (today) I have quite a bit of pain in the groin area, all around the site of the angiogram, quite a bit of bruising which I was expecting, but I don't know if this is normal or if I should go see a Dr.? The pain is not there all the time only with movement, ie. walking or standing even, if I just lay down it is not painful.
Avatar f tn As well, I have had before some tingling sensations on my right hand side of my head and in my leg. These tingly sensations i have had off and on for about a year now though. But after this test they are worse, mostly the tinglies on my right side of my head, along with the headaches that are all right sided as well. A few days ago as I closed my eyes to kiss my husband no less I saw this huge z shaped bright light even as my eyes were closed. I opened and it was gone.
Avatar n tn My doctor suggested an Angiogram to make sure that something is not being missed. I am a little nervous and thought someone could answer some questions I have? 1. Is this a fairly safe procedure? 2. What are the risks? 3. Do all the serious risk only happen during the procedure? 4. What are the risk 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours after the procedure, meaning how long before you know you are out of the risk zone? 5.
Avatar m tn Pain can also be felt post unaccustomed exercise due to muscle strain. Pain in the calf area can also be due to pinched spinal nerves in the lumbo-sacral area or a pinched nerve at the knee joint. A nerve conduction study should be done. A MRI of the lumbar spine should also be able to throw some light. A deep vein thrombophlebitis or intermittent claudication (spontaneous spasm and relaxation of arteries) can also cause similar symptoms.
Avatar f tn Had a test at opthalmologist (which im still waiting results from) think it was an eye angiogram! Now my headache is fine, my eyesight is still not 100%, iv since developed a bad pain in my left leg which is worsening, i was putting it down to the LP, but now im having this constant excruciating pain in the lower left side of my abdomen, just inwards from my hip also radiating round to my lower back & left leg. Im living on strong pain killers!

Avatar m tn Well I had my angiogram and they found a 90% blockage in my LAD. They put in 2 stents side by side to open it up. I hope this is over now. Thanks to all that have helped me through this.
976897 tn?1379167602 In my last hospital admission, I was speaking with a Cardiologist before my emergency Angiogram. I asked if the catheter could be put through my radial artery rather than the femoral. He said that it isn't a problem even though I've had a Cabgx3. When I got to the Angio-suite I was told "you cannot have anything except the femoral artery used because we don't have images of your bypass and we could take a wrong turning". Personally I find this crazy.
Avatar f tn jlaracuente is right. An angiogram shows all the arteries and if one or two are blocked the drs insert a stent to keep it open. Sometimes if the blockage isn't too bad, they just use a balloon to push the plaque against the artery walls and don't use a stent. The angiogram itself is a series of "pictures". The patient lies down flat, you don't have to be sedated but can request sedation if you're really nervous.
Avatar f tn i had an angiogram 18 months ago and ever since have had right groin, leg and tummy pain limited mobility cant walk easily ,lift leg, ruling my life a scan and nerve conductuion test both fine
Avatar n tn I have had an ECG stress test and a Myoview scan, both of which have shown an abnormal result. I now have to decide whether to have an angiogram but am worried about the risks involved. My cardiologist doesn't seem to think that any problems I have are too severe and that in fact there's a chance that both tests could be giving false positive results. I wondered whether cardiac MRI or cardiac computed tomography are a viable alternative to an angiogram ? Any advice would be appreciated.
