angiogram

Avatar f tn I had a stent and angioplasty 4 months ago. Since then I have pain in in the middle of my back. They would like to do a repeat angiogram. Can this cause scar tissue and or cause any further damage to the heart or vessels? I am 37yrs old with Diabetes of 33 years. No high BP and kidney function is well.
Avatar n tn doctor asked to take an angiogram .is there anything to fear ,since father says he doesnt feel any fatigue or breathlesness .but sometimes after 1 month he says he is feeling little brethless sometime .please clarify me about the nature of disease.
Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar f tn They just wanted to do an Angiogram to see if there were any problems. That is when they found the blockages. My Dr,s were shocked to find them. I had 1 stent put in, and an Angioplasty in the other due to I need a 2 mm stent that is drug eluding, but it is currently not availiab... Since then 11/04 , the stent is now offered. My symptoms have improved, and I feel no pain. Is it wise to still have the stent placed?
Avatar n tn I had an angiogram 7 weeks ago with no sign of blockages, yet I am in constant pain, which worsens when I try to lift. I cant even walk fast and am exhausted, dizzy and nauseated. I had only chest tightness and and mild pain before the test, but was exercising and working, now I am leaving the house only to go to Dr.s appointments.
Avatar f tn Plavix is to be taken with precaution in presence of kidney problems. Cozaar is to be avoided or taken with extreme precaution in CHF. This along with low blood pressure could have prompted your PCP to stop these drugs. For a person to have an angiogram he should be medically in a condition to tolerate the procedure and the dye used. Before doing an angiogram the doctors will do an EKG, an echocardiogram and/or chest X-rays. This is a tough situation.
Avatar n tn I had a widow maker heart attack 1 year ago. I have 2 stents. I am now having kidney pain, with no sign of infection or stones. I am wondering about the stents. Could they have moved? If so what signs do you look for?
Avatar f tn Minor blockages shouldn't cause angina (chest pain due to vessel blockage). But minor blockage with a coronary vessel spasms can cause your symptoms. That condition is not easily diagnosed with the usual tests at ER. What tests have you had? Shortness of breath should be a concern...that was all I needed to be admitted to ER and then ICU for several days for congested heart failure. My SOB felt as if I could not get enough air causing hyperventallation when laying down.
776302 tn?1241091853 Gidday from SuzanneTay. In OZ Australia @lyme_lady. I am terribly sorry firstly to hear u have very cruel "Lyme Disease". Plus complications from the Angiogram. I am deeply sorry to hear this, and this goes for any or ALL people affected by a ANGIOGRAM.
Avatar m tn This is angiogram showing aorta, its branches and renal arteries and kidney outlines are seen. renal vessels provide blood supply to the kidneys.
Avatar n tn I have mid back pain on the left side coming and going for years. It will hit me and I feel like I cant function its so bad. Then when its not flared up I am fine. I always KNOW the pain is there as it is somewhat tender inside now. Also had a spot come up on my ankle that looked like blood pooled under skin after umerious trips to the ER thinking I had blood clots they said maybe superficial blood clot. I read that that can go along with pancreatic cancer.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
Avatar f tn t have the pain during the angiogram however I did have it during the stress test. I am going to speak with my Dr Tomm. I will bring it up too him . when the Dr spoke with me about the results to the angiogram he did say there were spasms however he was not worried about them because it is sometimes triggered by the test.
Avatar m tn Thank you both your posts, yet I still am anxious to talk with docs. I have an appointment scheduled tomorrow. Medicine is currently: Zocor 80mg only. Medcine prescribed is: Lipitor 80mg, Niaspan 500mg, 2 baby asprin, and folic acid (not sure of the dose.) One question is if the surgeon looked at my heart, and said it was still good, and he did not want to do anything, then why would I still be having refered pain? Or is it something else?
Avatar m tn I do have a fake front tooth that they like drilled up into my gums and put it in there by like a wire or something like that, that was done like 12 years ago.I'm a 25 year old otherwise healthy male, here the past 4 days I've noticed that I've been having a very strange taste in my mouth that will not go away no matter how often I brush my teeth. My appetite is horrible, I force myself to eat once a day, I've lost about 7 pounds.
Avatar n tn I stopped metformin abruptly and started birth control around the same week I stopped the metformin, and so suddenly and intensely felt so much pain like I was dying. Its been 3 months and I haven't gotten better, I used to be so happy and hopefull now I feel completely hopeless, uneasy, and cannot enjoy anything. Will I ever get better??!!
Avatar f tn Just being a 73 year-old male puts you in a risk group for coronary artery disease (CAD), so the doctors have to rule that out, but as Flycaster remarked, the type of pain you're having isn't really the typical kind of pain that people have with CAD. The type of pain you are having sounds more musculoskeletal, to me. You could even be having pain from severe GERD or something going on with the esophagus. They have to look at the coronary arteries, though.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
Avatar n tn Angiogram, central access line, all are possible, but it should not last three years, I agree! Going in for a second opinion will probably be the best option.
Avatar m tn Iam 31, 2 Months before i got the chest pain and I immediately rushed to the hospital. They did the ECG and found little changes in V4 - V5. And I went through the angiogram. The angiogram results shows negative. And doctor discharged from hospital with some prescription for 3 months. Still I am getting the pain in center of chest. Two days before I went to doctor and in ECG found the V6 changes in the lead.
Avatar m tn I would describe the pain to be mostly pressure/tightnes in nature, sometimes it could be sharp in nature, the pain shoots down my left arm. The pain lasts anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. I have been prescribed nitroglycerin to take as needed for chest pain and this medicine surely helps. I've had several EKGs and cardiac enzymes done which were all normal. I also had a threadmill/stress test done which was normal.
Avatar m tn The tests indicated a blockage. I am now waiting for an angiogram. They put me on drugs after the test. I am on 1.25mg Monocor, 5mg Norvasc, 10mg Crestor as well as ASA 81mg - one per day. Now I wait for Angiogram. I am quite freaked out. So I am scheduled for an angiogram on Feb 5th. They tell me there are risks in this test. The risk is 1 in 1000 people die, stroke or have a heart attack during this proceedure. My question is this, Should I get a 64-slice Coronary CT Angiography?
Avatar f tn Grammy5680, I feel your pain. My cerebral angiogram was May 16, 2013, and I am still dealing with horrible pain in my right leg and groin, which wakes me up at night. In June, my Neurologist performed an ultrasound and discovered a pseudo-aneurysm and then had to perform an ultrasound guided compression to 'irradiate' it (make it stop). Three months later I remain in great pain. This afternoon, I went to a Vascular specialist who performed another ultrasound.
Avatar m tn very active and no previous medical issues. Nine months ago, I felt as though i was having a heart attack (chest pain, shortness of breath, arm pain/fatique) I have since had numerous MRI's, CAT scans and blood work, urine tests, I even had an angiogram. Nothing seems to be showing up in the tests. I am now having trouble with blood pressure. At rest it will spike to crazy numbers a little while later it will be abnormally low.
Avatar f tn for some reason that same hand is tender over the top of my hand, where they put in the Angiogram camera tubing. I have had a groin Angiogram about 7 years ago. Even though I had this wrist discomfort, I would seriously ONLY ever recommend the wrist Angiogram, should you be reading my experience here.
