angiogram

Avatar f tn I have been vomitting blood for the last 48 hours. I have had endoscopy done but no one can find where the bleeding is stemming from within my stomach. I was given the option that, their is a lot of pressure build up in my spleenic vein, hence the varices that have formed in the stomach and have had angiogram procedure done to plug my spleenic artery, in order to relieve pressure and blood build up.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been having recurrent GI bleeding episodes since 2001. The doctors have rules out H.Pylori, NSAIDS. Everytime the ulcer is at upper duodenum. In the first episode although H.Pylori was ruled out they gave antibiotics and Nexium for couple of weeks. When it happened again after few years they put me on Nexium permanently and then even on Nexium I started getting pains for the past 8-9months and they did a series of tests again and couldn't find anything.
Avatar m tn thanks ed34 for your quick answer. But is it normal to have false-positive EKG stress test?
Avatar n tn I had a CT angiogram for heart this week. Compared to a regular angiogram or catheterization , the CT angiogram can be considered a noninvasive procedure. However, in your dad's case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar f tn If the varices are significant enough cause you to be at risk for bleeding, doctors can perform a procedure called banding to prevent the varices from rupturing. Doctors should not be waiting for a bleeding episode before treating. If you have been diagnosed with varices, you should be speaking with a GI or hepatologist about management. Good luck.
Avatar f tn if anyone can answer this question please do , can i refer myself to a gi or does it have to be done through the doctor because my doctor will probably say that im a panic head and tell me not to worry
Avatar m tn the doctor ordering this 64 slice told me if this test showed any blockage i would then have something to show my cardiologist and then i would need to have conventional angiogram for further investigating. can someone please help explain the differencebetween the 64 slice ct scan over a conventional angiogram and are there any advantiges over one or the other?

1580703 tn?1651904887 Thanks for any advice!! I've been suffering for over 10 years from rectal bleeding (in the past I had cramps before) but after colonoscopy the GI said I only have hemmaroids and GERD and no crohn's disease. But I keep bleeding sometimes a lot with bowel movements every month or two even though I've used these HC 25mg suppositories. Do I have some kind of inflammation or GI disease please?
Avatar n tn Please help, any insight as to what tests I can ask for to get a diagnosis, to see if there is damage caused by the angiogram and hopefully resolve this so I can get back to my life. I have no quality of life now.
548642 tn?1266179652 I agree with Bill, notify your doctor immediately. I've had that and I ignored it for too long. By the time I told a doctor, I had stage 3 cancer. You're pretty young for colon cancer, unless you have a family history, but any rectal bleeding is potentially serious and should be seen as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn Finally had an angiogram where they found my LAD was bridged. They put a stent in and I was fine for a while. Now I am having symptoms again(they don't seem to be the same as before). I am wondering if it isn't something GI from the meds and probably even more likely just anxiety this time. Wondering what they did to treat your bridged artery and if there were any complications after.
Avatar f tn Aspirin can cause bleeding in GI tract.Deficiency of vitamin C results in high cholesterol.Vitamin C and niacin help in reducing cholesterol safely.Vitamin E and omega 3 are anti coagulants.Do not use refined oils, specially sunflower or safflower.Refined sunflower or safflower oils contain neither vitamin E or omega 3.Hence, they are dangerous unless you take lots of vitamin E and omega 3.
Avatar m tn She recovered and was advised to go for further evaluation. Instead of an angiogram, she opted for a heart scan to check for artery blockages. Unfortunately, the cardiologist could not make out much as the scan showed quite a bit of calcium deposits around the heart arteries. She then had an angiogram done about two days ago.
Avatar f tn My son in law had a bleeding aneurysm they put in a shunt and took him to angiogram. They couldn't find where it was. I know even a clotted aneurysm should be coiled.
Avatar f tn * ELEVATED D DIMER TEST RESULTE BUT CLEAR CT ANGIOGRAM. All other exams clear like GI or BLOOD TESTS. They’ve already scanned my brain to my stomach. All except spine. Pain does spread to my spine and back.
Avatar m tn For some insight, the circumflex and LAD branch away from the left main artery (a "Y" on its side if you will). Usually, a stress test is given prior to angioplasty, and a decision may be made at that time for the appropriate treatment. Only your doctor can answer why the angioplasty was terminated prior to implanting a stent! Are you taking medication for your chest pain? What are your symptoms other than chest pain? Why is medical therapy not included as an option.
Avatar m tn I am 26 years old, I am on blood thinners for Blood Clots in my lung from last year. Yesterday i went to the ER for Rectum Bleeding "Bright Red" I have been having bad Abdominal Pins for the past 2 years if not more. The ER said there is nothing they can do. Should i be concern about this? I am making a Dr appt.
Avatar m tn Many cardiologists seem to prefer angiogram. I've had both a ct angio and an angiogram and I didn't feel any difference between the two. I still had the same burning sensations from the dye etc in both procedures. I did look at the images from both scans and the angiogram shows everything in real time, actually working. You see the blood flowing, you see the heart pumping and you see the reactions of the arteries. With the ct angio all I saw was a set of still pictures.
Avatar f tn I have to pay out of pocket for everything and its quite expensive. Thank goodness for financial assistance! State services take for ever but its better than nothing at all. Ahh nothing like the waiting game.
