angiogram

Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar m tn What can be ruled out with a ct angiogram? Can we see what the EF is ? Also can they find any abnormalities in the shap of the heart? And can they see any major valve regurgitatiOn? I'm concerned ? Because some people rather have a conventional angiogram and don't see a ct angiogram useful and I would like to know why??

Avatar f tn My son in law had a bleeding aneurysm they put in a shunt and took him to angiogram. They couldn't find where it was. I know even a clotted aneurysm should be coiled.
Avatar m tn There is a difference between an angiogram and angioplasty. Angiogram is a diagnostic procedure! Angioplasty is therapeutic meaning treatment. Usually, or almost always the diagnostic procedure (angiogram) is performed before there is treatment.
Avatar n tn I'm having a CT angiogram Thursday. It avoids an interventional procedure that has some risk. X-ray exposture presents some risk for cancer, but my non-interventional cardiologist feels a CT angiogram is sufficient and I'm not disputing his recommendation. I had a cath angiogram and a stent 4 years ago, there was no problem as I was in a hospital setting for 3-4 days. However, some people experience a bleeding problem at the site of the cath insertion and pain that lasts several days.
Avatar n tn Some more insight in addition to Flycaster's information. You should get an understanding if the totally blocked arteries have developed a natural bypass (collateral vessels, angiogeneisis growth) that is now supplying the area with blood/oxygen. I and others on this forum have totally blocked arteries and manage very well without intervention (by-pass). You my not need a bypass or a stent.
Avatar f tn I had an angiogram done on 2/18/09. I was told I would be put to sleep but was not. So I felt everything. The pressue put on my groin after was extremely painful! I had to stay in the hospital overnight because after they took the cath out my blood pressure dropped. I went home in dire pain. Today is the 17th and while I still have a bit of pain in my groin area, the REAL pain is when I have a BM or I urinate. Is this unusual?
Avatar f tn my Dad is 67 years old and had memory loss ,slurred speech due to two little block in brain and blockage in internal carotid artery . Avatar f tn are down to this condition and not the severe blockage diagnosed 3 years ago in my R C. Artery. As two days ago, after a further Angiogram, I was told that it was no longer blocked and my Arteries were clear. Presumably I just carry on as norm. and deal with the prevailing symptoms as and when they occur. I need to know what impact it will have on my life. What can I do, or not do, as the case may be. Will it become a larger leak. I need answers to be able to live with it.
Avatar f tn I have had endoscopy done but no one can find where the bleeding is stemming from within my stomach. I was given the option that, their is a lot of pressure build up in my spleenic vein, hence the varices that have formed in the stomach and have had angiogram procedure done to plug my spleenic artery, in order to relieve pressure and blood build up. I have been informed by the GI team that if this does not work, then removal of the spleen is my final option.
Avatar n tn I did see a doctor initially who said there was bleeding behind the retina caused by stress. He said it may come and go but was not serious. It is troublesome that it comes back. It had been atleast a year of clear vision until now.
Avatar f tn My husband in 2004 had a brain injury fractured skull and bleeding in the brain Epidural Hematoma at the Occipital and left Temporal area. Then about a year later his Cerebellum started to Atrophy and the Dr.'s can't explain why they are stumped. Question: When my husband lifts his head hyperextends as to look up passed midpoint eye level his right ear goes deaf the left ear the sound is like he is in a tunnel everything goes white and he passes out.
Avatar m tn i have been told i suffered from bleeding in the brain ,the bleeding has stopped ,my doctor has given me almost no info about this,it showed up on a ct for headaches i had 5 ct scans and an mri ,an eeg and ultrasound , all i have been told is that the bleeding stopped on its own ,and some things we can control ,some we can't does this sound reasonable ? i have no symptoms of stroke ,and was told the headaches were not caused by the bleeding.
Avatar m tn As an example, my nuclear scan showed excellent results, but I had already had an angiogram. My angiogram showed a completely blocked LAD and a blockage in my LCx. My right artery was also totally blocked halfway down. Collateral vessels played a huge role. The amount of radiation used is not that high and risks are low.
Avatar n tn I had an angiogram 7 weeks ago with no sign of blockages, yet I am in constant pain, which worsens when I try to lift. I cant even walk fast and am exhausted, dizzy and nauseated. I had only chest tightness and and mild pain before the test, but was exercising and working, now I am leaving the house only to go to Dr.s appointments.

Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I am a nurse. My mom recently had gone to her Optomistrist noticing there was a change in her Left eye vision. She has quite deep Myopia as well. So what she describe it as: during focus/concentration at one spot the peripheral side of her left eye field of view is distorted, the lines especially become wavy. So then she was referred to go to her ophthalomogist.

Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
