Common Questions and Answers about Amoxil gram positive

Avatar m tn Hi, further to my previous question about an encounter with a Thai csw I would value your advice. I asked the doctors but it seems my post was deleted and I don't know why, so I am asking here. I did urine tests and was negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. However there was gram positive cocci (few) present which the doctor has given me antibiotics for. Obviously given the context of all of this I am quite scared again.
Avatar f tn But did show a little bit of gram positive cocci? What is gram positive cocci? I’ve been feeling a slight numbness and warm/cold feeling in my leg could it be caused by this? The nurse said there was only a little?
Avatar f tn A friend had unprotected sex with a lady he had known for quite a while now, many days later he started discharge and experiencing acute penile itchiness. He took some Amoxil that was prescribed to him for a previous sinus infection, and the itchiness reduced drastically, the discharge stopped too. He thinks it's penile yeast infection, but I told him Amoxil makes yeast infection worse so it couldn't possibly be. He is too shy to go see a doctor. Can Amoxil cure yeast infection?
5042338 tn?1362733616 I have just seen a dermatologist and he did a blood test which confirms that as well as influenza I have also tested positive for streptococcus!!! He said that a temporary case of psoriasis can occur when you have this plus drug rash, So looks like a combo! He has given me an ointment of steriod plus vitamin D cream to apply. I have used it for two days now. Rash is not much different - maybe a little lighter. He said sometimes these rashes can last 2-3months!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Borrelia is neither gram negative nor gram positive, but in the past, it was mistakenly thought to be gram negaive. Some old publications out there still call it gram negative (incorrectly). Here is a good biological description. http://textbookofbacteriology.net/Lyme.html Bartonella has been known to cause skin lesions. Have you been tested at IGeneX for it? You might want to get tested for both b.henselae and b.quintana (I don't know who offers tests b.quintana.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected oral from a sex worker (drunken stupidity), and about three weeks, later, got symptoms of burning, urge to go,and a clear discharge etc, I was treated, before test results got back with doxy, 100x2 daily, and my GF was treated with 1 gram of Azithromycin in one treatment though her doctor (although she showed almost no symptoms just slight sore throat), She is fine, i'm still having symptoms of a sore throat, it will once in a while feel...
Avatar f tn 100000 mixed gram positive flora. What exactly is mixed gram positive flora, gram positive bacteria? also did not do clean catch, I also had routine blood test and when trying o give urine sample the blood was dripping down my are, had to set cup down to clean arm, and did not do midstream. results said probable contamination, why is this?
Avatar m tn We had to make the doctor send us for a sputum test which the gram stain showed moderate gram positive bacilli, moderate gram positive cocci, and few gram negative bacilli, as well as moderate wbc.
Avatar m tn As I browsed the net and read some articles, I have learned that gonorrhea is not gram positive cocci, it is gram negative. Prior to my sexual contact, I experienced a little similar to that like a little difficulty in urinating because I don't drink much water and I took a lot of supplements in the gym like creatine wherein I only learned lately that it can affect your kidneys or can cause UTI.
Avatar m tn The gram positive cocci is most likely normal bacteria that is present in the area where the swab was collected. Unless the doctor said you had an infection with a particular bacteria, it sounds like skin bacteria. He would have given you an antibiotic if he thought was abnormal. gram positive cocci normally live on skin and in various body sites. If you have further problems such as a very high fever I wouldn't worry about it.
Avatar n tn old son has had (what 3 doctors) have diagnosed as Erythema Nodosum, but without the change in color (no redness -- rarely a faint pink on the thigh nodules) for the past two years. Three positive strep throat cultures from 1/2006 to 2/2007. No positive strep test since 2/2007. His ASO titer has been between 800 and 1010 range for the last 2 years (last week's 1000).

Avatar f tn gram positive bacilli - occasional gram negative bacilli - many gram positive coccobacilli - rare epithelial cells - moderate polymorphonuclear cells - occasional 1) does this mean i am still not cured of candida? 2) does this mean i still have an infection? 3) do i have to continue with the medication (neopenotran)? 4) should i keep changing OB's? i would really appreciate your responses.
Avatar n tn If it is gram negative bacteria, its not easily treated. Gram positive bacteria like MRSA (staph infections) are typically not resistant to antibiotics as appose to gram negative which are. It is possible to treat the problem but if the infection is in your blood stream although the bacteria is killed, endotoxin (in the cell wall or core of bacteria) is hard to clean from your blood. It attacks your tissues and causes inflamation.
