The correct answer is "maybe". Amoxicillan is effective against only certain varieties of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The intestinal infection may be due to a bacteria against which this antibiotic is not effective. A single antibiotic is never used to combat helibactor plylori infections. Three antibiotics are used at the same time.
In the case of tb, for example, there are 16,000 varients of the bacteria. There are bacteria that are anaerobic and those that are not. There gram positive and gram negative. As for the side effects file a drug reaction form at the FDA site. There are many different reactions to what are similar antibiotics. For example many people tolerate Cipro, a fluoroqinalone and cannot tolerate Levaquin, a similarly structed antibiotic.

Hi, further to my previous question about an encounter with a Thai csw I would value your advice. I asked the doctors but it seems my post was deleted and I don't know why, so I am asking here.
I did urine tests and was negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. However there was gram positive cocci (few) present which the doctor has given me antibiotics for.
Obviously given the context of all of this I am quite scared again.
Would 1 gram, 3x daily (3 grams daily) of Amoxicillin for 10 days kill Chlamydia and Gonnorea?

This may infer it’s a Gram-positive bacterial strain or strains. I’ve used metronidazole with almost the same outcome.
Saccharomyces boulardii (Sb) has been used in the medical world with other antibiotics against various bacterial strains with great success. I’ve use Amoxicillin with negative and worsening results on PATM but when combined with Sb, the result was unbelievably positive. Saccharomyces boulardii is known to secrete proteases (antitoxins) that counter some bacterial toxins.
Borrelia is neither gram negative nor gram positive, but in the past, it was mistakenly thought to be gram negaive. Some old publications out there still call it gram negative (incorrectly). Here is a good biological description.

Bartonella has been known to cause skin lesions. Have you been tested at IGeneX for it? You might want to get tested for both b.henselae and b.quintana (I don't know who offers tests b.quintana.
Augmentin is a combination drug, amoxicillin plus clavulanic acid. Only the amox is active ageist syphilis. I would take 1 gram amoxicillin 3-4 times a day for 4 weeks. It will cause a lot of diarrhea, which is one reason penicillin shots are preferred.

Your dose was half of that spread out over 3 doses. I think it's highly unlikely that it would have any effect.

As I browsed the net and read some articles, I have learned that gonorrhea is not gram positive cocci, it is gram negative. Prior to my sexual contact, I experienced a little similar to that like a little difficulty in urinating because I don't drink much water and I took a lot of supplements in the gym like creatine wherein I only learned lately that it can affect your kidneys or can cause UTI.
The gram positive cocci is most likely normal bacteria that is present in the area where the swab was collected. Unless the doctor said you had an infection with a particular bacteria, it sounds like skin bacteria. He would have given you an antibiotic if he thought was abnormal. gram positive cocci normally live on skin and in various body sites. If you have further problems such as a very high fever I wouldn't worry about it.
