I have a dentist appointment and have periodontis and know that I will have to have an antibiotic given to me. I am afraid that it will throw my heart into a chaotic rythym that could drop me. What about amoxcicillan?
That same day, I went to the ER and had it drained and was put on Amoxil. Now, 1 day later, the abscess seems to have grown in size. Should I get it re-drained? Do I need a root canal?
I have had thyroditis about 20 years ago and was left with small nodule. My last ultrasound reads: "Both thyroid lobes are small measuring up to 3.5 cm in lenght. Parechyma within the mid gland on the right is focally heterogenous, but a discrete nodule is difficult to identify" . My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. A friend had unprotected sex with a lady he had known for quite a while now, many days later he started discharge and experiencing acute penile itchiness. I would like to know what, in your opinion, caused my symptoms to return? Could it be that I reacted positively to Amoxil-Clav and me being symptom free was due to its residual effect? Could it be that bacteria became resistant to Amoxicillin? I was taking 2000mg Amoxicilin a day. I also made quite a break when changing medication. I took Amox-Clav pills at 9 in the evening, and next dose of antibiotic at 2pm another day.
It would be nice if anyone would answer if cipro is an ok antibiotic for a tooth infection. I had a crown come off and dentist said I needed root canal. they tried but said root was too narrow and I had to go to specialist. They gave me a prescription for amoxil for one other tooth, but I didn't6 fill it because it was just sensitive one day.
But now the one they were working on has flared up and the gum is swollen and red.

s the correct antibiotic. Dental infections can be from either an aerobic bacteria or anaerobic bacteria. Having the correct antibiotic is VERY important.
I urge you to at least call your dentist for approval before you treat a dental abscess yourself.
Amoxicillin may be fine, but you may need something like clindamycin instead.
Also, it's very important that a FULL dose is taken for dental infections.
Hi, about a year ago I had a filling in my upper right molar that broke and was re-drilled and replaced with a large filling. It's the tooth that's 2nd from the back not including the wisdom tooth which i had removed 5 years ago.
So, a year ago when I had it re-filled it was rather "sore" for a couple months, and I experienced and on and off low grade fever for many months as well.
By Friday she would not eat anything and screamed if we tried to use the mouth wash on a cotton swab. We took her to the doctor that day. They were not sure and put her on Amoxil. It is now Sunday she is still screaming when we go near her tooth/gums and is bleeding at the touch of the cotton swab
Her mother and I are worried and do not know what to do next. She has a follow up with the dentist on Wednesday this week. What should we do? Should the Amoxil be working if it is an infection?
t been feeling that great and the doc prescribed Prevacid at 30mg twice a day along with 1g of Amoxil and Biaxin. My H. Pylori test came back negative so I could stop the Amoxil and Biaxin. It might take a while but he tells me it will work.
On the other hand, a friend of mine had severe reflux and the doc prescribed Protonix. It worked so well that they were able to get off of it and only use it when they feel a flare up coming on (every couple months).
He has taken a multitude of oral antibiotics --Amoxil 875 Mg 2x day for 14 days, to straight penicillin, Rifampin 300 Mg 2x day for 10 days, Clindamycin. Nothing seems to rid him of these nodules or lower his ASO titer. Overall crummy feeling most of the time. Headaches, leg aches, joint aches, back ache, neck ache. Any suggestions?
s what i had - went to doc, she did a strep test and said it was neg but treated me with a drug called amoxil, it was 875mg twice/day told her about the oral sex, so she had me take 3.5pills the first day and then finish the course normally. throat looked better, still tiny bit sore in 7 days. I am seeing a girl here, we have protected sex though our condom did break once and we replaced it after realizing - maybe 2 minutes later. This was about 2 days after starting the amoxil.

I have a one year old son that has had 3 ear infections since Jan. He was put on amoxil and had an allergic reaction so he has been taking omnicef. The Dr told us this week that the omnicef has not done anything and that he was going to give him a round of antibiotic shots. So far my son has had 2 of the 3 shots. My first question is how quickly do these shots work? My other question is: Is there some underlying problem that is causing these ear infections, something more serious?
What antibiotic were you on? Quite a few are safe during pregnancy. Some are not.
The doctors ran tests and he had stool in his blood. The doctor gave him CYPROS (antibiotic) for a total of 6 days. He had several CT scans and lately a barium to show the leak is still there with no fistulas. Following the barium, he had a bit of stool coming out of his rectum. My question is, should he not be on antibiotics until this leak repairs itself or should he go back to the OR? If he has a colonostomy, does some bowel still pass in the colon?
2 doses of antibiotics (500mg amoxil, 3/day, 7 days ... then pms-azithromicin (5 day treatment) ... sort of helped ... but not fully resolved ... noticed inflammed, swollen/irritated papillae under tongue (both sides of tongue and also under front of tongue also). Salivary glands swollen. Not resolving ... getting chills every so often ... feeling cold every so often also ... trying to see an ENT ..they are so busy in Canada ... approx 2 months to see one .... Help !!!
it's 3000mg or 3 grams of medication.
if you are still having symptoms, return to be seen again for a proper exam and testing. never in your best interest to guess and just randomly throw antibiotics at a problem.
It appears to be a small internal stye on my lower eyelid. My eye doc gave me amoxil by mouth and tobramycin drops. It immediately responded and was doing much better until about day 8. I went back to the eye doc and he gave me a z-pak to take orally and changed they eye drops to zymaxid. I am on day 3 of that now and am worried it isnt responding like it should. I still have some pain (which as lessened), but I have had a big bag of fluid under my eyelid.
