A friend had unprotected sex with a lady he had known for quite a while now, many days later he started discharge and experiencing acute penile itchiness. He took some Amoxil that was prescribed to him for a previous sinus infection, and the itchiness reduced drastically, the discharge stopped too. He thinks it's penile yeast infection, but I told him Amoxil makes yeast infection worse so it couldn't possibly be. He is too shy to go see a doctor. Can Amoxil cure yeast infection?

Also, to ensure that you do not get a bladder infection, try taking cranberry tablets (crantabs) usually 300mg in a pill and take two pills 2 or 3 times a day. If you drink cranberry juice, make sure it is not sweetened and is at least 27% pure cranberry juice or it won't be potent enough. Head to you nearest health food store and ask them what they would recemmend too. Yeast thrive on sugar, the the less refined sugar you consume, the better off you should be. Hope this helps.

I was given amoxil in hospital when I went into preterm labour. Im not sure what the dosage was tho. I know its a pretty strong but standard antibiotic that usually gives me a yeast infection! I'd wait and talk to your ob about anything you're not sure about but I have a feeling it will be ok.

I recently went to my GP with terrible sore throat and swollen glands. My GP suspected I had Glandular fever and bacterial infection in throat. She prescribed me with Amoxicillan. About a week after completing the 5day course, I broke out in a hideous red rash all over my body. It is itchy as well. I went back to the GP who then did a further blood test and nasal/throat swabs. The result came back that I actually had Influenza and NOT Glandular fever!!!

You should take your daughter immediately to a dentist or the ER to get the abscess drained and possibly get IV antibiotics to help control the infection. An infection into the neck region is very dangerous and potentially life threatening.

Need help, advice. About 5 weeks ago got a throat infection. 2 doses of antibiotics (500mg amoxil, 3/day, 7 days ... then pms-azithromicin (5 day treatment) ... sort of helped ... but not fully resolved ... noticed inflammed, swollen/irritated papillae under tongue (both sides of tongue and also under front of tongue also). I have had an eye infection now for about 3 weeks. It appears to be a small internal stye on my lower eyelid. My eye doc gave me amoxil by mouth and tobramycin drops. It immediately responded and was doing much better until about day 8. I went back to the eye doc and he gave me a z-pak to take orally and changed they eye drops to zymaxid. I was told I have slightly elevated nitrate, which could mean a bladder infection, but it was caught early enough for me not have any symptoms. Doc is prescribing me some meds that I will be taking for seven days.

Your Dr should have taken a urine sample at that appt and tested for infection. They are super common, so I would get tested regardless of where the baby is.

You definitely need to call your doctor because bladder infections and uti's can hurt the baby if not treated properly. I know how it is, I've had chronic uti's and bladder infections since i was little. What i do is drink a gallon of cranberry juice in a day, pee as much as possible.

So I got a bladder infection back in December. Took antibiotics but didn't do anything. Went to my family doctor on the 8th to get new antibiotic and got some. Soo this morning I peed blood and called the doctor right away..
