Also, i dont know if you know, but amoxicillin is an antibiotic which treats infections, i'm not sure why you would be using it for sickness (if i understood your question)
Took my boxer to the vet an hour ago, and have been told he has been poisoned by something, but I cannot think what. The only thing that fits into the timescale is the amoxicillin he was taking up to a week ago. He is showing all the classic severe side effects, lethargy, vomiting, diarreah, pale gums, no bleeding anywhere though.
Could the antibiotics he was taking be the cause?
Feb. 16th was the start of the crippling diarrhea. April 1st I made a trip to the walk-in clinic, unable to bear it any longer. Started Alinia (an anti-diarrheal medication, which I can't find evidence that actually does anything to kill the parasite, only treats the diarrhea) the next day. 50 mg for 3 days. The treatment seemed to work, but my GI tract still hasn't gone back to "normal". Since the crypto, I have been on 3 different antibiotics in the last 3 months.
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?

I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?

I was told by a doctor I might have a chest infection so she put me on 500mg of amoxicillin three times a day. I'm also on diazepam for muscle spasms and anxiety. I cannot remember is she said it was ok go take them both together.

We have a dog, "Sparky" 4 yr old white shepard yellow lab mix. My wife is very concerned about the treats I give him. Amoxicillin + metronidazole may be more effective than amoxicillin alone. After extraction , amoxicillin, metronidazole, Tylenol, and Advil are effective post op pharmacological intervention, which yields minimal post op discomfort.
Amoxicillin is not a treatment for a cold. It treats bacterial infections, and a cold doesn't come from bacteria, it comes from a virus. If you were just asking the doctor for amoxicillin because you were worried about STDs and were using the cold as a pretext, while it's surprising the doctor played along, at least you know.

If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.
Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?
