he again gave a me a shot in the but of antibiotics and then same antibiotic again amoxicillin/clav 875 mg. after a few days the pain lessened but it is still there. know 6 days into the antibiotic i still have some pain althought it is not as bad as it was a week ago. i only have 4 days of antibiotics left and still got some ear pain. it is on both ears. every time i move my jaw or yawn i can hear my ears crackling. i got some ringing too.
I went to the doctor the other day because of post-nasal drip (followed by cold and sore throat on multiple ocassions), and she diagnosed me with sinus infection and put me on amoxicillin with clavulanic acid (875+125 dosage). However when the time came for me to take my pill, I realized I was unable to swallow it, even if I break it in half.
Longstory short, I demanded that they performed a sperm culture and voila, positive for e coli resistant to cipro (probably thats why levo didnt work), bactrim and amoxicillin. However it was sensible to amoxicillin clavulanic, fosfomycine, nitrofurantoin and imipenem. So the doctor choice was amox clav 4 weeks and 1 dose of fosfomycice 3 g every week.
My question is: if my ecoli is resistant to amox but sensible amox clav is it the best choice?

I was taking Amoxicillin 875 mg twice a day for ten days for a strep infection. I have been taking Microgestin Fe 1/20 for a year. No where on the Amoxicillin bottle did it warn about messing with birth control. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend within the first couple of days of taking Amoxicillin. Now my period is late and I am concerned that I may be pregnant. What are my chances?
I wound die if I gave it to my wife. I had a sinus infection and was put on 875 mg of amox-clav twice per day starting that same day. I also took 1000 mg of azithromycin that day as well. Should I be worried about anything? I'm driving myself crazy worrying. Every secretion from my pen is freaks me out. It's been five days since the oral occurred. Thank you.
ve had throat pain for almost 3 weeks now, and ive been tested positive for strep, taken amoxicillin (875 mg), and been back to the doctor very recently. They did a blood test on me to see if its mono and a throat culture as well. Results for that coming back on Monday. I am just curious as to what you all are thinking on what this is? I was prescribed a Z-pack and I threw it up so I was prescribed me Amoxicillin (10 days; 875 mg tablet - 2 times a day) and the pain went away. Two days after I stopped the antibiotics the pain returned. I went back to the doctor they said it might be an abcess and if the pain got worse I would have to go the the ER to get it drained and they prescribed me amoxicillin (500 milligrams - 3 times a day).
I have had a sinus infection for 9 months and on my third antibiotic treatment as well as a root canal. About 3 weeks ago I visited my GP for a sinus infection. He prescribed Curam Duo Forte (Amoxicillin) 875/125g twice daily for 10 days. The rash appeared after my doctors visit but before I started the treatment. Although the rash has not advanced it is still present. So my questions are 1) would the Amoxicillin I took for the sinus issue would also treat syphilis if it is the cause of the rash?
Take the Agumentin (amoxicillin and clav) with a full glass of water when you take it and try to have food with it. That helps with stomach issues. They do often use that dose BID, or twice a day (12 hours) but TID is also done. The issue is that teeth are close to the brain, right? Dentists do not play around when knocking out an infection. And Amoxicillin is very commonly used at higher doses now (due to resistance). The clavulanate doesn't go up, just the amoxicillin).
Another thing to add, I didn't see the bumps until day 4 after the encounter. I was doing some yard work, came in to shower and that's when I noticed them. I also took some leftover Amoxicillin just to be precautious, but I only had 4 875 mg tablets. The bumps showed up on day 2 of taking those (1 every 12 hours).
