Doctor has also presribed Hydrochlorot, 25 mg, Triam/HCTZ 37.5-25, Amlodipine, 5 mg. Each of these are taken 1 x daily. Other medications include Zetia for elevated cholesteral and Naproxen for severe osteoarthritis.
I note on side effects that vomiting is listed but not how often. Has anyone experienced similiar episodes. Pat M.
My husband usually sacrifices "his orgasm" because the pain afterwards is very bad. Its not in his genital area. It seems like a bad head rush. He must stand up immediately, tilts head backwards as if looking at the ceiling. Then after about 1-2 min of this, he must lie down because he gets sharp pains in arm,shoulder & neck area. He takes bisoprolol hctz 5mg/6.25 and amlodipine 5 mg for high blood pressure. He has had his heart checked(they ran the dye) and no blockage.
My long time meds are for blood pressure... Amlodipine 5mg and lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25mg. Oh and lamotrigine 50 mg for the last two weeks. I quit heavy drinking a about 8 days ago reneeding hospitalization fot 4 days due to extreme withdrawal. Anyway as of today I'm noticing definite noticeable hand tremors. I'm wondering if it's from my combination of meds?
Doctor Said I was healthy. I was put on Losartan 100/mg -Hctz 25mg shortly after my Bp was over 140/80 a couple visits to the doc.
It now runs 135/75 when I check it usually sometimes 127, or 142 just depends I guess. I exercise, I eat pretty healthy, I'm young and I'm really wondering how to deal with this? I'm doing all I can, the doctor has me on meds at 22yrs old, I know of all the deadly outcomes of high bloodpressure and how it increases with age. How do my readings look?
s and on blood pressure meds since then. now am on AMLODIPINE BESYLATE 10 MG , ONE DAILY , ATENOLOL 100 MG. 2 TIMES DAILY, LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20/12.5 MG 2 TIMES DAILY. am also a diabetic , this is under control. the last time i went to my doctor my blood pressure was 156/66 and my doctor was disappointed as was i. am overweight and she chewed me out for not exersising like i should and agree to this. since my last doctor visit i have started walking 30 min.
I was put on BP medication in January 2012. I started off with Amlodipine and Lisinopril and the Lisinopril darned near killed me. The prescribing doctor WOULD NOT take me off it so I just stopped taking it and made an appointment with another doctor.
I have been taking 12.5 mg of Metoprolol and 10 mg Amlodipine for about 3 months. I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan.
m currently taking hydrochloric thiazides 25mg one a day I start a new medicine to combine with it tomorrow 5mg amlodipine to take with the hctz. Hope I get it controlled I'm active 22 yr old male, and no extra salt and I can't keep it down idk what to do I'm worried about the damage it will do to my body.
I started out with Dyazide - a Diuretic - for many years until my kidneys gave up. Then I was put on Metoprolol Succinate - a Betablocker - but I never had Arrhythmia, although some PVC's, and the side effects were too much for me. Next thing Amlodipine - Calcium channel blocker, again, couldn't take the side effects. Now it is Lisinopril/Hctz - ACE inhibitor with some Diuretic - for a about three years now.
I am taking Losartan HCTZ 25 mgs and just added is Amlodipine 25 mg. I have been taken medication since Aug 012 with little success. I am very stressed and just started with a counselor to help with with tramatic experiences that I have gone through as a child and stress as an adult.
I have never used a salt shaker, I've never smoked or ever drank alcohol. I'm 44 and I do not really eat healthy although I try and am not as active as I should be. I am 5'2" and weigh 205lbs.
I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
I am taking HCTZ for about 16 days but after 12 days it is causing me chest pain off and on. It starts after 2 hours of taking the tablet and prolongs for another six hours. Can somebody help me on this. My doctor says it doesn't happen with HCTZ. Thanks.
I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
I have been on cozaar for 15 years. 4 years ago I was also placed on HCTZ, due to increasing BP. 7 weeks ago, after getting quarterly labs done, my PCP said my calcium was too high and took me off the HCTZ. She also said my TSH levels were high and placed me on synthroid. Last week I had office visit and my BP was 150/90. My doctor then put me on metaprolol. I started getting headaches every day. My BP remained at 150 to 160 over 90 to 100.
I've been lactating and wasn't sure if I was pregnant. My doctor did a blood test to see if I was and also did a hormone test to see why I was lactating if by chance I wasn't pregnant. Also at that visit she put me on hctz because I've been retaining water and wanted me to take it every other day. She called yesterday morning to let me know that I am in fact pregnant, this was after I had just taken the hctz. She of course toldme not to take it anymore..
I had a problem before with Potassium loss from HCTZ. I was taken off of it when I went to the emergency ward, for certain symptons. My pressure is fine now unless Im in a Dr.s office. .... Now I take Fosinopril 40 and Verapamil 80 twice a day which is working perfectly.. The last docter wanted to try me on HCTZ once more telling me to drink alot of orange juice. After a month of taking it he realized I dont need them. My pressure goes up with anxiety of docters.
I had so many test ran that finally they diagnosed me with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. Thursday I had a right heart cather that showed I do not have PPH. We were going to fix the valve but they thought it would damage my lungs. In the mean time, I can't breath, my heart feels like it flip flops in my chest, chest pains, dizziness, swelling in my leg, fatigued and no activity at all due to the symptoms through out the day.
Went to Doctor on Wednesday. I've been lactating and suspect pregnancy but maybe not. Dr. put me on HCTZ for fluid retention cause I've gained 20 lbs since January and also did lab work to see if pregnant and check my hormones to see if I'm not pregnant why I would be lactating. Got a call Friday- she said I'm pregnant- stop taking HCTZ. I had already made an appointment with my other Dr.
I am a 43 year old hypopara patient. I used HCTZ for 10 years to control my blood calcium. Last year, I got one morning and my heart rate when up to 128. My endo took me off HCTZ and my internal put me on Lopressor. I contued having a high heart rate after HCTZ was out of my system. This year, I was put back on HCTZ due to high urine calcium content but I could not tolerate the drug at all.
I've never had a history of high blood pressure until recently after a sudden death in the family. I've been put in Lisinopril 10 mg for one week and now on Lisinopril 10mg with Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) 12.5 because it wasn't dropping as low as the PCM wanted (128/90s). I've read a lot of horror stories of HCTZ causing severe visual problems such as closed-angle glaucoma and other vision losses. Has anyone experienced this with BP medications such as the one mentioned?
