Avatar f tn Had a large tumor and total thyroidectomy removed 3 weeks ago. The past few days having dull but strong headaches that go into my ear, down my jaw into my neck. I'm taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine a day and 2 Calcitrol a day. My calcium was very low after surgery.
Avatar m tn The usual answer looking at Amalodipine side effects is swollen feet or/and more common is swollen ankles. I find that this is not the case with me, and want to know my problem. I get spongy feet, where I feel the part of my feet between underside of foot and the underside of bone feels spongy when I walk, it is very uncomfortable, it does not happen all the time but is uncomfortable about 3 days in 7.
Avatar f tn The S- isomer of amlodipine or Asomex® is being studied in clinical trials and may lead to side effects such as fatigue or tiredness, dizziness or fainting, headache, flushing, or swelling of the legs or ankles. Side effects of amlodipine are generally mild and reversible. If the foot tingling and muscle twitching persists, it is best that you have this evaluated further by a neuroloigst to rule out possible neurological causes.
Avatar m tn My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
Avatar m tn I doubt this combination would be approved if it was dangerous. But all drugs may have side effects, and if you get bothersome side effects, you should report them to your doctor. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I was prescrbed metoprolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg. I have been taking this medine for a year. I have been regularly checking my BP ever since. It comes to 130/75mm/hg within a month. But Still I am taking the same dosage. My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
Avatar m tn Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
Avatar f tn Hi I've had a positive ANA ranging between 1:80 and 1:160. I have also been testing positive for U1-RNP range considered positive is 81 or higher I was reading at 114. Now all of the sudden my U1-RNP is considered normal at 60? I have not been on any medication this far except vitamin D 50,000 and amlodipine 10mgs 1 per day. I've been having severe muscle weakness. My dr. sent me to a vascular dr. To have a muscle biopsy done.
Avatar n tn I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.
20003202 tn?1488258062 Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Is there a cleaner medication with better results and less side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am desperate....
Avatar n tn I have taken as much as 200 mg of Metoprolol to slow down a fast HR... but it gave me too many side effects. I now take 50 mg of Metoprolol and have added a Calcium Channel Blocker to help lower my HR. So, my treatment reason is different than yours, but I share for whatever value you may find in my "story".
15481674 tn?1440853541 How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications...
Avatar m tn Another doctor recommended sertagress - 25 (Sertaline HCL 25 mg) and Ativan 1 mg (lorazepam 1 mg) tablets which I took for 6 months but they were not helping, had nasty side effects and I still had sleep issues, thus I tapered them off over 3 months. I am no longer taking sertagress or any sleep medicine.
Avatar f tn Since then I’ve read some very concerning info about the side effects on men as well as too many amlodipine toxicity. If my son were writing this I’m sure he would say that he would very much like everything to function properly as a young man of 27. What determines what type of blood pressure medication a patient is prescribed? Why does a doctor put a patient on a calcium channel blocker as opposed to a different class of BP medication?
Avatar m tn The only way to see is to visit your Doc and explain your symptoms. I think your meds are the key here but they shouldn't be given to you if they make you feel worse. The whole idea of meds is to improve you. You won't believe how many meds I've tried. For example, a few years ago my Doc said "I'm going to try you on Nicorandil, it's a blood pressure pill prescribed to old people and I've never had a complaint".
Avatar f tn I am NOT a doctor. You should only accept medical advice from a licensed professional.
Avatar f tn Your husband is on several meds for bp, so side-effects / interaction effects from those meds would probably be the first thing to consider. He should talk to his doctor about the symptom he has to rule out other causes and maybe consider a change in medications. Best of luck...
5622178 tn?1371099228 Hi Mortex, They say a mans penis cant shrink, unless you have put on a lot of weight then the penis get caught up in the folds of fat, and if you then lose all the weight gained then it should come back, as for you other side effects, I would google them all to see if the side effects match what you now getting, Do hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.
Avatar m tn t make much sense unless you are having side effects. A risk of a larger dose vs. smaller dose may be the reason...less toxicity in the system.
Avatar f tn My long time meds are for blood pressure... Amlodipine 5mg and lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25mg. Oh and lamotrigine 50 mg for the last two weeks. I quit heavy drinking a about 8 days ago reneeding hospitalization fot 4 days due to extreme withdrawal. Anyway as of today I'm noticing definite noticeable hand tremors. I'm wondering if it's from my combination of meds?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Enalapril 5mg for the last two weeks for high blood pressure, i have started getting a sensation that my heart is missing beats and get the occassional twinge of pain in the chest , i also have been getting alot of stomach pain, could this be the side effects of the Enalapril Maleate tablets?
Avatar f tn A doctor should guide these decisions. Unwanted side effects like cough are considered by doctors and weighed against the desired effect of the medication. Risks verses benefits ratio. Doctors also use medications in ways that aren't always in the literature. Try to view your mother's doctor as her ally in health to guide you through these hurdles. Let us know what you find out.
