Avatar n tn Are you having chest pain related to the gastritis? This medication can be used for that purpose.
Avatar m tn Seven weeks ago, in the middle of the night, I had gripping pain in both my wrists, which then spread to my chest. My blood pressure (amazingly and for the first time in my life), shot up from my regular 130/90 to 200/120, and that too for no known reason. Pulse remained normal at 75/m. At my doctor's clinic, I was given anti-hypertensive drugs, but BP refused to come down. At CCU in hospital, I was diagnosed with having had a minor heart attack.
Avatar m tn My chest pain has gotten worse and I am profoundly short of breath since increasing the Amlodipine from 5mg to 10mg. My Cardiologist is very disinterested in pursuing this. He has not come out and called me a liar, but treats me like I am making things up. Is it safe for me just to live this way? Can I go about my life as best I can consuming nitro like tic-tacs? If it is small vessel disease is it just a chronic, incurable condition that I need to accept? Can I exercise safely? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 35 yr old mom of 1.5 yr old quadruplets. I had high blood pressure during the last month of my pregnancy with severe preeclampsia all resulting in continued elevated blood pressure. Since the birth of the babies, I was on amlodipine with good pressure regulation but began to experience skipped heart beats about 1 year post partum. Doc switched me to metoprolol and a holter done with occasional pvcs and pacs. Echo was normal.
Avatar m tn Said it could be Atypical Angina that was causing the chest pain but no way to test accurately due to my age and said he he could not tell me it wasn't PAH. He said the test for PAH was quite invasive and would be better off to request another echo in 5 years. He also said that I don't look like a typical SSc patient, that my disease is well managed and that the methotrexate should keep me from getting PAH.
Avatar m tn I have no energy, if I exert myself in any way the chest pain/pressure starts with sharp pains and then they radiate to the left arm and up the left side of my neck. All of my test have come back normal. This is scarring me to death and as a coal miner I'm afraid I'm going to lose my job. I just don't know what to do they said the Ranexa is kinda a last option, I have a wife and three kids to take care of, I really need help to find out whats causing this.
Avatar m tn Angina Avatar universal Can I have PAH with low NT-Pro-BNP - Been taking medication for years Tamsynhh 5 hrs I have Systemic Sclerosis (10 odd years). Had echo in Sept due to palpitations/pain in left side of chest. Showed mild RAE and Moderate LAE and my RV was upper limits of normal. Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. My blood tests came back fine except for my RDW which is elevated. My NT-ProBNP was only at 6 pmol/L so very low.
Avatar m tn Back in April, my wife and I were holidaying in Thailand when she suddenly felt unwell, she felt nauseous, had pain in her left arm and across her chest and her blood pressure rose to 180/95 (normally it’s low at around 110/70). We immediately went to A&E at the local hospital where she underwent various tests (bloods, ECG etc.) but the doctor could find no problem.
1102792 tn?1285925260 As I started jogging was always running out of breadth and will resort to walking till I catch my my breadth, after a while I decided to run very fast for a longer distance, as I was speeding up, suddenly I noticed my heart beating wildly and a sensation of something moving through my chest and shoulders, probably in my blood stream cos it seemed to correspond to my heart beat, I continued running but stopped when couldn't bread well. I tried to catch my breadth but was unsuccessful.
Avatar m tn I was not able to exercise regularly over a course of a year because I would have pain in the middle of my chest and it was scary. Now I am 42,single, never smoked, don't drink alcohol, don't use illegal drugs, don't eat red meat or junk food for 3 years. I also like bland food. I guess it is in my genes. My parents both died of heart disease before age 55 that is why I am monitored regularly. My BP has gone up to 130/90, I weigh 145 lbs (10 lbs over). I am out of shape.
Avatar m tn Because I used to feel chest pain and all x-ray, ECG, thyroid, Scan brought out good results, it was the cholesterol that was high. I was placed on Statin and advice on lifestyle changes (food, excercises) and that was the end of the chest pain.
Avatar m tn E and had ECG,Chest Xray, blood test and blood pressure which were fine other than Blood pressure was high and ever since then my blood pressure tends to stay on the high side. It sits anywhere between 115/70 up to 160/95 on a normal day but today when I went to see my doctor It was 144/111 and he was not happy. I have being given atenlol prior but was put off after reading side effects.
Avatar f tn Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker indicated for hypertension. The S form of amlodipine is said to be responsible for dilation of blood vessels and lowering of blood pressure. The S- isomer of amlodipine or Asomex® is being studied in clinical trials and may lead to side effects such as fatigue or tiredness, dizziness or fainting, headache, flushing, or swelling of the legs or ankles. Side effects of amlodipine are generally mild and reversible.
1538119 tn?1292716209 I was still having chest pain and sudden sharp pain. She put me on a very strong anti inflammatory indomethacin 75mg. That helped for 3 days and then it totally trashed out my esphogus ! I ended up BACK at the ER for the third time !. Seems this drug gave me a very bad bout of Esophagitis. Dr told me to GO to the er immediately. It got to the point that I couldn't swallow. So I was treated for that and told not to take that med again.
Avatar m tn So I’m still taking my two medications but however, I still have the pain on my left chest and left shoulder and hand. One thing I have realized recently is that I’ve been running more and I’ve been feeling a little better. It seems that my pain reduced during my running and a few hours after I run. Could you tell me what is the cause of this pain? Can blood pressure cause this pain? Do I have to go for more Heart-related tests? What else do I need to do in order to get ride of the pain?
Avatar m tn Within 72 hours of coming off it the fog lifted and the pain in joints and muscles subsided dramatically. I now think it also contributed to my OCD; made my usually symptoms worse, possibly. Can't prove it of course. But I can tell you after getting off the Lisinopril my compulsive on-line shopping dropped off dramatically. Hah!! (Note: I don't recommend going cold turkey like I did, bp really jumped up, just find an alternative.
Avatar m tn old and since last summer I have been waking up in the morning with joint pain. My elbow joints, hip, and knee joints are all painful. Avatar m tn The senation is mostly kind of what you would assisicate with sex but sometimes it can be a light pain/ itch. Also along the left arm, chest and abdomen I have what feel like small muscle spasms – although I’m not sure if these arnt just a reaction to the feeling from the nipple and a reacton to try and suppress the senstion. Any advice or comment would be welcome.
Avatar f tn 0 My blood pressure is lower in the morning and evening generally but recently has been erratic. I have headaches, feel nauseous, tired and have chest discomfort. Is this normal. Please help.

1102792 tn?1285925260 for two wks i was feeling very weak and had probs falling asleep or staying asleep due to breathing probs and chest pain. now i feel much stronger and better and have started 30 mins fast walking and jogging. so i want to know if my ef has improved and my heart pumping better or i.m i risking further damage by exercising. dr tojd me lose wt. i am on atenolol lisinopril amlodipine and moduretic. 35 m smoke and drink occasionally.
Avatar n tn You shouldn't be afraid. The EKG is not a perfect test and may be a false positive in your situation. The echo will be more accurate. I am assuming that you don't have chest pain and that you have a normal exercise capacity. At this point, you should continue taking your meds and follow up with the echo as scheduled. Take a daily ASA.
1102792 tn?1285925260 Woke up next morning by 6am. No chest pain, mild chest tightness, bp is 147/95 pulse 59. So what went wrong, shud i avoid hard sex or was it d buscopan or a mild mi, also was it ok to try and remain calm.
Avatar n tn I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.
Avatar m tn I too have recently started taking amlodipine 10mg and as of a few days my knees starting feeling hot, and a discomfort within them have you found this to be a side effect?
Avatar f tn My Mum who is 52 has been having chest pains on and off for a while, very rare in between, like every few months. She went to the Dr's who did and ECG and it was normal. She had the chest pains again a few weeks ago and they lasted a good 15 mins then went. She wouldn't go to the hospital even though I was begging her as she said she felt fine after the pain had gone but she promised to go to see Dr next day. She did and they did an ecg and sent it through to be seen to there and then.
Avatar n tn and since March 2011 I have been experiencing skipped beats as well and have been experiencing a lot of chest discomfort and pain.. I have been to the cardiologist several times for this and everything has checked out all right.. I am planning on seeing my doctor sometime within the next couple of weeks to see if he can figure out what is going on... Overall I don't find that this really controls my BP as well as it should it still runs around 140/80 and sometimes higher..
