amitiza

329994 tn?1301663248 I am mostly concerned about the side effects of chest pain and shortness of breath. As a heart patient, I do not like those side effects. Any advice would be great. Thank you!
974371 tn?1424653129 Hi, the most reported common side effect of amitiza is diarrhea. It can also cause abdominal distension, nausea and abdominal pain. It can also cause fecal incontinence. Like your doctor suggested you can continue this medications for a few more days before you give up this medication. Regards.
Avatar f tn m curious as to why so many people are against the Mayo Clinic? I myself am a patient there currently undergoing diagnostics, though I received a clinical MS diagnosis upon first appointment in November, at this time my other cranial issues and viral issues are also being examined. My Neuro there was able to detect issues in one visit that other facilities could not in several other states- including Stanford Over the course off seven years.
Avatar n tn My daughter began amitiza and it has worked wonderfully, however, she is spotting in between periods. Is this common?
605458 tn?1539228808 My doctor just started me on Amitiza last week following a colonoscopy that was fine. I also have had 2 CT scans; one without contrast and the other with contIrast and nothing showed up there. I had and still have a pain in my right lower abdomen. This AM the nausea was so bad I called the GI group and was told to stop taking the Amitiza for a few weeks and that the most common side effect of the drug is extreme nausea and it should ALWAYS be taken on a full stomach.
Avatar n tn Hello All. I'm really new on the panel and I'm searching for help. In the last two weeks I have not been able to have a BM. My doctor gave me some samples of amitiza 24 mcg. I've been taken them 2 per day for the last 4 days - One at night and another in the A.M. With the 1st tablet I had a BM. I have not had another BM since. It doesn't seem that I'm having any normal digestive sounds or movements. I don't even have the urge to have a BM.
Avatar m tn Have you tried taking magnesium citrate every morning? Have you tried Amitiza? I have not tried Linzess yet, but Amitiza is pretty good for me. You could try taking walnut hull and wormwood preparation for parasites to see if that helps you.
Avatar m tn Also take Lactulose and Amitiza. However, in order to take the Amitiza must take a nausea pill before and after. Often times still have nausea with the Amitiza and not convinced it helps all that much. I've been at this for 8 yrs and have done everything but stand on my head. Without pills and powder - bowel movements are difficult and every 3-5 days. And only partial. EXTREMELY bloated. Have difficulty fitting into street clothes later in the day. Makes work life and social life difficult.
Avatar n tn I don't know your lab levels, but you are obviously hypo. I don't know why she lowered your Synthroid instead of keeping you on the higher Synthroid and gradually introducing Cytomel. My doc didn't lower my Synthroid. He started me on a low dose Cytomel, and if I need more, he will eventually raise my Cytomel. The key to getting better is to know your lab levels and become a proactive, informed patient.
1081992 tn?1389903637 from doing a websearch, it seems that the vast majority* of free MRI reviews are only for the spine. Why is that? Is it because spine MRIs are very quick and easy to read? If that is true, then why is that true? Or if instead this is somehow only about the economics of marketing for new patients, then why is that true for spine patients only? Any speculations? Also, are spine docs now using Artificial Intelligence to read spine MRIs?
Avatar f tn I am looking for a top notch cataract surgeon. So far I have relied on patient reviews, google and yelp reviews but none seem to match. If by chance someone knows of a surgeon, please reply to this request. Thank you so much - I have postponed surgery because of extreme fear - but if I had a good surgeon I would proceed.
Avatar n tn I did and its been a month and it still hasnt healed. Having trouble with constipation and I am on amitiza. Any advice is welcome. As well, my doctor told me to take a stool softner twice a day to. Thinking about starting to eat soup.
2102085 tn?1350866645 I went to a gastroenterologist the next day and she thought it was IBS and prescribed me Amitiza and Bentyl. I have been on the Amitiza and it makes me have frequent watery BMs...and the Bentyl does not do much. The pain is constant and I feel like I'm pregnant I'm so bloated (I'm not!) could this really just be IBS? Could the pain be reproductive (i.e. ovarian cysts) I'm going to school for nursing and it is really interfering with my education...
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Candy, I really don't know how common it is but I also have IBS that just keeps getting worse... I only have bowel movements once maybe twice a month... I know it's hard to believe but it's the truth.. Also, I used to never have bloating and pain in between those movements... But, in the last few months my stomach stays distended, I cramp until I double over, and nothing seems to help... My doctor said it's a combination of the MS and the medication...
Avatar f tn I had an endoscopy and found out I have a large duodenal ulcer with partial outlet obscrtuction. Can I take Amitiza with this ulcer?I was supposed to have a colonoscopy but I couldn't get completely clear.I was put on a drug to help heal the ulcer and a proton pump inhibitor.I just want to know if it is safe to amitiza.I am on opiods so I need it.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and he thought it may be constipation so he gave me Nexium and Amitiza. They made me feel pretty bad and didn't really seem to change anything that was bothering me. After a week he said to stop the meds. The gas has since subsided, but the abdominal pressure and thin stools still persist (for about 2 weeks now) And I also notice my stomach gurgling a lot throughout the day and while in bed at night.
Avatar f tn Mammo is more realistic. What I meant is that the lab tech who reviews the tissue slides knows immediately. Bear in mind that in the event of a malignancy they want to know before the patient leaves the table. A long wait generally means a good result.
1735424 tn?1357433558 I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?
Avatar n tn Hey ladies! I'm having a hard time controlling my frustrations. Lately I'm unable to let go of the little things that upset me. Mostly with businesses. I have the constant feeling that I should write bad reviews for businesses when they upset me. I'm not normally like this at all. Is anyone else experiencing the same emotions? If so how do you calm yourself down and just let it go?
Avatar f tn It turns out after reading her patient reviews not once did she receive even a decent review!! The reviews were exactly like my own experiences! Awful! I asked her again when I saw her if I was diabetic and "casually" said again "no" and walked off! I KNOW THERE IS A SUGAR PROBLEM INSIDE ME AND MY THIRST WON'T SUBSIDE! I ASKED HER WHY I AM ALWAYS THIRSTY TO WHAT TO ME IS THE OBVIOUS AND SHE SAID "OH, I DON'T KNOW!
Avatar f tn I am on milk of magnesia, amitiza, and dulcolax and my doctor wants me to try to get off the milk of magnesia. You can try using other medications for constipation to see if that works better. Amitiza is a new one out there but sometimes certain ones work better than others. Has your doctor ever mentioned abdominal migraines?
Avatar m tn As for the constipation, try taking one capful (the little cup thing that comes with the bottle) of milk of magnesia every day. Talk to your GP about Amitiza, you might be a good canidate for that, as well. Not every constipation problem needs fiber as most people (and some doctors believe)-I did that for years and my problem continued. I laid off the fiber as directed by my gastroenterologist, took the Amitiza & m of m each night and my troubles were over.
1691275 tn?1322327507 com/doc/73710001/Revising-the-Lyme-Landscape-Working-11-25-12 Any suggestions/reviews/criticism are welcome, but remember that I wrote this while I was half-insane from neurological Lyme disease. New revisions posted pretty regular. And thanks everyone, especially Jackie who steered me toward ILADS over the summer and helped me find an LLMD - he has worked wonders on me!
