my husband was able to quit them with no side effects after years of use (he doubled up whether it was ambien or lunesta) but do not take that as a sign that would happen for you since my husband was very ill and if he did have some withdrawal symptoms he may not have noticed because of the symptoms he was getting from chemotherapy.
If you were getting them off the street keep checking back...it is early yet so in a few hours more people will be here to talk to you.
Myt hubby is taking large amounts of Percocet and Ambien CR. He runs out of the percs in 4 days and is buying them off the street. He is taking large quantities of this. If he can not get Percs, he takes ANYTHING he can get his hands on. Same with the Ambien CR. He runs out of his prescription before he can get it refilled and is buying them off the street. He will not go for help and it is 3 years now and he is crunching about 5-10 percs and 2 ambien a day.
Ambien seems to be most MDs' drug of choice for tx insomnia. It's addictive, but not in the street drug sense. Just that if you use it enough, you'll become dependent and when you quit you'll have an uncomfortable week. Using a benzo' with a longer 1/2 life to detox seems to be a workable stategy.
A lot of specialists who Rx IFN would prefer to have your family doctor Rx these type of meds.
and when I run out, I result in buying them off the street. If nobody has what i get I will get any kind of pain killer to get me through. I get 100 pills a month prescribed to me, so I spend about 400 a month on pills from the street.

I totally sympathize with you. Your symptoms are hyper, but your TSH says you're hypo as they come. Your FT4 is not a value I recognize as an FT4 value. Can you supply normal range? TSH does vary considerably normally. So your being off meds for 5 days may not have been the WHOLE explanation for the rise. My endo says that the variation in TSH is a percentage.

s gotta be very slow and easy. I tapered off of Ambien and it took me 4 months. Ambien uses the same receptors as Xanax.
Congratulations on your quest to get your life back. Xanax is infamous for always demanding more and more to achieve the same effects. It's a bottomless pit. I know .25 is the lowest dose. You're quitting at a good point; while standing on the edge of the pit looking down...much easier than being at the bottom looking up!
I've been using Ambien CR, and it's been helping me get sleep and helping big time with the anxiety. I've never tried Soma...so not sure, but I wouldn't think it would interfere with the process of your body getting clean. I think it's important to try to get some sleep, too. I have tried clonidine .1mg twice per day, and it takes away RLS and will help with sleep a little, too. Some say it works really well...moderately for me.
At one time, Talwin NX was one of the most prescribed pain medications in the US. They actually added the NX as at one point, it was a huge street drug being ground and injected---- it was called the poor man's heroine. Once the NX was added, it was unable to be used in that way (just to get high) and the drug continued to be heavily prescribed for pain.
How do you get through an Ambien withdrawl? I was taking up to 7 a day> shaking,sweating,nausea and my mind feels drunk. R there any non-addictive meds to help the detox?

No I'm not addicted, I used to take it only once or twice a week. It wasn't an every day thing. But it gets sooooo hard for me to sleep some nights so I'm wondering if it's safe.
r u sure it is the ambien? it could be a mixture? all 3 drugs aggravate depression and out of the 3 ambien is categorized as the least addictive of the three drugs u r taking.....i would talk to my doctor and find another alternative for sleep....taking these every night could get u into trouble..have u tried the natural sleep aids like melatonin, valerian, etc?
