I have been taking Xatral tablets for about 15 months. A urologist gave me as I suffered from benign
inflammation in the prostate gland. He found out this after the palpitation test.
Unfortunately the doctor retired. So I went to another urologist. He did the palpitation test found out I am
suffering from benign inflammation. He firmly said there were no inflammation in the prostate gland.
I am 61 years. He said I take the tablets for no reason and suggested stopping it.
I finished 3 courses of antibiotics in last two months, levofloxasin, norfloxasin, and Cefixime. Then I showed to a urologist in the last week and he put me on 30 days course of Alfuzosin. Not sure if is the antibiotics or the Alfuzosin that has worked but I am feeling 90% better now but the frequent urination persists. Erection feels uncomfortable and still mild pain at the penis tip sometimes.
I have been taken vesicare and xatral for 40 days now.I went to see the urologist again and he said he cannot pinpoint what is the root cause yet and it should clear on its own in 1-2 months. He gave me urogesic, cipro for 30 days and lyrica for 10 days. My bladder is in good condition with NO IC as per the pictures,my prostate is in good shape and size (thru DRE),I have done PPMT last week,there was no bacteria in prostate also.
I recently had an achographie which showed a pblem in emptying. My doctor has given me Xatral XL, but i feel like there is some bacteria or something in the shaft of the penis, its a difficult problem, i think if Xatral fails ill ask for antibiotics. I dont know what to do b/c it seems like this problem is hard to detect. Do you think a cystoscopy would help?
I've been taking clomipramine for 5 months now. I've tried about 13 medications for depression/anxiety/panic disorder, and it's the only one that has helped. It has stopped my suicidal thoughts. I am actually happy now and can enjoy life. I have many irritating side effects though, such as urinary retention, bad breath, and I sweat a lot more than I used to. For the urinary retention I take Xatral which helps some of the time, but it's still, it's often difficult to pee.

Flomax is used for the treatment of BPH and if you are having side effects to this drug then you can use other alpha blockers like doxazosin, terazosin, alfuzosin or 5 alpha reductase inhibitors like finasteride and dutasteride.
Effects may take longer to appear than alpha blockers, but they persist for many years. But they are available under prescription and should always be taken under a medical guidance.

he placed me on a range of antibiotics in combnation with xatral. after months of this the symptoms abated. then 2 years later i had a smilar sexual contact, after years of only sex with my wife, and it started again, the same way, only i was in a different city and my urologist, after negative urine screens for chlamydia and gonnorhea tried a brief course of antibiotics (ofloxacin) and said i just need to live with it as it is not worth trying to treat it.
To ad a little beat of information i'm taking Bactrium and alfuzosin hcl er in this days. could they have cause a false positive? I was tested 3 month ago and at the time i was negative for Hsv-1 I haven't have any exposer with the exception with the one i described.
Medications called alpha one adrenergic antagonist are usually prescribed for the stent discomfort. They are terazosin, doxazosin, tamsulosin and alfuzosin. Sometimes anticholinergic medications like oxybutynin (ditropan), detrol or vesicare may help. Please consult your doctor, he will prescribe appropriate medications for you.

I am on medications again the improvement is markedly less than the previous course. Am on 5th day of Doxy and Cefuroxime Clav. Along with Alfuzosin and Amitriptyline. This time course is of 10 days duration. I got extremely weak with joint pain which has improved. My current symptoms are pelvic penile n lower back pain and weakness.I have shown to 3 Urologists , all saying epididymitis. And also saying it may not be related to STD.
Urologist told me it might be due to anxiety, and prescribed XATRAL SR 5MG .
m currently being treated by a Urologist P.A. with Alfuzosin and Uroblue? some medicine that turns my urine blue-ish. This is for an irritation in the urethra and sometimes at the tip. She prescribed these because the antibiotics I took didn't help. The irritation is improved tramendously, but now I still have the craling itchy butt crack. The discharge is hard to explain, it's hard to tell if it's just left ofer urine; though it seems a tiny but thicker.
I had acted on your suggestion and had consulted urologist.He had alfuzosin. It took almost three months. I also added Zolpidem to alprazolam (for Insomnia) Now i can sleep much better. Bathroom visits are almost normal.After many years I could normalize my B visits.Your suggestion helped me. My brother who is at Ohio and who is a psychiatrist advised me to add zolpiden for insomnia. With less bath room visits it has heped. thanks again.
50 y/o male. Last summer, started passing small (poppy seed sized) stones, 2-3mm.
Ultrasound tests revealed nothing. Was told to drink water. Stones became larger and numerous. CT scan that revealed numerous stones in my bladder. Urologist said stones were forming in bladder. Stones are uric-acid based. My prostate was probably enlarged. Stones continued to grow in size, passing one 1-2 wks. Was given Sodium Citrate. 2 months later, passed 5mm stone.
I forgot to mention that I'm taking Bactrium and alfuzosin hcl er could those medication influence the result ?
told me to try ibuprofen 3 times a day for 3 weeks, it did nothing. He put me on alpha blocker (alfuzosin) 2 weeks ago and it has done nothing.

I retested for all common STDs at 12 weeks and was negative for everything (HIV, HSV-1, HSV-2, gonorrhea, chlamydia, Syphilis, and trich).
Is this a yeast infection? Or is this some uncommon STD that my GP and Urologist can't identify? Should I go to an STD clinic?
Available drugs include doxazosin, terazosin, alfuzosin and tamsulosin. Older drugs, phenoxybenzamine and prazosin are not recommended for treatment of BPH.[5] Alpha-blockers relax smooth muscle in the prostate and the bladder neck, and decrease the degree of blockage of urine flow. Alpha-blockers may cause ejaculation back into the bladder (retrograde ejaculation).
The 5α-reductase inhibitors (finasteride and dutasteride) are another treatment option.
The urologist put me on daily dose of Minocycline Hydrochloride. He also gave me Alfuzosin Hydrochloride (alpha blocker) as a suppliment, but later advised me against it as I started feeling heavy headedness and tiredness.
In the meantime, I had intercourse with my wife. I guess for 2-3 times she observed itching in her genitals and also discharge of curd-like fluid (yeast??) which lasted for 3-4 days and then went off.
