Brand name Fosamax is manufactured in the United States by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc.
I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

As my openion according to CRVO that there is only cause remain is THROMBOSIS but other things like HYPERTENSION, DIABETIES, or VASCULITIS works as a Risk factors so it is written in different articles and boks as these factors as a cause of CRVO if it is right than can we say that the long bone fracture is the cause of CRAO in place of EMBOLI? or is there any difference in cause and risk factor or not?

To clarify, this is your pelvis that was fractured and not your hip? Glad the treatment you had went well and you returned to full health. Returning to full health means getting back to activities that you want to do. Have you been strengthening the area once you were able? Did you work with a physical therapist? I would check in with your doctor but suspect you can start slow with running again.
If you have a cheekbone fracture (malar bone fracture) then surgery to reposition the bone should be done as soon as possible (within a week or so of the injury) and before the bone heals. Once healing occurs, the ability to re-fracture and reposition it later becomes exceedingly difficult. While any surgery carries some risks, the risk for this procedure in the proper hands is quite small.

Thanks for writing in. The common risk factors for non union of humerus fracture are open fracture, highly comminuted fracture pattern, significant displacement of the fracture fragments, smoking, diabetes, NSAID’s, infection and hypothyroidism.
In your case, smoking could have aided in non union of the fracture, but there is a need to rule out other causes as well.
I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
30+ yrs of steroids has thinned my bones significantly, so I was prescribed a bisphosphonate (Alendronate) alongside calcium (Calcichew) and Vitamin D3. My hair is a lot thicker now. You might wish to get tested for Vit.D as I understand that some 50% of the population who do not live in sunny climates, are deficient. Not sure if it affects the hair though. Try googling "hair loss vitamin D" and see what comes up.

I have a non-union midshaft clavicle fracture. The fracture was the result of a Motorcycle accident nearly 6 months ago. (I am a 35 year old female) After the sling, the figure 8 brace, and an Ultrasound bone growth stim, still no union. I have an appointment on Feb 14 to review MRI results and talk about surgery. Are there options other than the Plate and screw procedure that my doc keeps telling me about?
It is true that internal fixation will stabilize the fracture--surgeons think surgery and that is all they think about--waiting for the person to heal over time is not in their mentality and yes it is true if that fracture worsens bad things will happen. He could sneeze and if the fracture is that unstable he could get severe cord compression.
