aldara

1067212 tn?1353964002 The next morning it got significantly smaller but it is still there and is tender when I touch it. On the aldara cream it states a very unlikely side effect is hard bumps under the skin. Is this simply a side effect or something else?
Avatar n tn I have had no problems with them and have had sex with my wife for years with no problems. Recently I read about a cream called Aldara for warts that said applying this cream 3 times a week could eliminate warts and that the sides effects were mild. I thought i would order it and try it, thinking it couldn't hurt if it wasn't a wart. I applied the cream as instructed every other day for about 2 weeks ( 6 or 7 applications).
Avatar f tn A week later i got cryotherapy to freeze some off and she gave me aldara cream to apply for the following week. that was last week. so i applied the cream to the small areas and for the first day it was fine but after the second day of applying i have been in so much pain, pain to pee, walk, sit, do anything. i have noticed also one area where the largest wart was (was only small) this area has gone totally white. I am writing to ask if this is normal.
Avatar n tn No, I meant Aldara might be the whole explanation. I'm not surprised if Aldara is making it worse.
Avatar f tn I went back to my gyno. She then told me it looked like Molluscsum Contagiosum and gave me Aldara cream to use. Well, I used it all over my genital area for 3 days. On the 3rd day - I developed 5 small ulcers. They didn't hurt. I went back to my gyno. This time (after the negative herpes test and no new partners) she told me it looked like herpes. She did a swab of an ulcer and it came back negative for herpes.
Avatar f tn Recently (5/28) diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum and besides from cryotherapy for treatment i also received Aldara cream 5%. (the derm did not get every lump/wart with the liquid nitrogen) Questions I have about this is; How effective is it to be used? Should I apply it with a finger or would a Q-Tip be better or should it be something else? How exactly does it work?
Avatar m tn I recently got diagnosed with HPV, I am 23 male. I started applying the cream every other day over the entire genital area. I applied it an the anus as well and now it is killing me! Only one spot at the part of my anus closest to the testis. It got all swollen and seems to have a sore on it, looks like a hemorrhoid to me, but I dint know why I would have one! As if HPV didnt make me feel crappy enough, lol. Has anyone had any similar experience with aldara on the butthole, or anywhere?
Avatar m tn What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
Avatar m tn hey im a 21 yr old male. i have been using aldara one two very small genital warts (applying as little as possible with a toothpick). anyways despite best efforts the cream has gotten on other parts of my skin near the warts and has almost bleached it white... I have decided to stop using it for this reason even though the warts are not completely gone (i hate aldara now).
Avatar m tn How likely is it, that it is the Aldara cream itself? I've tried to just rub the cream onto wart itself. Why would this area react, whereas not elsewhere.. or rather DIRECTLY on wart.?
Avatar m tn The doc froze them off then he prescribed Aldara cream. He said that I should put the cream right on the spots that he froze. He said that I did not need to wait for those spots to heal and that I could start using Aldara right away. Is this ok?? Also, I am not quite sure if I have other warts on the shaft of my penis. There are a few other very small bumps that I am not sure of. It is ok to rub the Aldara over these spots even if they turn out not to be warts?

Avatar m tn The doctor called it vulvar dysplasia, and he prescribed aldara cream 3 times a week because he said that since there are so many a laser would be very painful and that we should try to remove some with aldara first. I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin? Thank you!
Avatar m tn The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop? The cream does not bother me and the rawness is by no means unbearable or even that aggravating. I just genuinely don't know when enough is enough. 3. I have read that the aldara can cause permanent skin discoloration and i was wondering if there is any way i can mitigate the chances of that happening by applying vitamin E oil or neosporin to the affected area.

Avatar f tn Hello doc, I was diagnosed with genital warts and on Aldara cream for it. My wart went away quickly in about 2 weeks. Here’s my worry: I had mild skin irritation while I was on it, but a week after I had stopped the Aldara I developed a rash around my anus near where I had been using Aldara and I’m worried it’s herpes. It was a red rash. It itched, felt irritated, and the skin was shiny. I would compare it to mild sunburn. I never saw breaks in the skin: no blisters, ulcers, or scabs.
Avatar m tn So finally i got the balls to goto the doctor and get it checked out. Well what do you know its Molluscum. Doctor prescribes me Aldara. It's been 1 week so far and it had already spread to my pubic area and a little on my happy trail. I'm trying to be calm about this but reading these forums is pissing me off. Not to mention that my girlfriend wants to have sex when she comes down from school. Looks like thats out of the picture.
Avatar n tn My daughter was 1+ when she had a bruise on her chin and caught a wart virus from some lady who had in on her hand. The wart appeared after several months and since then it has been a miserable experience trying to get rid of it. It spread to her fingers (now ridden) by liquid nitrogen. However it also spread to 3 other spots in her chin area.
Avatar m tn Should I try using aldara? The genital wart seems to be inside of the scar now, maybe the wart is gaining resistance with all the times i have gotten rid of it so far? My doctor again told me I could come in for cauterization, but again I am very worried about the scarring. What would be my best option for the point I am at? Why can I not get rid of the root of these warts?
Avatar n tn Depending on the size and location of the wart, and other factors, a doctor will offer one of several ways to treat them. * Imiquimod (Aldara) a topical immune response cream, applied to the affected area * A 20% podophyllin anti-mitotic solution, applied to the affected area and later washed off * A 0.
Avatar f tn I waited for 3 weeks as advised by my doctor, and returned, and clusters more had developed all over the vulva. Since more had developed I was told to use aldara cream 3x a week for six weeks. I would return to my doctor in six weeks, and whatever was left over he would laser off. While using the cream did clear some of the warts, I'm in my fourth week and about 3 more have popped up and not all of them are gone.
Avatar n tn They have taken a sample of the sore for culture and blood and have said it would take a week. The sore is not on the wart itself but close to it where the cream did get applied. I would use the entire packet and spread the cream to surrounding areas and sometimes would take a late shower on the weekend and so it would stay longer. The doctor said that if it was Aldara side effects then it would have happened on the wart itself too.

Avatar n tn Surgery twice.$500 in aldara cream. I read about using dead candia injections, on warts,in readers digest. I've shown my doctors the article but they've never heard about it. Has any one had any first hand experince using this type of threatment. Can anyone tell me where I might go to recieve this type therapy.
Avatar f tn Hi, Usually small outgrowths of skin on the body are due to warts. Another possibility in this area would be skin tags. Warts are highly contagious and are considered the most serious types of warts. A small cut or abrasion on the skin is sufficient for invasion and infection by a human papilloma virus and other types of viruses, these come into the top layer of the skin, and cause the formation of a wart on the surface of the skin.
Avatar f tn This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
Avatar m tn My question is that if this is a hpv lesion and not a visible wart as such can it be treated with aldara? I'm concerned that it may damage the skin as it is very thin here.
1306047 tn?1333247191 Doctor gave me Aldara. Thought I'd pass my thoughts along. I've had warts burned off with nitrogen and cauterized as well. Aldara doesn't seem to be an alternative to me. First, you have to apply three nights a week for three months. Then, the skin on your shaft and balls and get irritated to the point of breaking open and bleeding. If bleeding sores is a side effect of Aldara, why not just get the warts zapped or burnt, have the sore, let it heal and be done with it.
Avatar n tn 1) I have HPV and have been using aldara successfully whenever a new wart pops up. However, this week I had the worst reaction yet to the cream ( I think?!): Itching, burning, painful sores (which scab over in less than 1 day). This has persisted on one side of my body for 5 days now. I am worried that I have herpes. My right lypmh node is swollen as well in my genital area. The redness and swelling has subsided somewhat on the 5th day. Is this too short to be a herpes outbreak?
