Aldara success

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara success

Avatar n tn The first medicine I tried was Aldara, when they first started showing up. All the Aldara served to do was eat apart my skin, scar my scrotum, and generally hurt really bad. I don't think even one wart disappeared in that time. Since then I've tried many "herbal" remedies and have had success with none of them. The only thing that seems to work is ripping the warts off myself, which was painful at first but works fairly well.
Avatar m tn Hello I am hoping that one of you have experience or knowledge with the cream Aldara or Imiquimod. I have been using it for about 4 weeks now on anal warts and it has made them pretty much go away. But the itching and burning is EXTREME to say the least and is a minute to minute struggle every day and is ruining my life. I am wondering how long to expect this to continue after I discontinue using the cream or any suggestions for relief until then.
Avatar m tn I used Aldara successfully and never got any redness, pain ,etc. I had a wart under a fingernail once and the Dr prescribed Aldara with a bandage over the finger to keep the medicine on and in two weeks it was gone. Some HPV (genital warts do not respond to Aldara or freezing and must be zapped with a CO2 laser or cut out or burned out with the Hyfrecator (sp?) All people with visible genital warts should have them removed ASAP as they can cause cancer in females AND males.
Avatar m tn I have been on Aldara for just about 5 weeks and haven't noticed any change really. I mean the area gets red, but that seems to be it. Has anyone used Aldara with success personally?
535760 tn?1213894766 I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).
Avatar f tn What is the downside to using Aldara for SCC? I have had success with several on my legs, having decided to not have any more terribly painful surgeries for SCC on the legs because just as soon as I would think I was rid of it, right in the same spot it would still be growing, causing another painful surgery adjacent to already badly sewn up and patched up areas. This discussion is related to Aldara and squamous cell carcinoma.
Avatar m tn i have tried extreme wart remover by forces of nature, and it did NOTHING but make me smell like am tring not to use aldara because i have heard it may have immune side effects, so i was saving it as a last resort....Im trying wart and mole vanish.......well see how this one goes....
Avatar f tn Hello- I've been trying just about every wart treatment available for the past 4 years- from Aldara to Duofort, Canthrone- you name it, I've tried it. I've recently heard about a product called "Wart Mole Vanish", and was wondering if anyone else has had any success with this? Thanks.
Avatar f tn However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
Avatar n tn We've chased all sorts of treatments with nothing lasting very long. Do you know whether Aldara could offer some hope? I understand that it was originally for genital warts but some skin cancer patients have had some success. Any thought and comments about this or any other treatment would be most appreciated. Thank you!!!!
902240 tn?1242150458 I'm no expert, but what helped for myself when I discovered it was freezing it and same time start using Aldara. Aldara alone did not help for my fiance (to whom I unknowingly passed it..i know..terrible thing I did), but I read it got a high success rate. Also I read a lot and found if you build up your immune system, your body can fight it off. Good luck...I know it suck.
Avatar m tn Don't bother using Aldara if they recommend it - it has low success rates for mcv in adults. Trust me, I have had this for like 10 months and tried Aldara for nearly 6 months of it with only a few going away (which was probably coincidence). I just had them scrapped off the other day and it feels great not to worry about this anymore. Hit me up if you have any more questions - I have extensively researched mcv.
Avatar f tn Or a cream I have read called Aldara, can that help fade scars. I know VIt E scar creams don't have much success at fading scars.
Avatar n tn Combined with that I feel the occurance of these warts directly coincided with a time of heavy stress in my life. The first course of treatment was Aldara, which did not work. Although, I didn't change my lifestyle at the time. Since, then I have grown up and led a much healthier lifestyle. I have undergone cryotherapy a few times with no success. I have tried alternative methods: tea tree oil, acv, etc., also with little success. I am very frustrated and depressed.
Avatar m tn So, my question is for those males out there that might have had bowenoid papulosis/HPV type 16, did anyone see success from using Aldara? I would really like to give it the full 12 weeks of treatment before considering other options (Condolyx, Trichlororacetic acid, Cryo, etc). I would truly appreciate any feedback.
Avatar m tn At first my doctor applied podofilox and alternated that with liquid nitrogen. Later I started using Aldara, and most of my warts disappeared. However, I've never reached full clearance. I'm thinking about taking Accutane (Isotretinoin) for my acne and I read that this drug has also been known to treat genital warts. Is there any truth to this or is it just a rumor? Has anyone here had success with this treatment?
1094370 tn?1317138425 I'm worried about that because the cancer is more towards the tip of my nose... Anyhow, I'm looking to see if anyone has had success curing their skin cancer on their face using this cream..? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I tried for 4 years before any results. I tried Aldara treatments over and over again. I tried cutting them off with knife. I tried Veregen and even Aldara & Veregen at the same time. Even burning them off first with over the counter wart remover. The warts would go away but come back. I then changed my diet and started exercising daily. I ate super healthy and took Aloe Vera & Bee Propolis and Tagamet just once daily.
Avatar m tn Ive read online that the vaccine may help prevent future occurences of HPV if already infected..... has anyone had success with this? Are their any men who had a warts outbreak, had the vaccine, and have gotten fewer if not no outbreaks afterwards? I read a post by a woman in another forum stating she did nothing but got the vaccine after she was infected, and the warts slowly began to stop appearing....I dont see why the vaccine cant help you build antibodies, even after initial infection......
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed about three months ago with warts. My gyno prescribed Aldara with no success then Condolox which only seemed to burn off half my skin. Do you have a suggestion for another treatment for someone that has already used two of the most used options? I'm losing hope I'll ever get rid of these and I want to be informed with info when I go back to my gyno for a different treatment. Is cryo the next best step, or should I enwuire about laser?
Avatar m tn They may recommend aldara but don't do it. It doesn't have a good success rate. There's no telling where you got it from. I am married with kids and got it and my wife never did. Who knows! By the way the terminolgy for scrapping off is curettage I believe.
Avatar f tn The virus us tricky and the immune system usually not always recognizes the virus , so you have to help it realize its there. The cream Aldara usually works by telling your immune system where the virus is. Many people say they don't have success with it but they don't do the entire 16 weeks or be patient with it to work. Although it doesn't work for some and side effects can be bothersome. In the end if it works i think its a really good medication since it helps in the long run.
Avatar n tn It went from 4 or 5, to by my new doctor's count, more than 20. So we tried cryotherapy and a Rx of Aldara. Cryo seemed to work okay-ish on the two or three warts near my penis, destroying most of each wart (leaving a bit behind that was was further frozen the other day). The cryo and two weeks of Aldara saw pretty much zero progress on any of the perianal warts.
Avatar m tn I've been with this now for at least 10 months, it seems, and have gone through a few rounds of treatment, and am currently using Aldara on a bunch of visible warts. My question is, at some point, will these warts just go away on their own? Is the Aldara or some other method of treatment the only way to eradicate them? I wonder if I shouldn't just count 'em up, and call the doctor for a quote (no insurance, unfortuately).
Avatar n tn about two days ago i noticed that several warts had started to return in the same spots where he had froze them the first time.. almost a month ago. He prescribed me Aldara, and i just walked back in the door from his office where he said, "wait, they came back? wow i thought for sure that would be it, im so sorry they came back, lets keep our fingers crossed." and I guess I just want to know if anyone else has been in this boat.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had success with this method? I have read that once no lesions are present, the virus is gone...but this doesn't seem to be the case. Whenever I think I have them all removed and none show up for a while, I think I'm cured, but then another one pops up in my pubic region. I guess what I'm trying to ask it possible for the virus to not be around for very long? I'm afraid of having this for up to a year or longer. Has anyone gotten rid of molluscum within just 2-4 months?
Avatar n tn Well, resiquimod is in this version: "Resiquimod is an immune modulator whose sister drug, imiquimod or Aldara, has shown good success in treating genital warts. One study showed some limited benefit while using resiquimod for treating genital herpes.
Avatar m tn First of all, the HPV low risk strains those causes genital internal/ external warts tend to shed over a few years and are benign (non-cancerious)... The time they shed over actually depends on the immune system status of your body, if it is good, it is likely that your body will build natural immunity to get rid of the warts... Experts and most of the researchers believe that your body usually gets rid of all the hpv infections within 6 months to 2 years...
