Aldara how to apply

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara how to apply

Avatar f tn (the derm did not get every lump/wart with the liquid nitrogen) Questions I have about this is; How effective is it to be used? Should I apply it with a finger or would a Q-Tip be better or should it be something else? How exactly does it work? i think i heard it boosts the immune system in the area applied Should I apply Aldara to places where cryotherapy has been done or just new/missed lumps/warts?
Avatar m tn How did you apply it? Did you just put it on the spots or did you put it all over? Aldara can cause reactions like this, and therefore should only be used when you are certain its warts. You might need to get this checked by a doctor to rule out infection. If you hadn't applied aldara, I'd say get checked for herpes, but I doubt its herpes.
Avatar m tn hey im a 20 yr old male. i used aldara for genital warts and it has only made my life worse. i used it for about a month and a half and been off it for about 2 weeks. anyways it did not diminish my warts AND MOST IMPORTANTLY my penis is STILL really red and with a burning sensation and sensitivity down the shaft and base (which is not even where i applied the drug!). I have tried vitamin E oil but have now stopped cuz idk if it helped or made it worse......
Avatar m tn Not a single mark anywhere I've had removals. Granted, it's not the same as your situation, but does go to show how resilient your junk is.
Avatar n tn How to apply Aldara creme and do you use yor hand for application since it does not come with cotton swaps or gloves?
Avatar n tn Does any one know if this stuff really works,or is there any pre-cautions or side affects that I should be aware of?How long does it take to see results?I was told to apply this cream three times a week.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Aldara is used for several skin conditions. Your doctor will tell you where to apply Aldara cream, and how often and for how long to apply it for your condition. Aldara should be applied just before bedtime and left on the skin for 6-10 hours. If your skin condition reappears you need to talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn 1. My dermatologist told me to apply the aldara liberally to make sure that even the tiniest warts in the area are treated. I have read elsewhere to only apply to the warts, but i have also read that aldara seems to respect healthy skin and only attacks unhealthy skin. Which is true and should i continue applying the aldara liberally to the entire areas. 2. The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop?
Avatar m tn He said that I did not need to wait for those spots to heal and that I could start using Aldara right away. Is this ok?? Also, I am not quite sure if I have other warts on the shaft of my penis. There are a few other very small bumps that I am not sure of. It is ok to rub the Aldara over these spots even if they turn out not to be warts? I think my doc said that the cream won't really harm the normal skin, but it will seek out the warts if it is in contact with them.

Avatar m tn Not to mention that my girlfriend wants to have sex when she comes down from school. Looks like thats out of the picture. Well getting to the point, how long is this gonna take to get rid of them if i keep using aldara?
Avatar n tn You're right about it not being as big of a deal as people could make it, however it's dishonest to mislead people about what they're in for with Aldara. IT HURTS. Expect it to. Aldara attacks the skin cells, that's part of how it works. Even healthy, surrounding tissue, so be CAREFUL when applying. If the pain gets too bad, it is safe to apply topical burn cream with lidocaine, also recommended is "neosporin + pain relief" max. strength which you can get over the counter.
Avatar n tn A few months later the warts came back and I revisited the clinic and they were frozen once again, but this time I was given 'Aldara' cream to apply three times a week on the warts. I have visited the GUM clinic around four or five times since and been given the freezing treatment followed by Aldara cream and although every time I had the full STI testing this was found to be the only virus I had (or had symptoms for).
Avatar n tn He said he'd never seen such a severe reaction to Aldara.. He said for me to stop using Aldara which I already did. He sent me home with Lacoid Lipocream (hydrocortisone butyrate 0.1%) cream and told me to apply it to the "bump" 2x a day. He said to me that the bump could be a start of a cyst. He also cyrotherapyed off the two warts on both side of the "bump" this in of itself seem to irritate the "bump" and make it swell more. Well Dr.
1306047 tn?1333247191 I've had warts burned off with nitrogen and cauterized as well. Aldara doesn't seem to be an alternative to me. First, you have to apply three nights a week for three months. Then, the skin on your shaft and balls and get irritated to the point of breaking open and bleeding. If bleeding sores is a side effect of Aldara, why not just get the warts zapped or burnt, have the sore, let it heal and be done with it. That's my perspective.
Avatar m tn my derm doc suggested some hydrocortisone for the previous burning red blotch which i started yesterday (not sure if its helping yet). I am just confused how this irritation has lasted so long and how another spot has seemed to flare up after over 3 weeks off the drug. can aldara cause permanent penile psoriasis to begin??? i cant have sex or masturbate or anything in over a month... i cant live with this and im losing hope. this is was worse than any genital wart.
Avatar m tn It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect and what I should do to make this go away and if I should keep using aldara on that area while there is a lump. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I want to treat it with Aldara cream. I have a doctor that is willing to try but we need to know how long and how often to apply the cream. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn He prescribed Aldara cream 5 % and asked me to apply. I applied a full sachet at a time daily in the nights for about 20 days. I think that some of the excess aldara cream also got on to me scrotum testicle skin which turned the area red. After a few days, there was a watery discharge which further developed into small ulcers. I tried all types of creams and neem oil on it which i think worsened the situation. I showed them to my doc and he told that it is herpes so get tested for it.
Avatar f tn for pain relief for the effects of the Aldara, but he said he doesn't want me to apply anything else. Does anyone have any suggestions for pain relief or any idea how long these reactions will last since I stopped the medication 3 nights ago?? Thank you in advance for your help.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with HPV in early October of 2017. The GYN prescribed me to apply Aldabra onto the warts for treatment. In all honesty, I didn’t apply the cream correctly and just applied I️t all over my vulva area. This area began to itch and burn so I had stopped using the cream which didn’t present much of an issue because my warts had cleared up pretty quickly.
Avatar m tn So is it necessary to apply something or it heals in some time?
Avatar f tn She prescribed me Aldara cream to be applied to the site 3x/weekly. She told me to wash with mild soap and water first, dry off then apply the cream. Well, I applied the cream 3 days in a row before reading in the pamphlet that it should be done on a M-W-F or T-TH-Sa type schedule. I have not used it today since last night I noticed on both of my outer labias there appears to be a red rash, bumpy and sore to the touch, a little swollen and VERY MILDLY itchy.
Avatar f tn Will he and I give it back and forth? How long should we wait to have sex after my warts are gone to be sure that we don't? Should he get treated too? I scared and completely mortified to discuss this with my husband and my doctor.
Avatar f tn She told me I should return to my gynecologist immediately to get the hpv lesions removed (I'm using aldara cream for them currently), and to talk to him about the urinary tract infection. I'm really not sure why yet ANOTHER antibiotic hasn't worked on me or why the gynecologist needs to evaluate the uti? I haven't had a CT scan done, though I have had a couple cystoscopy's. Would returning to my GP and asking for a referral to a urologist be advisable at this point?
Avatar n tn no reaction from the bumps, just tenderness from surrounding skin. Every so often Ill apply ACV overnight to get them to go away for awhile but they always return. 5 months ago I had an allergic reaction causing redness in my groin area, stomach, legs, ect. I couldnt get into my PCP right away so I saw his partner, whom i showed the other bumps to and he dismissed them as being too small to tell and "no one would do a biopsy on a scrotum" I saw my PCP a week later and also showed him.
Cat In the office, cryotherapy can be performed, BCA can be applied to cauterize the warts, OR Aldara is a medication that you can apply yourself which will quite often get rid of the warts. Aldara is a prescription medication so you will need to see a doctor. You really should see a doctor any way to have the area checked for any sign of dysplasia due to the hpv virus. A general internist or general surgeon or proctologist would all be good choices. Good luck!
Avatar f tn hi, is there somebody who knows about Aldara , I have got a temerature after using it. might be from it?
Avatar n tn Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.
