Common Questions and Answers about Aldara dosage

aldara

Avatar f tn Just this afternoon, on a pre-cancerous basal or less legion on the nose (sorry i don't know the terms) that will be sent for biopsy my husband was prescribed Aldaral, 3x a week (mon-wed-fri) for 4 (four) weeks I'm not asking for a diagnosis just curious to know if this seems like a mild/moderate/ or heavy-duty dosage...i am concerned about the side affects i've been reading on message boards i just 'googled' ..but realize everyone's system handles drugs differently ...
Avatar m tn So here is my story. I was prescribed Aldara and told to take it 5 times a week for up to 3 months. This was October 23rd. I did so Monday-Friday for 4 weeks and felt like they were getting smaller, but had to take a week off due to some skin irritation. (left on too long). I then resumed. I tried to avoid the internet before because I of all the conflicting information, and now see the one thing thats always the same is that it's prescribed almost exclusively 3 times a week for 16 weeks.
Avatar m tn And finally, if these are still warts (I know, sadly, they probably are), should I try aldara again, with a decreased dosage? I’ve read some patients treat it by taking Aldara every other day. Please advise. Thanks.
Avatar f tn 24 I had been taking acyclovir every other day (one day yes the next no) and only once so daily only took 200mg because I had no symptoms and was tired of taking meds. To add to all this I had been applying aldara which worked great because I've been wart free for about 1 month and haven't had recurrence. My question is should I retest for hsv (btw hsv 1 was negative) and did the low dosage of acyclovir affect my results as false negative I'm really confused that's for reading!!!!
Avatar n tn I'm shocked at how quickly results seem to be occurring. I'm continuing with the Aldara at an increased dosage (every day as opposed to 3 times per week) under doctor's orders, and will be examined again in another week for possibly another injection of Candida antigen. If anybody out there is having trouble with HPV, seriously ask your doctor about the Candida antigen.
Avatar f tn 24 all this time I have not had symptoms of hsv 2 and had been taking acyclovir every other day so one day yes the other no and would only take it once so the daily dosage was 200mg up until oct 30 when I got my last results. Btw I had been applying aldara to the warts and I have been wart free for 1 month and no recurrence. My question is should I retest for hsv and how reliable are the results if I had been taking acyclovir on and off?
Avatar m tn Aldara will only clear up small MC bumps, not large MC bumps, which will have to be treated with freezing and/or other removal methods. Although I do intend to keep freezing them, I reached an agreement with the dermatologist that I would use Aldara in between appointments as discussed. He gave me a prescription and I now have Aldara. When i was talking to him about what you had said in regards to MC in general, He said the following.

Avatar f tn Prior I was experiencing outbreaks it started in August 2008 I thought that they were genital warts because I was diagnosed with that in 1999 and I was treated with aldara. However warts did seem to recur years later but they were minor outbreaks not every month. However the whole time I was using aldara, condylox, podofilox, TCA treatments but the outbreaks kept coming each month and it was stressing me out because I never experienced outbreaks like this before even when I had the warts.
Avatar n tn 50+ male being treated with Aldara for genital warts (HPV) Monogamous for 18 years of marriage; the same can be said of my wife. Promiscuous before marriage but was never aware of any signs of genital HPV. Wife has shown no signs. Life is currently very stressful: have not worked for 18 months; wife is unemployed; two children; working long hours as I start a business. Is my experience evidence of a reoccurrence? Can genital HPV resurface after 18+ years?
Avatar m tn His comment is under immunotherapy peg or zadaxin when hbsag is very low/und and you need to develop hbsab, not a general rule when you stop peg and you cleared hbsag to develop stable hbsab and no relapse you need additional immune therapy with no antivirals....
Avatar n tn I don't feel real confident that a third trip to the Podiatrist will produce satisfactory results. The Podiatrist did mention that high dosage levels of Tagament have been associated with boosted immune levels that seem to fight the wart virus (may the power be with you Luke Skywarter!). I read your comments in an earlier response on this approach and tend to agree with your comments. Besides, Tagament at normal dosages seems to cause me to be irritable and depressed.

Avatar m tn I had a lot better luck with the Aldara when I first burned the warts off with salicylic acid. The Aldara wasn't helping as well before using the acid, especially in certain areas. Yes, it's a bit more pain but it helped me. You could also add Low Dose Naltrexone to your medication. It helps boost the immune system. In your case, I really don't think it would be enough of a benefit on it's own. I tried it with a lot of herbal immune boosters alone and I didn't get any results.
Avatar n tn I went to the dermatologist twice with no remedies to cure my flat warts. All he did was prescribed Retrieve and aldara cream which didn't work. I did many research online and didn't really find anything that worked. Tried Thuja cream but that's hopeless. In Sydney, there's no Thuja tablets because it's not available in retail stores. I don't think this is safe if it's not recommended to be sold in stores. Anyways, I managed to go to my last resort, which was drink chinese herbal medicine.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the info frank, did you also use aldara on your genital warts? I have it now, and doctor told me to apply it twice a week for 16 weeks, i hope these genital warts would be gone soon, I have a question, if these warts are gone, is still there any chances to infect your new partner? I am new to all these, I hate that I trusted the wrong one before. I felt like dying inside having these sufferings.
