Aldara didn't work

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara didn't work

aldara

Avatar m tn Me being scared I agreed on her opinion. She prescribed me Aldara. At first I was determined to make it work but honestly it was a nightmare! I used it for over a month and it never got better but worse! Between the muscle aches and always being tired I didn't feel myself. Always sad and disconnected. That was just the tip. This medication leaves you with open wounds and blisters. I just couldn't understand how something that's supposed to help causes so much hurt. I felt so dirty.
Avatar f tn It's hard for me to take time off of work so I went to the Urgent Care instead. When I got there the doctors did routine tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and it turns out that I had Chlamydia. While the doctor was taking the swabs from the inside of my vagina, I mentioned the bumps and asked him to look at them. He said they were nothing and I didn't need to worry about them. He was not a gynecologist, just a general practitioner.
Avatar n tn Today I looked in the mirror and can see that five of them are growing back already. Oh, and there are two he missed entirely. I know Aldara might work for AK or warts. I know what the side effects are. I even know what the rumored horrible deathly side effects are. What do they have against prescribing it? Do they just want to charge me for the treatment over and over and over again?
Avatar m tn Hello I am hoping that one of you have experience or knowledge with the cream Aldara or Imiquimod. I have been using it for about 4 weeks now on anal warts and it has made them pretty much go away. But the itching and burning is EXTREME to say the least and is a minute to minute struggle every day and is ruining my life. I am wondering how long to expect this to continue after I discontinue using the cream or any suggestions for relief until then.
Avatar m tn I have only used it for three applications and I have seen zero effects - as if I had never started using it. I have read that Aldara doesn't work for everyone, especially males... but I would like to know if anybody has had any success stories without unpleasent side effects? I'm sure I could just apply it for the next 3 months, but I'd like to have a little bit of hope because right now I'd be happy with pain, redness, and itchiness, so long as the warts were being destroyed.
Avatar n tn It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off. It was slightly weepy, pink, shiny and had white pus like formation/skin on it.

Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed Aldara for my GW, which started showing up about a month and a half ago. I am terrified the Aldara will not work. Has anyone tried using ACV in conjunction with Aldara? Futhermore, has anyone used a home freezing kit on female genital warts?
Avatar m tn Normaly it is applied 3 times per week, for either 12 or 16 weeks.doesnt work for all people. I tried it and it did nothing, didn't even get the common skin irratition. The thing with HPV is you may have to try different treatments to find out what works for your particular case. I tried Cryo,Aldara and Surgery, all did nothing. For me, TCA treatments worked great. As far as getting an answer from anyone including Doctors, they are all over the place with answers.
1094370 tn?1317138425 I am currently under a derm's care for about two months after suddenly, two red dots appeared on my nose and didn't clear. He said they were suspicious and froze them. When back three weeks later, still there froze them again. Also, prescribed me a cream and said that if they were, in-fact, cancerous that they would react to the cream. I don't have the name of the cream with me at the moment of writing this, but it is a cream that stimulates your immune system to fight the cancer.
Avatar f tn 000iu of d3 daily and then check vitd25oh level after 4 weeks of supplementation, the target value is 60-100ng/ml if it doesn t work add to vitamin d aldara cream on the site of injection unfortunately the hbv vaccine is made very bad, it has only one of the 3 hbsag antigens which are very poor immunogenic so there is a high rate of failure to this vaccine new vaccines are made with the 3 hbsag antigens, like scivac or with hbcag which is very immunogenic like the cuban vaccine.
Avatar n tn They are almost certainly cysts, common in that location, and not warts. That's why the Aldara didn't work. My advice is to show a doctor when you get the chance, so you can know for sure that they're nothing. It's probably time to stop the Aldara too. Check it out. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately none of that stuff is proven to work. The recommended treatment if you'd like to try something topical is Aldara or Retin-A, with Aldara being used more often. It's true you'd have to get a prescription, but at least you'd be using something proven by the FDA to work and not wasting your money.
Avatar f tn i got aldara cream and a vitamin c injection and after the first application of aldara everything was gone!!! i continued to use aldara for almost a month just to make sure it would just pop right back up. my boyfriend didn't not recieve the vitamin c injection and used aldara for almost three months and just when they were gone, he stopped.
598912 tn?1219552112 I have hpv,and i had a reoccurence of gw so m doc 0rescribed aldara. ******* hell hole in a packet. after only s couple days of using it, yesterday my vagina lips swoll up along with the middle portion too. i began to walk funny because it would hurt to bump them together. i was at work still and needed to home asap.
Avatar f tn I had got hpv couple years ago, and tried burning warts off with acid from dr. but it didn't work, they kept coming back. Then i went to a womans health clinic and got aldara. I put it on warts on my vagina, but then i experienced burn looking marks all over vagina, and it was black and blue, and on top of that i got Urinary track infection (UTI) it was my worst nightmare! So I took antibiotics for uti, then at the same time the warts diminished, and i healed from all that went wrong.
Avatar f tn Can he get it through the mouth? Also, can genital warts go away? I've been treated but they didn't go away...
Avatar f tn Aldara helps the immune system recognize the infection so that it may fight it, also it may take up to 16 weeks of use for the medication to work. Usually Aldara works better in women than men, not sure why. Getting infected via towel or secondary items is not possible. (says Dr. Handsfield) You should consider getting your fiancé the Gardasil vaccine if she has not, not sure how effective it will be but definitely something to consider.
Avatar n tn Did you check out planned parenthood to see how much they would charge to remove them? Aldara is $$$ and takes too long to work if you ask me.
Avatar n tn I do not use Aldara to treat the outbreaks as I suffer bad reactions from it. Instead, my doctor applies podophyllin (generally multiple applications) or burns the warts with a laser. QUESTION: Since most of the outbreaks occur on the shaft, my dermatologist suggested that I might want to consider circumscision to remove the infected skin and thus limit the outbreaks. My urologist didn't think it was a good idea.
Avatar m tn He looked and determined that I had flat warts. He froze a few off in the middle and then I used aldara for 4 months w/ no sexual contact. I have since not had any more sexual contact. In February I went back to the same derm and he looked and said that everything looked good. It did not seem like he looked for very long so I made him look again and stretched the skin again. I still have some tiny bumps on the glans near the left side that go up towards the urethra.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with HPV because I had warts on my rectum (i'm a male). I was prescribed ALDARA cream for it. I left the cream on for too long the first week and it felt reallly irritated. I learned later your supposed to wash it off in the morning. After the first week I developed another problem and I wonder if it has something to do with ALDARA. I feel like I have to pee ALL the time. after I go to the bathroom I feel like I have to run back in!
Avatar m tn 1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts? 3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids? 4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option? Hope to have suitable answers from you. Thanks in return.
Avatar n tn Yea, in the research I found out that it was contagious... I did have my doctor try freezing them while I was in for the appointment and it didn't work. I will look at the sight and see what I can find out. Thank you.
2206935 tn?1373642205 No one treatment is better than another. People react differently to each type of method used. Your doctor may try to use liquid nitrogen and freeze your warts. I do not recommend surgery. Your warts will resolve eventually on their own anyway, be patient.
Avatar m tn who has 3 months to wait for aldara to work, if it's going to work at all? how long have you been with your current partner? also if you are planning to start a family soon, have you and your partner had herpes igg blood testing too to know who has what?
Avatar m tn I have had HPV for 7 years now. I have tried Aldara which didn't work at all but I do find that Condylox works well and after 3 days the warts are gone and the skin is healing. I have also been to the dermatologist for cryotherapy which works great and I find my skin recovers quicker when frozen than when I use the Condylox.
Avatar m tn I am sad and depressed because my ob made me feel like a **** and didn't really say anything except that I shouldn't have slept around and that I shouldn't have sex ever again. She subscribed aldara .5% cream and in have been using this med for a week now. I have severe itching and more warts have showed up on my labia and around the lips of my vagina. I don't know how long it takes for this cream to work. I just want the warts gone.
Avatar f tn I had/have them in and around my ***, and everwhere up top. Aldara didnt work for me bacuase I waited to long to treat. I will be trying aldara again as soon as i heal up alittle. Its going to be an uphill battle with me as well. I know you probably hear this a bunch but get healthier, even if you're healthy. boost that immune system! stop smoking, drinking, smoking weed!
Avatar n tn Hello, i'm a 24 year old female recently diagnosed with genital warts and i've had them burnt off twice within the month. The doctor recently prescribed/recommended I begin using ALDARA and i was wondering whether or not (in your opinion) the benefits outweight the risks of using the cream.
