the general surgeon looked at it about 3-4 weeks ago and said i will need surgery so he set the date and everything but i hope i wont need it if aldara continues to work. the doc was going to remove them by cauterization.
Me being scared I agreed on her opinion. She prescribed me Aldara. At first I was determined to make it work but honestly it was a nightmare! I used it for over a month and it never got better but worse! Between the muscle aches and always being tired I didn't feel myself. Always sad and disconnected. That was just the tip. This medication leaves you with open wounds and blisters. I just couldn't understand how something that's supposed to help causes so much hurt. I felt so dirty.
I had got hpv couple years ago, and tried burning warts off with acid from dr. but it didn't work, they kept coming back. Then i went to a womans health clinic and got aldara. I put it on warts on my vagina, but then i experienced burn looking marks all over vagina, and it was black and blue, and on top of that i got Urinary track infection (UTI) it was my worst nightmare! So I took antibiotics for uti, then at the same time the warts diminished, and i healed from all that went wrong.
I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.

I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off.
If I have your attention I'm assuming you have used Aldara or are planning on using it. I was finally prescribed Aldara after a few nitro treatments (some say it doesnt hurt, but I say it hurts horriblely).
I have only used it for three applications and I have seen zero effects - as if I had never started using it. I have read that Aldara doesn't work for everyone, especially males... but I would like to know if anybody has had any success stories without unpleasent side effects?
my mother 75 years used Aldara on a carcinome, after 2 weeks she feels very side effect including convulsions.she died.
What i can tell is that before using Aldara she feels very well.
Maybee Aldara works for some people, but for the other it could be really dangerous .
I applied aldara (imiquimod) to the shaft of the penis in an attempt to get rid of what I presumed were penile warts. About a week after use, I developed well localised red and swollen skin on the head of the penis which then ulcertated and has been slow to heal. I have not been herpes positive before and dont think I have had recent contact with any herpes positive partners.
I was prescribed Aldara by my gynecologist for a recurrent bout of genital warts in the vulva area that I've also received TCA treatment for. I started applying the Aldara last week and must have applied too liberally and/or left on too long. After only 2 treatments had severe flu-like symptoms, swelling, burning, painful urination, and worsening pain. Had to call gynecologist over weekend and she recommended I come in today if pain had gotten worse.
I'm using aldara right now too, I am a female but my skin has started burning and bleeding too, I talked to my doctor and he said it's normal.
1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts?
3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids?
4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option?

Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.
Now my gyn is telling me that, in order to get rid of any other traces of hpv, we should apply Aldara cream on the cervix. I am having serious doubts about this procedure and I would be most grateful if you gave me a specialized advice: is it ok to use it? Can it actually heal hpv? Thank you in advance for your answers!
I had/have them in and around my ***, and everwhere up top. Aldara didnt work for me bacuase I waited to long to treat. I will be trying aldara again as soon as i heal up alittle. Its going to be an uphill battle with me as well. I know you probably hear this a bunch but get healthier, even if you're healthy. boost that immune system! stop smoking, drinking, smoking weed!
m a male). I was prescribed ALDARA cream for it. I left the cream on for too long the first week and it felt reallly irritated. I learned later your supposed to wash it off in the morning. After the first week I developed another problem and I wonder if it has something to do with ALDARA. I feel like I have to pee ALL the time. after I go to the bathroom I feel like I have to run back in! It makes my job horrible.
So I found out last week that I have HPV (low-risk with genital warts). I'm really depressed, it feels like its the end of the world! The doctor prescribed me Aldara cream and I just started using it last week, she said it can take up to 8-16 weeks for the warts to go away.
I was prescribed aldara for the treatment of genital warts about two weeks ago and have used it as directed by my provider. The patch of lesions is located on the shaft of my penis, are small, relatively flat, and 1-2 cm in size. I started aldara therapy roughly two to three weeks after onset of lesions. My only concern is that the Aldera isn't triggering an immune response like it should. I have no erythema, edema or any other typical "side effects".
