1047019 tn?1256719961 I'm assuming you are referring to a rescue (Albuterol) inhaler. I agree with Victoireh...why would you want to use an inhaler if you don't have asthma? There are no mood altering effects from it whatsoever...if you use it in prescribed doses, it makes you nervous, get hand tremors and maybe a headache. And if you use excessive amounts, which I did when I was first diagnosed with asthma and was only given an Albuterol inhaler, it will make you feel awful...
Avatar f tn The pollen has been so high and I discovered a mold problem in my house. I have been using my rescue inhaler more, and the spasms in my chest are more frequent. Is it related? This discussion is related to Allergies and Epstein Barr Virus.
1987536 tn?1337916244 Albuterol doesn't bother me as much as advair after reading bunches of articles :(
1344892 tn?1276541735 then i had an ecg and that came back fine apart from my high heart race. my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k. i just want my heart rate to calm down as it is making me feel very faint and i also have a nasty aching in the bottom of my ribs on the left hand side and i am finding it difficult to breathe at times. my neck has also started to ache. i did take my salbutamol reliever inhaler when this first happened but found it made me feel worse.
Avatar f tn I wrote in to this website when my son was 4 years old and started with transient motor tics, right after having two back-to-back illnesses (with a high temperature) and also after being treated with albuterol for severe asthma. His tics have not been as bad as they were the first time he started having them, but are still present at times. He is also growing out of asthma.
435139 tn?1255460391 I have been dealing with this my entire life so I put up with a high amount of breathing disability before I will actually let on to someone that I am not well. It is so bad today I'm not going to work...even walking from one room to another is a huge toll on me...I read that albuterol is a class C drug and has not been studied in pregnancy in humans...in animals is is linked to cleft palate defects and other defects too!
Avatar f tn Both were treated with albuterol and an oral steriod. The second attack caused him to be hospitalized during treatment because he was not responding well to 3 doses of albuterol via nebulizer and had low oxygen sat. (88%). Both of the epsiodes occured during a cold/virus. My Dr. is reccomending a once daily pulmicort treatment for prevention purposes. I am a little hesitant to be giving him this at such a young age and only a short time of displaying these symtoms.
Avatar f tn I was then given Advair Diskus 250/50, after 2 1/2 months called the doctor because of using emergency inhaler Albuterol Sulfate 90mgc min 10 times a day. Albuterol created a vocal cord problem. Now been put on Flovent Diskus 100mgc and continue the Albuterol. Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent. Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema.
Avatar n tn Albuterol is a bronchodilator used to treat many of the same issues as Flovent, but it can also be used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Albuterol comes in a syrup, tablet, or as a suspension in an inhaler. Albuterol works by causing the passages to the lung to relax and open, which makes breathing easier.
Avatar n tn I disagree, but this is often the protocol. Have they prescribed an electrical albuterol inhaler, or any asthmatic meds? The albuterol inhaler will break up the mucus. There are other asmthmatic meds you can use in the inhaler. The use of prednisone while you have an infection is controversial. I know they use it. The problem is that the prednisone sometimes makes the infections go out of control. Make sure you take vitamin D3. Use an expectorant and observe the color of the sputem.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
Avatar f tn I was having a hard time breathing 2 nights ago and decided to try my daughters albuterol inhaler. I used 5 puffs over a 24 hour period. I dont know why but I assumed it was harmless to use while pregnant. Now im looking online and see its a class C! Im nervous I may have done harm to baby. Anyone else use albuterol while pregnant first trimester?

587778 tn?1261397118 Are you sure she had a reaction to albuterol? I can easily see the steroid as the culprit, but albuterol surprises me. Of course, if you overuse it you will get a fast heart beat, but in moderate amounts it is usually OK. I use it and I also take an antihistamine.
1754037 tn?1327886811 Everyone says they know someone who knows someone that something bad happened to :P. As my OB said if you can't breath your baby can't breath. I used albuterol inhale and singular to control my asthma both deemed safe. My daughter has no defects she is perfectly healthy 7.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about sarcoidosis or neurosarcoidosis? Or has your doctor questioned whether or not you may have that instead of MS? I’m wondering if I might have that instead of MS. I scheduled an appt with my neuro for early April to discuss a differential diagnosis with him. It’s on the list for MS mimics. Several reasons why I’m kind of wondering if it is: About 2005 I started going to my doctor for shortness of breath. She thought it might be asthma & gave me albuterol.
757137 tn?1347196453 This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn s well controlled on medications which have included in the past yrs of treatment on Singular, along with inhaled and/or oral steroids/long acting inhaler and rescue albuterol inhaler as needed. Benadryl is oftentimes needed (in high end dosing) for many days at a time after a food reaction occurs.
Avatar n tn We are currently using an albuterol inhaler 15 min before his matches, also a Flovent inhaler twice a day, and have recently started taking singulair. Thus far these have not worked. Please help with any suggestions you may have...we are desperate to help our son succeed in the sport he loves.
Avatar n tn Is there a significant difference between using an albuterol inhaler as opposed to a Combivent inhaler? I have a family member that receives an extra monthly Combivent inhaler but am not sure if it is safe to use long term instead of the albuterol I was prescribed.
1754037 tn?1327886811 Has anyone taken their albuterol inhaler thru out ur pregnancy??? I'm a bit worried if it is safe for my baby! I been taking it since it's the only thing I can take when I can't breath. I just need some re assurance that it is safe & wondering if any1 else pregnant & taking albuterol inhaler.
Avatar n tn Do you really want to be giving your son Pulmicort under any circumstances? It is a corticosteroid with many side effects. For instance it compromises the immune system and weakens bones. For a growing boy that does not sound great. There are natural anti-inflammatories that actually work better than steroids and which do not harm the patient. The albuterol is OK.
