Albuterol in nebulizer

Common Questions and Answers about Albuterol in nebulizer

advair

Avatar f tn Phill, the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form, doesn't it? It's still albuterol? If your doc knows you're on that, it sounds like it would probably be safe to take. Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that? If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away. Best wishes with it.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
Avatar f tn I have never had this in my life. He sent me home with a breathing machine and albuterol. I also took steroids for 5 days. The last time i used the albuterol was on sat. I cant do it anymore. I have had palpitations that will not go away! They do not feel fast, they are slow, and almost like my heart misses quite a few beats. This is non stop. I dont know what to do. I am a smoker and also have panic attacks so u know..I am freakin out!
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar f tn In the United States an albuterol nebulizer requires a prescription. Pharmacists will refuse to provide one even if they see you dying on the floor. These should be made non-prescription. Wall-mart has the best prices, but you much purchase in-store.
435139 tn?1255460391 even walking from one room to another is a huge toll on me...I read that albuterol is a class C drug and has not been studied in pregnancy in humans...in animals is is linked to cleft palate defects and other defects too! Since I am in the 2ww I am not sure if I took my albuterol in my nebulizer if I'd be risking my potential babies health. I'll call my pharmacist or dr. in a couple hours but it is only 5 a.m. and I won't be able to call until 9...when they open.
Avatar f tn My physician has prescribed both Advair 50/250 and Spiriva, along with Pro Air p4-6h prn and nebulizer treatment (Albuterol) q4-6h prn. I am still having problems breathing. Is it okay to take these all at the same time? Will there be any side effects?
726605 tn?1231368596 Do you take these on a daily basis. Medrol is hardcore. What does your doctor say about medrol during pregnancy. I assume you mean albuterol in the nebulizer. I've taken that during pregnancy...but that's when my asthma's been out of control. Sound like the meds you are taking are "short-term". Those aren't anything you would take on a regular basis for controlling asthma. In any event...
1754037 tn?1327886811 I was taking albuterol in a nebulizer machine a minimum of 4-5 times a day..he switched me over to a new nebulizer med called Xopenex, that he says will have less effect on the baby and I actually think it works better. But he told me to keep my rescue inhaler just in case, and use it if I needed it too.
Avatar m tn For the past week i have been having extreme difficulties with my asthma and no matter what i do or where i go nothing is working, my albuterol solution and iprotrium bromide for the nebulizer, my albuterol sulfate inhaler, anti-allergen medications, even herbal treatments nothing is working at all, i have frequented my doctor he says my lungs sound clear and my oxygen blood level is reading good, however there is a tightness in my left lung and its hard to breathe, im having to use the nebulize
Avatar n tn I have just googled and it appears that the answer is yes it can be used, however I suggest that you google and take a look at what they say , we do have a doctor/expert forum on MH and I think you should put this question up there for a more qualified opinion, good Luck
454286 tn?1205883067 lots of phlegm etc, she gave him a Zpak + nebulizer with Albuterol solution. We did that nothing changed. Sent him for second xray, which showed atalectasis and pneumonia altho the report didnt say any pneumonia, just atalectasis. Treated him with 10 days Augmentin and Pedia Pred. Cough cleared up, No sickness either. 6 days after antibiotics , breathing tx's and pedia pred finished, cough returns with fever. Had chest CT and doc says Atalectasis caused by Asthma.
7458937 tn?1391882099 Its medicine you put in a nebulizer. ......im sorry hun. You know where to find me of you need to talk.
Avatar n tn If no improvement after inhaler, then usually there is no asthma component, the higher the improvement, the higher the asthma component. Some people are allergic to the ingredients in albuterol, this may be a possibility, therefore causing more labored breathing. Did you have a CT scan? With COPD, staying away from anyone with a cold is imperative and cleansing hands constantly and wiping down grocery carts, etc. Keep pushing until you get answers.
Avatar f tn I spent the next 3 months going through Albuterol inhalers and albuterol in my nebulizer. And also then Budesonide in my nebulizer. Nothing helped. I was having near-death experiences trying to get to the nebulizer to open up my air passages. I finally called my pharmacy to find out why I did not get my advair and it turned out that I could still get it and my price was the same as always with my medicare. After just one day I was immediately on the mend.
1987536 tn?1337916244 Albuterol doesn't bother me as much as advair after reading bunches of articles :(
Avatar f tn From vitamins to digestive enzymes. From Albuterol Sulfate (in nebulizer) to Singulair. Everything that I ingest in pill form or inhale (chemically) results in a SEVERE allergic reaction or SEVERE adverse reactions!! I've learned to combat the GERD by controlling my diet and eating more raw foods seems to do the trick. BUT my asthma really concerns me. When I last braved a nebulizer treatment with Albuterol, about an hour later I felt as if I were going to suffocate.
678431 tn?1227554311 I use Albuterol Inhalers for my asthma and I've been recently having some trouble with 'em. My mom and I share the same dosages, which I find really weird since I just merely have asthma and she has emphysema as well. But, I've brought that to the attention of m doctor but she still said I needed the same dosage. Plus, it makes me really jittery and shaky.
Avatar n tn I have a question about normal saline for inhalation (as in a nebulizer). I was surprised today to find out that I needed a prescription for this! Why is that? Has it always been the case?
Avatar n tn What did you use in the nebulizer for him? Pulmacort or albuterol? Pulmacort could take quite a while on its own and albuterol without Pulmacort would be very temporary. Also, if he is experiencing allergies you need to be treating them with antihistamines. Also, he is old enough to learn how to do saline sinus rinses. You can get a NeilMed bottle at any pharmacy. That is very helpful in clearing the gunk out of the nose before it causes other problems.
Avatar n tn Hello :-). My son has asthma which manifests itself in a cough and often shows up during/after colds (he doesn't appear to have any problems with breathing in enough air... no emergencies, thank goodness). He takes Singulair every night, Albuterol as needed and Benadryl as needed (all as suggested by his doctor). He recently had a cold and his asthma flared up. We gave him albuterol via his nebulizer 3 times daily for around 6 days (his ped said 4-7 days).
1057060 tn?1266513126 anyways my point is my asthma is manageable, like i wont pass out or anything without medicine it just can make me really lightheaded and very uncomfortable. i have always been on advair and albuterol but since i got pregnant i have refused to take them just because im really uncomfortable taking medicine at all. i wont even take tylenol. this is probably stupid but i figure that if i dont have to have it theres no point in taking it.
Avatar m tn It is an Omron MicroAir Nebulizer and costs $200, or a little less. It is very small and fits in the cell phone slot in my purse (although it is slightly larger). Also it is completely silent. It operates on batteries. I use lithiums because they last for weeks.
Avatar n tn t contain any steroids. My pulmonologist has suggested I add floridil to my albuterol nebulizer. I want to make sure neither contain any steroids and I also want to find out which rescue inhaler is safe for me to use.Thank you.
Avatar f tn Yes I have asthma I was taking prednisone, my emergency inhaler, my daily inhaler, and nebulizer treatments. But when I got further along in my pregnancy the only thing im supposed to do regularly is use my inhalers and its important to stick to them if you have low oxygen or alot of attacks it can make you go into pre term labor.
