Avatar f tn I am obviously on a combination of medications but I am prescribed Modafinil for my ADHD symptoms, they won't even try usual ADHD medication as in my case the repercussions could be dangerous. I find this medication has really helped with my attention and concentration, as bi-polar and ADHD symptoms can overlap I'm realistic with what the medication can do in my case but it has certainly helped.
Avatar f tn Its a great overall link on ADHD and on the left side you will see tons more info - even a quiz to take. The last link is ADHD-Not just for kids anymore. Its another good overall look at the problem. http://www.add.org/?ADHDNotJustFor Perhaps as you get more information, your psyc will listen to you. If not I would look for a psyc who specializes with ADHD. These links will also give some ideas for that.
Avatar n tn there is such a thing as "adult add" go ahead and research it and see if you fall under that catagory. i know you are looking for answers/a reason for your feelings and such. they even have checklists, a quiz if you will to see if you may have add. if it looks as if you do, print out the sheet and show your dr. you can certainly get on some meds to help.

Avatar f tn I have not been diagnosed with anything, though a therapist I saw very briefly had suggested ADHD. My parents tend to assume psychologists are LOOKING for something to be wrong, so they never really took their kids to one. This will be long, but I think the information is needed for an accurate opinion to be formed. As a kid, I had sensory problems.
303824 tn?1294875001 All the research I have seen shows that lack of sleep will make ADHD symptoms worse. The question is what is causing the lack of sleep? The reasons can be either physical (swollen adenoids, etc), ADHD related (its a common symptom), or environmental (his sleeping area and people in it). A lot of physical activity will help him. How old is he? I mean if you could get him on a swim team and exhaust him - you would notice a difference! Melatonin might help.
Avatar n tn I have been down so much these past 2 years with depression symptoms and axiety symptoms. Also me and my girlfreind think I have a possible OCD disorder from these allergies/sinus, when i feel fine which is rare I dont have any anxiety, depression or OCD problems(which makes me believe that my depression/anxiety/OCD is related to allergies/Sinus). My life is suffering dramaticaly from these problems, I really need to find some help very soon.
