I have a college Professor who lives alone and is in a wheelchair. She is in her 70's but was in a bad wreck when she was young. Well she was my professor 30 years ago. She is such a cool person, there are a bunch of us that have become her family. We take turns making up a bunch of meals to leave in her freezer. We all visit her and do errands. She gave her power attorney to one friend she knows she can trust. We all call or go by every day.
Well today is 17 days clean for me. My first 8 days I was home alone. Hubby was out of town. I was kinda glad to be alone going thru wds. But, now that he has been home a week ( and it was a great week) I didn't want him to leave yesterday..He had to.:( My house is to quite. I am restless. I am trying to find things to do..No cravings for hydro..just bored and restless.I am leaving town next week to join him..but DANG this empty nest sometimes.

Well, I have 2 male cats. One of them is 12 years old and cool as a cucumber and the other is 5 and the most neurotic, high strung cat I have ever met. He is so tightly wound, that he has been diagnosed with IBS. (there may or may not be a connection there, but i think there is). Anyway, everything is under control and all is well. My problem is that there will be a 2 week span in the near future where the cats will be home alone.

Is it a lack of security and I’m searching for it? Is it self hatred? I just want to know psychologically what causes these thoughts. I’m not bothered by them cause it’s purely fantasy. Imagination if you will. This is a private fantasy not a fantasy I share with my boyfriend.

Hi. My sympathies are truly with you. Separation anxiety is one of the most difficult behavioral problems anyone has to deal with in canines. I have had a very bad sep anxious rescue dog and I can tell you it takes months of proactive work, which is really hard on owners, to get anywhere close to solving the problem. Medication won't work. I can tell you that straight away.
