I always suggest looking at your dad's/grandpa's/uncles/brothers first, middle and maybe even last names. I'm naming my boy Wesley Daniel. Daniel is my grampas name. My girl Jaycee Bayne, Bayne is my grandma's maiden name and my dad's middle name. Just some advice and examples :) good luck!
There is nothing wrong in telling him that you do not like his grandma's name and that you will not be giving that name to your baby.
You could come to a compromise and ask what his grandma's second name was, like mentioned by AnnieBrooke. Or use the grandma's name as the third or fourth name.
But had the boy name picked out adap. Then found out its a girl lol... I really liked brantley austin. But won't be needing that one :). So my grandma's name was Della and his Marie. How ever my first daughter is named after my mom they both have the same middle name. So I thought maybe his mom and grandma's names as one for the middle so with an a added to the first name ... it would be Adella AnMarie. What do yall think? Or just adella marie?

I have a bit of the same problem. Grandma's name was Esther, and other grandma's name was Hulda, and I like them both but my husband didn't. (Good thing we had a boy.) I think some of the oldies will come back into fashion. I have a friend named Astrid, and I have always loved it.

It is VERY rare but it does happen. I know someone who had ultrasounds and was told it's a girl. Boy oh boy was it a SURPRISE when a boy came out. Both the grandma's of my friend were in emergency mode to return as much of the pink and re do the nursery as a surprise for mom before they came home from the hospital.
So as most of us will of hard our anomaly scan by now I was wondering what we are all having and if you have names picked yet ??
Ahah picking the name...as I said you think your marriage is strong until you have to pick a name :) I'm kiding but well, I didn't think it would be that hard to adjust to each other! We're having a boy here and my partner wants him to have his grandfather's name but I really don't like it and there is no way I name my baby with a name I don't like a 100%, it's for the rest of its life after all!
I am having the same problem. My son turned 5 last week, but since Easter, he has been going number 1 and 2 in his pants. He has done it everywhere...school, the bookstore, grandma's house...etc. I'm freaking out....his is starting Kindergarten in three months....what then? Sorry that I don't have an answer for you, but your not alone.
