Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar f tn ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months.
Avatar n tn I am 75 years old, have had many surguries, including two recent knee replacements. I have great pain, esp at nite down my leg into my foot with numbness, this starts at the hip esp on the left side. What are my options?
Avatar f tn Hi this could absolutely not be due to a crack in the tooth as suggested; a pulsating pain in a tooth could be due to inflammation in the tooth (pulpits) that has progressed to the ligament that holds the tooth. Crack in tooth tend to be painful for a longer period of time and continue to hurt on biting. By suggesting that it doesn’t hurt at the moment whatsoever means that the condition is gone into a chronic phase.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
720656 tn?1311040235 It also seemed to reduce some joint pain and swelling in my knees which I read could be a sx of a hypothyroid. Hope you're feeling better now that your 3 months post.
Avatar n tn I have had some mild pain in tooth #14 for about 3 weeks now. This pain is generally on the cheek side of the tooth with a mild burning near the gumline. This tooth had a small piece broken off of it about 1 1/2 years ago.(the opposite side of the tooth) The tooth has a silver filling. The dentist fixed the broken area with more silver filling. It has bothered me off and on since but is generally bothering me more now.
Avatar n tn I was in severe pain and vomited all night . my tooth is abcest and I cannot take loratabs. what can I do for this pain until I can get the tooth fixed. and why the reaction to tramadol?
Avatar n tn I do not know which tooth is involved and the prognosis of that tooth depends on what type of tooth,ie a molar or an incisor etc.I would hope that the tooth was removed from your bite.If you are feeling it when you put your teeth together then you need to have it adjusted.Your next option if the apico does not work is probably extraction.
Avatar n tn Hi, pat6! I am not a dentist. But if you keep having the pain for 4 month, then you might check into the disorder called, "Phantom Tooth Pain" or "Atypical Odontalgia." You can get the general information by googling these words. I have Atypical Odontalgia, myself. And I just created the website called, atypicalodontalgia.com or phantomtoothpain.com In the website, I put the links to American Academy of Orofacial Pain (www.aaop.org) and other articles.
Avatar n tn I had fractured tooth #14 and my dentist prepped my tooth for a crown. I had some pain while chewing with the temporary, but not with temperature. The dentist said that she didn't think that I needed a root canal. While she was away on vacation, my temporary tooth fell off while I was flossing, and I had to see another dentist in the practice. She fitted me with my permanent crown, despite telling her that my tooth hurt.
Avatar n tn I still can not put any pressure on that tooth- I have not been able to eat on the left side of my mouth since September. If I put any pressure on that tooth- I have a strong shooting pain. I am not sure what to do next..
Avatar n tn Sounds like he left the root exposed or its infected. Those are the only 2 things that cause tooth pain. If its constant throbbing pain that doesn't stop then that would likely be infection. If its only hurting when you try to chew then it sounds like the root is exposed under the crown in which case he should have done a root canal. The latter is my opinion but I'm not a dentist.
Avatar n tn My question is could I still get cavities from my old filler even though I was not feeling any pain in my tooth and why am I still feeling pain after the old filler has been replaced with the new? Do you have any suggestions what I should do and what kind of questions I should be asking my present dentist? Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn It had sludge, stones, and was diseased. I thought great the pain will be gone. Guess what, not a week later- same pain!!! The lump in my throat has only been back a week or so though but it is so aggravating. I try to belch, burp and have even made myself vomit to try to ease it. Strange thing is when I eat it helps it for awhile. Seems like if I've been doing anything bending over alot it brings it on. The severe abdominal pain is not daily but comes on mostly in late evening.
Avatar f tn If you are taking pain reliever and have taken antibiotics and you are having a reoccuring fever of 99.9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing minor pain on my left bottom wisdom tooth. Previously my dentinst performed a root canal on this tooth to save it. I only have this tooth and a crowned molar on this side. I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning and expressed my concern. He X-rayed this side and said there wasn't anything visable or no infection(7/5). While cleaning my teeth that wisdom tooth was experiencing pain that brought tears to my eyes. The dentist prescribed Tylenol 3.
209227 tn?1242346745 I just had breakfast and the pain subside a bit. I try not to chew on the crowned tooth. But I am still calling my dentist tomorrow and hopefully I getting some answer and I will let you know.
Avatar n tn I had a lower left rear tooth removed that had a bridge attached. Since the tooth was extracted and sawed off from the opposite tooth I believe I had dry socket. The hole from the extraction is slowly closing but the pain in my gum on the side and under my tongue area has not decreased. It feels like blisters or open cuts in that area. I have seen my dentist and had the tooth packed 3 times and also repacked it at home with clove oil and also used an anesthetic gel for the outside gum.
Avatar f tn Hi Yorkshiregal, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear that you are having mouth/tooth pain. It can be the pits, especially when complicated by headaches! I don't know a lot about dental and mouth care other then the importance of good dental hygiene. Please know that you are always welcome here but we have a Dental Health Community that may better respond to your post. That forum is focused solely on Dental Care whereas this form is pain management.
Avatar n tn He tapped the crowned tooth and each tooth on either side of the crowned tooth. No pain for me there. He applied cool air around the area. No discomfort. He applied that cool gel to the crowned tooth and to the teeth in the front and back of the crowned tooth to check the nerves. I felt no pain. Of course the crowned tooth felt no sensation because of the root canal that was done on it. He poked around the ridges and gumline and no breaks or leaks were evident.
Avatar n tn Have been having severe tooth pain for 6 days. Dr. says is sinus infection affecting teeth. Dentist says tooth has infection around roots, but says roots are in the sinus cavatity. Am taking antibiotics, pain killers (not helping at all!!)Pain has gotten extremely worse. The only thing that stops the excruciating pain is a sip of cold water washed over the teeth. The pain radiates to teeth around it on top and down in the bottom jaw bone.
