I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.
I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . ANY IDEAS WHAT CAN BE GOING ON WITH ME ?
ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months.
Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta,celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain.

auto immune hepatitis,i came up positive for cocaine on a random drug screen,i work for the railroad,my primary doctor suggested to get a hair follicle test it came back negative,somehow both urine test and hair screen done at same lab,but railroad fired me anyway.railroad would not accept hair follicle,f.r.a. and d.o.t. don,t reconize hair screen,i don't do drugs!how is a person soppose to prove there innocent when they won't except evidence backed by my three forensic toxacolagist.
I am 75 years old, have had many surguries, including two recent knee replacements. I have great pain, esp at nite down my leg into my foot with numbness, this starts at the hip esp on the left side. What are my options?

t prescribing any medication for me but tells me to continue taking calcium supplement and Vitamin D and come back in a year to do another test. Since I am obviously having osteoporosis, shouldn't I be taking any prescription drug? I am worried sick over the reading and need some expert opinion to go back and talk to my doctor again.

If you are taking pain reliever and have taken antibiotics and you are having a reoccuring fever of 99.9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.
A gnawing pain in your bones and muscles. This led to pain in my mid upper arm once in awhile. This spread then to my shoulder, collar bone and shoulder blade. And then to my elbow and wrist on occasion. With sometimes numbness in my pinky finger and the one next to it but that only happened twice. Now is constant and still excruciating if I move just right.
Yes forteo put me flat on my back. It also caused me to have an arrythmia of heart. I will not take it ever again. I can't take the other osteoporosis drugs so just hoping the calcium/Vit D are enough. I am also very careful and pray I won't fall.
He wants me to see a rheumatologist but an available appointment will be months away. I am 75 and have been on Vytorin for at least 5 years as well as Actonel. My bone scan last year was good for someone my age. What should I do while waiting to see an arthritis doctor? How serious could this be?
t believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me. I am taking Paxil and for the last 10 years I was taking Actonel, until my doctor suggested I stop because of medical reports showing after long use, it stops working. I know the 2 problems are not linked, but still remain a concern. Is there a medication to stop me from my late night binges. This is when I eat the most. It seems there would be an appetite supressant that would be helpful.
it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.
ve done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis. I have thought about this long and hard since getting my DEXA result.
Things are worse on my right side than my left/severe pressure behind both eyes/vision and hearing problems/tingling pain in limbs and feet. Having trouble putting tops back on jars/writing down words I am trying to write down. I could go on but no need. Just trying to convey some of my symptoms. Seems like all of this is happening to me pretty quickly since majority of symptoms didn't appear until mid-Nov. Is this mormal to have it hit me so suddenly?
She started out with Fosamax, and after awhile when side effects start from that one, and Actonel was available, they put her on Actonel and she was on Actonel all the way up until it was stopped at 79. So, I have that in my mind (her being mom and my genes and all), and decided that I want to put off bone drugs as long as I can. If I can reverse this w/o them, than I'm going to.
