I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain.

i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . ANY IDEAS WHAT CAN BE GOING ON WITH ME ?
I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.
I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Wow you posted on my birthday and we seem to have a few of the same symptoms. I am in need of relief ASAP. This is the type of pain that wears on your nerves and tends to make one a bit irritable. I am 56 and mine also is mostly at night here's my story.
I am a 56 yr young female. Who is a Christian and loves the Lord. Before all this occurred and even after some what enjoyed living, traveling, dancing, gardening, being with friends and family to the fullest.
ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months.
Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken.

It started to hurt every time I would walk long distances and would feel like I had my socks bunched up under my toes. It graduated to constant ball of foot pain with numbness in the ball of foot and toes with tenderness between the metatarsal bones on both feet. Has anyone ever had this or currently has the same symptoms? I have been to my GP who thinks it is a foot issue. I have an appointment with an Orthopedic, but could not get an appointment until April.
If you are taking pain reliever and have taken antibiotics and you are having a reoccuring fever of 99.9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.
im 51 and just started to have foot and toe pain, i seem to have some kinda of reddish blueish rash on my feet, which is more just on the sides up to my little toes on both feet, its not raised,but does seem to itch just a little, but the pain can be over bearing most of the time, it has effected my 5th toe on my left foot., my big toes are somewhat red to, ive been to my dr.
Started having foot pain and swelling in my right foot only. I have been to the ER and to my doctor. (about 3 years ago, I had tendonitis) At the ER they thought it was gout, but only did an xray (which only showed swelling). My doctor doesnt think its gout, because its affecting the middle of my foot up towards my ankle.(more towards the right side of the middle of my foot) It has also climbed up to my ankle now and starting to get slight pain above my ankle.
I have sciatic nerve damage due to a hip replacement in 2005. I have foort drop,pain,burning and numbness in rt foot and rt calf. Can't drive and had to go on disability. Anyone out there with similer problems. would like to here from them. Any relief besides meds for this?
I also have foot ache/ pain as well as hands. I have tried using Ben Gay at night and when the pain is intense and it seems to help. I have also started taking a mix of glucosamine/ condroiten (spelling) this helps, but does not eliminate the pain. I take Osteo-bioflex triple strnegth. I have also wrapped my feet in a heating pad, which helps me to stay active. I feel like me hands/ feet are swollen (but not to look at) and cold.
Thanks for your response. I have seen many doctors, but I can't seem to find someone who will really give me the time to look at the whole picture. Two years ago they said that it was plantar fasciitis(normal x-Ray but MRI showed some mild plantar fasciitis, had shots and months of PT and Home stretching and icing. Months later I went to another doctor who did another xray and on scan that showed fractures in both calcaneus .
I also have Type II diabetes (I take insulin) and have foot pain but mine is really limited to the left heal for the "bruised" feeling. The rest of the foot just aches. Sometimes I'll just have the heal pain and nothing else and then sometimes both my feet will hurt and the heal won't be so bad. I go to the chiropractor and she really helps with that pain.

As your husband is a diabetic and moreover there is a soft sore on the foot,so the possibility of diabetic foot is there. Diabetic foot is an umbrella term for foot problems in patients with diabetes mellitus.
To prevent diabetic foot ulcers,he should have good foot hygiene, wear diabetic socks and shoes, and avoid injury.A consultation of a podiatrist will be the best.
