I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . It sounds like your surgeon is describing osteonecrosis. There is an entity known as "spontaneous onsteonecrosis of the knee." or "SPONK" This occurs rarely after knee after knee arthroscopy and can resolve after a period of rest and non-weight bearing. I t is not usually a reult of swelling. If anything, two weeks may be to soon to expect any change, either positive or negative, and often 6 weeks is used before re-evaluation.

I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.

No this is not from TMJ, I had osteonecrosis in my jawbone, had 3 surgeries and haven't had any pain since I was on the methadone but now that I am down to 18mgs the pain is starting to come through, my sister tells me it is rebound pain???
I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain.

I think sometimes the radiologist can tell, like in my case, he highly suggested I had osteonecrosis of the femur rather than osteochronditis dissiccans, and which the radiologist thought after reading the bone scan because it was a hot lesion. It also said there was a large Baker's cyst.
