Actonel dosage monthly

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel dosage monthly

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar f tn liver enzymes shoot up, her doctor increases dosage, this is followed by decrease in enzyme levels in next monthly blood test, then doctor slowly decreases dosage, this is always followed by increase in liver enzyme level, and so on. This has been going on for an year now I am thinking if increased dose reduces enzyme level, then why decrease the dosage at all. Is it only fear of side-effect?
850233 tn?1332084532 Hi, well depends if you are now stable? i went 3 monthly for a year now six monthly..If you are not right with being stable yet i would be doing 3 monthly bloods..
1099201 tn?1338180918 Your monthly cycle can be disrupted by hypothyroidism. If your dosage wasn't adjusted properly or you weren't absorbing it adequately, that could have had something to do with not having it. It's possible that going to compounded medication got rid of some of the fillers/binders in the other med and you're getting better absorption of your med, which may have increased your hormone levels, thereby bringing back your cycles. Exercise used to help alleviate my monthly cramps.
Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with mild hypothyroidism and tested positive for anti-thyroid antibodies in December after my 2nd miscarriage. My doctor wanted my TSH below 2 (it was 5) and it took 2 dosage increases to get it down. I suspected my mother had the same problem (she has had symptoms for years) and she ended up in the emergency room in February with severe swelling and rash.
1139187 tn?1355706647 ll let you know the results when I get them. I am also taking Actonel 150mg monthly for the osteoporosis. As far as side effects, I have not experienced any in any form. Everything appears all right down below. If I recall, I was on 2 actuations per day for about 6 months and then had a t-level taken which dictated increasing the dose to 3 actuations. In another 6 months, the same story, so I was increased to 4 actuations.
Avatar f tn Monthly testing should be adequate. This is just my opinion but I think that increasing the dose every two weeks may be too quickly to get the full effect from the last increase. Being Armour , which has T3, it will affect your body faster than a T4 med, but I'm still not convinced that symptoms will be affected and noticed by you in that short a time. I think I would take it slower and have the blood test before the next increase.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
691983 tn?1266804832 I'm glad to hear that the vitamin D is helping you for now. I think that hormones and "female problems" such as PMS, fibroids and endometriosis... all go along in people who have autoimmune diseases (and I'm including CFS and fibro). I get SEVERE migraines every month, due to estrogen dominance.
Avatar m tn I heard the effectivesnees of accutane is increased with a twice daily dosage. True? I will be taking 40mg a day, once a day. Would it be better to take 20 mg twice a day? Also, is it ok to take glucosamine for my joints while on accutane? Lastly, should I be getting a monthly blood test? Or any other precautionary measures?
Avatar m tn the higher the dosage the better but since sim may have sides on liver it is better to start with 20mg or 40mg and then check if there is any rise of alt/ast if not you can try the higher dosages there is a post with link in the community where a doctor suggested how to use statins for viral infections also check ketaconazole post, it is even more potent than statins but it has also liver toxicity so it must be used checking alt/ast monthly
Avatar m tn Hello everyone. I've been on Lexapro for about 12 weeks now, 7 of which have been on the highest dosage, 20mg. I haven't noticed any change in my anxiety, only for worse. How much time should I give an SSRI before I can say with good precision that it doesn't work for me? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I had RAI for a toxic adanoma (hyperthyroid) in Dec but my energy levels are really bad and I have had three colds this year. My monthly cycle seems to have stopped and I am putting weight on every week even though I am not overeating any more. My tsh has been normal since two weeks after treatment it is now 1.9 (hypo 5 or more). Does it take time to get over this treatment? My pulse at rest is still high 98 but no palpatations.
Avatar f tn Increase in thyroid meds can be 20 - 40% of the prepregnancy dose. it is normal to have to readjust monthly during the pregnancy and testing should be monthly. Also your doctor should be testing FT3 and FT4 and making sure that meds are adjusted to keep them in the upper 1/3 of the reference range. Best wishes and let us know how you go.
1026267 tn?1257591273 When I asked pharacist about the price (last year) it was $200/mo regardless of whether it was taken daily or monthly. Now that I have a different perscription plan, Endo thinks I should check the price again. It isn't just the price that is making me anxious, it is the fact that I wonder if it is a sure preventative.
Avatar f tn Are u taking your temps to monitor if you actually did ovualte on cd 14? If you are and temps increased there is no need to keep taking an OPK. If Clomid at 50mg does work for you then there is no reason to increase the dose. Clomid helps you to ovulate it does not mean you will get pregnant tho. So if u see that you do in fact ovulate on 50mg clomid but do not get pregnant keep on with the 50mg. To increase the dose does bring on more unpleasant side effects.
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.
Avatar f tn After completion of I-131, I was put on 200 mcg Eltroxin. Monthly blood tests revealed that the dosage was too high and step wise the dosage was reduced. With dosage of 100 microgram of eltroxin, the lab report was as follows: TSH: 0.07 micro IU/ml (normal range: 0.35-4.94), Free T3: 2.91 pg/ml (NR- 1.71-3.71), Free T4: 1.58 ng/dl (NR-0.7-1.48). With dosage of 75 microgram, the lab results were as follows: TSH: 7.75, T3: 2.45, T4:1.04. The Doctor recommends I take the 75 mcg.
Avatar f tn UND @ 6 weeks of 24 weeks. Horrible sides ! Anyone know if dosage reduction would be a a possibility? Thank you for your time.
