Actonel once monthly

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel once monthly

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
Avatar m tn I was treated with the 24 wk interferon and ribavirin geno 2...3 months after treatment undected next and the 6 month test is in 2 weeks. I have two friends that have been recently told they have 'C'. However, they have heard there is a new treatment with monthly injections coming soon, I am saying to them do the treatment now and don't wait. Any Information You Have Would be appreciated.
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.
666921 tn?1254990618 Things were much worse when I was first ill ... because I had babesiosis and it's a bear. Now that I have 'only' Lyme, I seem to get a flare about once a week lately, feeling a little tired, a little confused sometimes, memory a bit slow, eyes a little red, a little short of breath sometimes, my breastbone aching a little bit where the cartilage connects to the ribs (Lyme loves cartilage).
1139187 tn?1355706647 ll let you know the results when I get them. I am also taking Actonel 150mg monthly for the osteoporosis. As far as side effects, I have not experienced any in any form. Everything appears all right down below. If I recall, I was on 2 actuations per day for about 6 months and then had a t-level taken which dictated increasing the dose to 3 actuations. In another 6 months, the same story, so I was increased to 4 actuations.
Avatar f tn I have IBS> I started to take fosamax once a week (for osteo). did so for 4 weeks. it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.
691983 tn?1266804832 I'm glad to hear that the vitamin D is helping you for now. I think that hormones and "female problems" such as PMS, fibroids and endometriosis... all go along in people who have autoimmune diseases (and I'm including CFS and fibro). I get SEVERE migraines every month, due to estrogen dominance.
551343 tn?1506830518 in the UK an expert on Lymes from Porton Down was saying that once you have lymes and it is in your there is no cure, and he was complaining about all the bogus treatments in the states and said they were useless. So that made me feel really depressed. I have been having councelling now and feel a lot better in my head and can finally cope better with what is going on in my life. anyway just wondered if this is normal for Lymes. Thanks guys. Maria who has come back from the dead so to speak.
Avatar f tn I had my baby already. I'm just wondering if it is normal to not have a monthly cycle 3 months post baby. I got a depo shot the day I left the hospital but I still saw blood for 2months and now nothing at all.
173939 tn?1333217850 Since doomsday seems to be coming when I scroll down in this forum, I wonder if we can gather brilliant ideas on how to reduce monthly expenses. I already see that many companies will skip the salary increase this year despite raging inflation. And investment banking just doesn`t seem like a good idea at the moment. What else remains to do? Reduce the expenses. The monthly trickle of $$. - Luckily I now have a low gas mileage car. I need to fill up just twice a month. Savings: 100 $ per month.
Avatar n tn Ibandronate (Boniva injection) is injected into your vein once every three months, and zoledronic acid (Reclast) is injected once a year. If approved by your physician these treatments do not cause stomach distress and you do not have to remember to take a tablet. If these are the injections or "shots for osteoporosis" that your mom's physician is discussing there are fairly well know and widely used.
Avatar f tn I am in my 30's and I have always had a normal 3-5 day monthly menstral cycle until the last 4 years I have been having a menstral cycle once every year. I have no idea why. Since I this has happened to me I have had rapid weight gain, bachaches, headaches & mood swings. My stomach swells up every so often. I get alot of lower abdomen pain. My mood swings are horrible. I have been to a gynocologist who tested me twice for my thyroid and other test whcih all came out fine.
547181 tn?1255146506 Hi every one I hav heard that anew drug for HCV is ready to be launched within one year. This drug will be injected only once in a month. Does anybody have idea about this new invention?????
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar n tn m 40 years old and recently found out that I also have osteo penia in one of the vertabrae in my lower back and my doctor wants me to take Actonel...however, those bone density medications can really exacerbate the reflux problems.
