actonel and knee pain

I am 75 years old, have had many surguries, including two recent knee replacements. I have great pain, esp at nite down my leg into my foot with numbness, this starts at the hip esp on the left side. What are my options?

i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . ANY IDEAS WHAT CAN BE GOING ON WITH ME ?

I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.

I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.

Once I got the cortisone shot the rib cage pain and stiffness went away as well as the leg pain and stiffness. I still had the knee pain and pain and stiffness in both shoulder, to the point where I still have difficulty putting on a shirt.

One may develop some kind of intestinal problems with Actonel and the alternative to that is to not to take drug empty stomach, that is to take it after a meal. Please let us know if you may have nay other queries and what your doctor says. Good luck.

There are non- or less-invasive treatments (physical therapy, pain management specialists, synvisc injections, custom knee braces) that could alleviate some of the pain and stave off the inevitable. You may be able to get relief with a partial knee replacement, if one side of your knee is significantly worse than the other. Good luck!

I have spasticity and quite a bit of pain in my knees. Most of the pain is along the side of my knee, but sometimes it's' up at the top of my knee in the muscles or whatever is above it.

I am just wondering how long it could take for a quad muscle to heal from a direct blow but with no bruising and if the weakness in the VMO muscle could cause my knee to pop and IT band to snap at times and cause pain in my pes anserine bursa. I did see a orthopedic who said he is not sure. X-rays were negative but I have a high deductable insurance so I am trying not to get an MRI.

Within, the last three years I have had 6 knee replacements and 2 staph infection removals in the same knee. I started with dilauid 10mgand then my surgeon put me on OxyContin 10mg. However, my pain became worst so I was sent to a pain management doctor who know has me on 15mg OxyContin and 15mg morphine er.

Thanks for replying. My doctor has made no official diagnosis but asked me to bend and flex my knee and leg this way and that. She said that my knee joint is a bit loose. I'm getting an x ray to find out and physio but I'm still waiting on both of these letters to get to me. I'll use the codeine and I have laxatives at home. I've been drinking more water lately so a bit more might help.

I dislocated my knee cap badly a few weeks ago while i was on holiday. I was told by the specialist that i have snapped the ligaments and my leg was to be in a cast from thigh to ankle for 6 weeks before physio started if the ligaments healed, if they didnt heal i would need surgery to put fake ones in. When i got home the cast had slipped and i hadnt got the notes sent through so i went up to A & E to see what they said and they have changed me to a leg brace.

I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. After some 3 to 4 months later in the same area there is tinigling sensation develop, this tingling slowly progressive towards thigh region 1 yr back pain in the lateral aspect of the left popliteal fossa develop which is sharp and burning nature and radiating towards calf muscles.

ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. If I will do yoga in the morning then whole day I will get shin pain and knee pain also,mostly below the knee and side of the knee cap.I have a swelling from last 1 year below my knee cap and above the tibia.It is not growing but as usual the with the same size.And the shin area ,mostly side of the tibia area is sore to touch,if by mistake i will bang that area the I will get severe pain .

My pain when bending my knee is in the back of my leg (behind the knee I guess you could say) in my left leg and the groin pain is on the right side - what do you think about that?
