Avatar m tn ve read various reviews on using hydrocortisone cream for the face with people stating it thins out your skin and worsens acne symptoms. I feel the Clindamycin is acceptable, but I am wondering if it is safe to use the hydrocortisone cream or if I should substitute it with desonide OR just skip those two ointments altogether? I don't mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it.

Avatar f tn About twenty years ago I was treated with a prescription cortisone cream for an allergic reaction on my cheeks. I continued to use it nightly for a couple of years even though the rash resolved in about a month. It just made my cheeks feel really good. My dermatologist told me it could cause thinning of my skin so I stopped. A couple of months ago I woke up to fing a pock mark on my cheek. I never had acne or any infection in that spot.
Avatar n tn Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. We even paid out of pocket for dermabrasion treatments several years ago. She is currently on the form of the Pill as well to help with the acne. There is some scarring, but not severe. She is a young woman and frustrated and wants a solution to this situation.

Theres an annoying blister on there too. My question is: is it possible to get any laster treatment or or pulsed light or dermabrasion or anything on my penis to help with the scarring? A pamphlet for Palomar pulsed light says it can be performed anywhere on the body except around the eyes.

Avatar n tn Hi, This could be warts. There is no single treatment for warts that is 100% effective and different types of treatment may be combined. You should consult a skin specialist for the symptoms. If these are plane warts - she would benefit by using salicylic acid cream, cryotherapy, curettage and light cautery. If these are filiform warts - cryotherapy or curettage and light cautery would help.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about the scarring after-effects of accutane? I've read several reports of scarring left after it's use. I'm sure that scars are to be expected, as with any open wound, but I don't know if these reports are by anyone with abnormalities with healing/scarring. Here is the situation... I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.

Avatar n tn t say what you have already tried but the standard treatment for body acne is a course of oral antibiotics like Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily and a topical retinoid gel such as Retin-a. Avatar n tn ve seen a doctor twice for this - he prescribed doxycycline to try and clear up the acne - which it has gone away with just a little scarring - but now I am left with painful, sometimes burning skin in the groin fold. It appears very dry, but I am hesitant to apply any sort of moisturizers in that area. There are no blisters, redness, etc...just pain! The skin is slightly white but looks like a similar texture to dry skin on another area of my body like my hands.

Avatar m tn Recently i heard that toothpaste works as a great acne cream. All excited i rushed to put some on the few pimples that I had and had decided to use it as a facial mask on the areas around my nose. I made a horrible mistake and had left it on overnight.
