It has now been three weeks post-accutane, and I am starting to get more and more whiteheads. Not the big inflamed whiteheads I used to get but it looks like things are returning. My dermatologist prescribed retin a micro. I was really hoping accutane would finally be the answer and am reluctant to start another treatment that is said to cause initial breakouts and red, irritated, and peeling skin.
A year or so later, I used accutane, but only for 3 months or so. The accutane reduced the cysts but made my skin very dry, particularly on my forehead and lips. I stopped using accutane due to the side effects and basically gave up on my skin. For the next two years my forehead continued to have very dry, dead looking skin on it and my skin had moderate-severe acne.
I will be sure to have my face clear of whiteheads before bed and EVERY morning, I wake up with at least 2 or 3 new ones. When I leave my house for work during the day, no whiteheads, but by the time I get home another 2 or 3 on my face. I do not use heavy makeups, and all of my products are oil-free and non comedogenic.
I thought my acne would finally be cured for life, or at least not covered in spots again, and now after being off it for about a month my skin is covered in Little whiteheads that will not go and has been like this for a few weeks, worst on my nose. This did not happen to my skin after I finished my 1st course, my flare up didn’t happen for about 4/5 months. Any help?
My worst battle with acne was in early 2016, and just to give a little insight on that phase, my face was completely covered with all kinds of acne, from whiteheads to blackheads to cysts, and it was so painful that I couldn't sleep on my sides comfortably.
ive got whiteheads under the foreskin on my penis. they've been there for ages now i wash it twice a day ive scrubbed them but i cant pop them because it stings too bad is there anything else i can try or are they just going to be there for ever?

Im a 26 years old and may be 4 - 6 weeks pregnant. I have done a couple of home pregnancy test which all tested positive. My OB/Gyn appointment is not until next week. My husband is currently taking Accutane and had been on the medication for 4 months and counting. I've read that while taking Accutane, women are strictly advised against getting pregnant as it causes serious birth defects. Is it the same case for man taking Accutane?
Acne inversa is another name for hidradenitis suppurativa. but that condition primarily affects the armpits and sometimes the groin, not the buttocks. So it's hard for me to answer your questions without knowing for sure what you have. Have any cultures for bacteria been done? Biopsies? It is true that Accutane doesn't work very well for cystic diseases that aren't true acne, but nothing else does either, so a course of this drug seems reasonable.
I have been taking accutane for 7 months now. 20 mg first month, 40 next, then 80 which is my current dose. I have a predicted one more month to go(and it has been helping). A few months ago I noticed my hair was getting thinner. I asked my doctor about it and he said he did not know anything about accutane causing hair loss. I have researched it and found that it does. Why do you wait a year to prescribe topical treatment after Accutane? What skin care regime do you recommend? Do you prescribe antibiotics if the Accutane doesn't perform well? It has been difficult to get rationale for Accutane treatment. Thank you for your advice...
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
Hi, I have a problem thats seems to have me worried. I have these small whiteheads on the base and pubic hair region. I recently developed these whiteheads; before they were never there. They dont hurt or anything but for me its just an unpleasant sight. I do shave my pubic area occasionally and im not sure if its from my razor irritating my skin thus causing whiteheads or what.

ve had for weeks now. I went to my dermatologist and because there were several whiteheads on my neck he didnt even take a second look and told me it was acne. I'm pretty sure its not acne though.
A couple of weeks ago I had patches of bumps on both side of my neck (left and right side only and clear in the middle) these bumps were irritating (my skin felt tight) but it was skin colored and barely noticeable so I didn't do anything about it.
Ok so I have a couple whiteheads on my nipples that have been there, in the same place for as long as I can remember. I pop them often, whenever I wash I pop them and they are just like whiteheads, yet they haven’t gone away in years. I have no clue why it’s now that I’m realizing that this isn’t normal but should I be concerned and just live with nipple whiteheads my whole life??
This Med help isn't very helpful. I posted this 3yrs ago, and haven't had any replies. Doctor says "no" to Hiperhydrosis, cut out wheat for a while, tried all topical ointments, anti-antiperspirants, alcohol, thyroid checked, dermatologist was lame,>direct prescription for accutane, which isn't going to happen, and still seem to get oeveheated and sweat for no reason. Good luck to anyone trying to stay away from prescriptions.
I suffered from bad horrid evil acne for many years and my ex boyfriend did also but his dr. put him on accutane and once i started to see it zap his skin i tried it too and it zapped my skin too.
it really is great, but you do have to complain a lot to your dr. because this stuff is expensive and for the insurance to pay for it you really have to complain a lot i found. tell your dr.
Other necessary precautions are to avoid exposure to UV rays, avoid too much alcohol, and not to take tetracycline antibiotics whilst on Accutane or for 5 weeks afterwards. Female Accutane patients must use two forms of contraception whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks afterwards. Male patients do not need to abstain from unprotected sex but must not donate blood in case it is given to a pregnant women.
17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. Antibiotics and other topical have not worked well enough and the dermatologist is recommending that I go on accutane. I have an app. about it in several weeks. My father had severe acne until he took accutane for 3 months at a high dose without recieving any negative side effects, which cleared up 90 percent of the acne. My mother didnt have acne. I am ready to go on accutane, but the thing is that I do submission wrestling.
Hi, I have been on accutane for about alittle over a month. My dose is 20mg per day. I noticed about my fifth week using it that I developed a rash on the top of both my hands. It looks like little dots/pimples. They don't itch or burn. I thought it was ezema but I don't know. Is this a side effect from the accutane? Does anyone know how to treat this rash? I never had this before.
