Accutane for clogged pores

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane for clogged pores

accutane

Avatar f tn I have had persistent but fairly mild acne since I was 18 (almost 11 years now). Last year I gave in and went onto accutane for 8 months which transformed my skin from oily with constant but mild cystic acne (usually on my chin) to zero spots and just a slight oiliness. However, since lockdown I’ve noticed my skin has changed again on my chin. The pores on my chin and sometimes a few around my nose are constantly clogged and bumpy.
Avatar f tn Hi!I have suffered from acne for 10 years until i took accutane that cleared my acne(now 21 years old)...Over these years my acne got worse and now i m left with small scars like holes ang huge pores on cheeks, nose and forehead that make me look older. Some of my pores are scared and the overall texture of my skin is bad.Is there any effective treatment and which type of laser would be the best and less risky for my skin condition? Thank you in advance!!
Avatar m tn Prior to Accutane I was on Bactrim and Minocycline for entirely too long (mino for about two years, then bactrim for about two, and then mino again for two more years). Outside of the occasional red mark which more closely resembles a pimple that is not terribly sore, and a case of jock itch every so often, I have no reason to suspect that I have an STD such as herpes. But I'm still concerned.

But as soon as it is safe to, I will be using it again to get rid of scarring from hives on my face. This will dry out your skin though, so you should use it every second day or make sure you find a good moisturizer. I use a lotion called "Coplex 15". It is non-comedogenic (wont clog pores).
8101930 tn?1420001456 I just started using coconut oil in my lotion remedy and now there is bumps on my tummy... Just On my tummy. . No where else. It's Not itchy... Is it a rash or just maybe clogged pores resulting in pimples? Or is my skin just very sensitive to it? I am going to stop using it and see if it goes away. Anyone else deal with something like this?
Avatar n tn So lately when I pump I.noticed my right has been putting out more milk than my left and that only 1 or 2 pores are releasing milk but on my right there's a bunch of pores where milk comes out of when I finish pumping my left still is full and heavy...
Avatar n tn Hello, for the past few months, I've had patches on my forehead that feel like dry skin but look like clogged pores. I can't get the pores to unclog which makes me think its NOT clogged pores, but unlike dry skin, its not flaking or coming off if I run my nail over it. I just realized that I do have some milia on either side of my face, but while those were easy to identify, this patch is not. There are also some other small patches of the same thing on my cheeks.
Avatar m tn For acne, I was prescribe 6 months of accutane - which did wonders for my facial/body acne. However, in the last couple of years I have struggled with controlling back acne. For sweating, when I was 20 I received botox injections in my forhead and armpits - which worked well. Not amazingly, but helped for sure. I had been getting injections every 6 months.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had been on accutane for almost two months (60 mg a day). In the first month I had some headaches and dizziness but it wasn't a big deal. But, a couple weeks into the second month I started having really, really awful pounding pressuring headaches with really bad eye pain and dizziness. It hurt to move my eyes around and I had some difficulty focusing and changing my focus.
Avatar m tn I suffered from bad horrid evil acne for many years and my ex boyfriend did also but his dr. put him on accutane and once i started to see it zap his skin i tried it too and it zapped my skin too. it really is great, but you do have to complain a lot to your dr. because this stuff is expensive and for the insurance to pay for it you really have to complain a lot i found. tell your dr.
Avatar n tn Pretty sure those are black heads you're describing. It's a different form of pimple essentially. The skin, oils, and everything has clogged the pores and stays there. I'm pretty sure the official advice isn't to "pop" them, but it works. To prevent this, clean your face more often. However if you have a problem with acne this won't be the final solution to your problem.
Avatar n tn i have these small brown dots no bigger then the size of a pinhead on my shaft that are slight raised if i squeze them off they will come off but am just curious what they might be ive had them for a year or so now and just wanted an experts opinion from what ive researched they might be clogged pores i plan on showing them to my doctor at my next physical in a few months
Avatar f tn s probably just that your pores are clogged.
1139089 tn?1260884301 I have small holes in my nose about the size of a pin, and my sister said that her dermatologist said that those are clogged pores (she has them too). I'm thinking maybe the apple cider vinegar reacted to the clogged pores and made an impression. Anyway, thanks again!
Avatar m tn I have always had rough skin with clogged pores all over my body, except for the bottoms of my arms and legs, the tops have them though.
Avatar n tn How to you shrink pores on your nose if they are not caused by blackheads or clogged pores and how do you rid your face of roscea, cheek area? This discussion is related to Pore strips and large nose pores.
Avatar f tn I doubt that they are clogged pores (they're now filled with some yellow-ish crust that bleeds when pinched), but thank you for the advice.
Avatar n tn Was the cause of this ever discovered? My daughter is 21 months old and has the same problem. Tiny white dots on her nose, like clogged pores, but I can't see any openings. Maybe milia? Did you find a solution?
Avatar n tn I also noticed that there were a few tiny white bumps along the corner of my upper lip but these appeared to be really oily clogged pores with sebum coming out in tiny spikes. I tested negative for HSV1 and HSV2 this summer and have not really been with anyone since then. I saw my PA today and he started to write me out a prescription for zovirax but decided to have me get my labs done again since it has been six months and i tested neg last time.
Avatar n tn It's probably clogged pores or ingrown hairs. Try to keep the area clean and see if they go away. If they last for a long time, then you can make a doctors appointment to see what they are and better ways to treat it.
Avatar f tn Yes these are milia, very common and very similar to pimples in that they are caused from clogged pores from bacteria, sweat, oil and/or dead skin cells. They are a little tougher to treat because their whiteheads are firmer than your typical pimple but very, very gentle exfoliation (especially under the eyes. Don't even risk it if you can't be supercareful!) can help shed the dead skin cells and make way for the new ones to surface.
