after 5 days, my whole body errupted with a rash and hives extremely itchy .. went to another Doctor who looked, felt the pimples, and seen the hives and rash .. he prescribed APO-HYDROXYZINE 25MG and after 32 hours the rash and hives increased spreading all over and more ithcier than before .. he also precribed Noritate 1% cream plus pHisoHex wash for the private area .. no help nothing improved the rash increased and so is the itch .. Any one with an answer to this ..
Take her off the ALLERGIA as that can cause bad hives. I got horrible leg pains and hives down both my legs that by the time I knew what caused it I had to use antibiotics to heal it. Try children's ZYRTEC and one Tagament a day. Watch for an hr to see if she gets a allergic reaction to what ever she uses or eats if earache, coughing,itching start remove what ever she is using or eating for one week.
I have Discoid Lupus....and JUST started getting really bad hives from C-section scars up my tummy after giving birth to my 2nd child. I had lots of tests done saying I"m literally allergic to everything...food, outside, inside etc...to just take zyrtec and deal with it. I do not believe I'm allergic to all of that, I mean Potatoes?!? There is no way.
My Daughter who is 19 years old has had severe hives ever since she was 5. She has been tested for food allergies and appears to have none, yet every time she gets sick, she breaks out from head to toe in raised hives on her body. Thanks so much for your response. I am not breastfeeding so I took some Zyrtec that my husband has for his allergies. Its only been an hour & the itching is soooo much better. Hopefully this condition is just due to my hormones & wont last much longer. I will take the Zyrtec til it does. Again. Thanks very much.

I had hyperthryoid symptoms for a couple weeks, including racing pulse, flushed face, restless, increased bowl movements and persistent hives. These symptoms improved except for the hives. Recent blood test showed 7.5 TSH, TPO ab 381, Thyrodlobulin ab 51 and Free T4 is at 1.3, normal. All other blood work, CBC, normal.
This looks like Hashimotos. Can a person first have hyperthyroid symptoms and then go to Hashimotos?
I also have persistent hives.
About two weeks after that I started to get hives. Now instead of hives I get like red marks on my skin. The hives literally itch and burn so bad. Zyrtec helps. The hives/welts/marks come and within minutes they are gone. They appear all over my body including face. This has been happening for two months now. I have been to both my doctor and dermatologist who have both said it is chronic hives. Could it really be chronic hives or does this sound like std? Please help. I'm scared.
I usually spot a couple of small bumps which then spread all over my legs and turn into hives. Around my knees the hives are clustered and raised and flat. And on my thighs my skin becomes discolored and there are white splotches everywhere with a hive in the middle. I'll usually take a benadryl and it'll go away, but I'm sick of taking it. Have you tried claritin? I started using that to combat my allergies with perfume, but found that zyrtec worked better. I'm not sure about other allergy meds though, have you tried nasal sprays?
Benadryl knocks me out in seconds so I understand not wanting to take it all the time- have you tried using the tablets and cutting them in half? I found a 1/4 of the adult dosage works well enough on reactions my Zyrtec isn't good enough for without causing excessive drowsiness.
I've been getting hives for the past year or so. It comes fast and disappears fast. It can occur anywhere on the body, mainly on my arms and back. I often get an outbreak in summer and heat triggers it (eg: I can't go into a spa as my body will have a breakout straight away).
Several years ago, I began to break out in hives for weeks. I went to all types of specialists.... dermatologists, allergists, and finally an endocrinologist. The dermatologist ran a full blood panel and discovered that my TSH was 12 and that the hives may be a result. The endocrinologist somewhat agreed and begin treatment with levothyroxine. My dosage was increased to .125 during my pregnancy, however after my daughter was born in Feb. 2010, I stopped the thryroid medication.
