zyrtec constipation

Both Allegra and Zyrtec are 24 hour medications in my area. I have known several people who took 3 Zyrtec in one day, and my allergist says that you can't really OD on antihistimines. You should be sure to drink PLENTY of water and watch for signs of constipation and dehydration. You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking.

Can I take allergy medications?

I had similar issues with Lexi. Her pediatrician said its normal to hear that congestion in their chests as newborns and infants and didn't bat and eyelash. She's ten months old now and still has it. she has allergies so she does take liquid zyrtec now, but I haven't noticed a difference. As for the constipation, we gave Lexi one ounce of prune juice and one half of a pediatric glycerine suppository.

I take prilosec every day and my doctor says its fine. I would get off the zyrtec D and start the 24 hour zyrtec liquigels. You only take it once a day. You don't need the decongestant in the zyrtec D. You may be stuffy for a few days until you ween yourself off the decongestant but you will be okay. If you have that much diarrhea try taking some iron pills. I take 324 mg b/c of low iron. It makes you go a couple of times a day and regulates you and your stool.

I did not know I was poisoning myself for a couple years taking spoiled cetirizine bought at the Sam's Club. At least two giant bottles with small one attached. Can not sweat out cause it has damaged my heart & blackout to try to sweat .Intestines will not work, laxative every day chronic constipation on liquid Ensure never constipated whole life. kidneys trying & urinating constantly,Very hard to stay hydrated. Very bloated. Dizzy & blacking out. Thyroid nodules.

has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?

I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.

Do any of you lady's take zyrtec for allergies? I don't like taking anything period but my allergies are sever. I claritan with my son but I feel like zyrtec works better. I was told its just as safe but figured I'd see what you lady's take.

I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? i started taking zyrtec about 6 months ago for post nasal drip and watery eyes. i took it almost every day and felt much better. i figured i would stop and see if my allergies were better. bad idea. after 48 hour without zyrtec i start to itch everywhere. it starts between my fingers and wrists and feet and ankles and ends up everywhere. i take a pill and it goes away. i have tried to stop many times but the itching is just too bad.

I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good? i take allergy meds, starting zyrtec D today and i take benedryl at night ONLY because it calms me down and helps me sleep. i know anxiety makes this condition worse. but there IS a condition here. and it's only getting worse with my tongue and back throat. i also thought TMJ but my bite doesn't feel off and i can chew fine. it's only left ear and in the morning it's not bad at all, i can barely feel congestion..

Has anyone experienced severe itching problems when they stop taking Zyrtec?

Zyrtec and benadryl. Zyrtec doesn't work for me, and benadryl makes me so tired. So my Dr gave me flonase and said to take the benadryl at night.

My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed today with this. I read the other posts relating thyroid problems with autoimmune urticaria. Since I have hypothyroidism, I'm guessing that she should be tested for this at her regular doctor's office? Right now all I can afford is the double dose of Zyrtec, but with everything else she's allergic to (7 types of trees, 3 molds, ragweed, cat, feathers,dust mites & roaches of course) the allergy shots would be better for her, right?
